"Unfortunately, I just bought 1 stick of 512mb pc4200 DDR (dual channel capable) Atlas Precision brand a few days ago, and now have come across this site, and subsequently read a lot of terrible reviews. I'll keep you guys updated as to my situation, my memory is suppose to arrive the by the 9th of March/04.
I've also noticed they don't give a lot of info on CAS or if its non ECC or its timings; so I'm really feeling a bit depressed right now. I'll make sure and test the stuff when I get it."
"DO NOT SHOP HERE! DO NOT NOT NOT SHOP HERE. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE SCAMS THAT WILL SEND YOU MEMORY THAT YOU DID NOT ORDER AND THEN YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR MONEY BACK!! I REGRETTED THAT I SHOPPED HERE, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY, MOVE ON AND SHOP SOMEWHERE ELSE.

"just read all these reviews and decided on a good course of action. im already out of $100 and im not even going to go through the hassale and nightmare of even testing the RAM. im going to act as if somebody robed me for $100 dollars. order some RAM off of newegg.com get it within 4 days. and when the memory from 1stchoicememory decides to show up, ill sign for it and throw the unopened package in the trash."
"They're bad at shipping products out in a timely manner and some of their ram are bad and its a pain to get an RMA, I never bother so I shop elsewhere. Goodbye 1stchoice! btw, why isn't their any full refund to backup their product???
Can you say scam?

"This outfit is the worst. Their crappy RAM to motherboard matcher stated my MB would work with their cheapest ram, especially since it was a VIA chipset MB. The ram is Cas Latency 3.0 and my board only works with 2.5 or better. So, there MB to ram matcher was wrong. Also, they tried to screw me on the shipping, which was supposed to be free since it was a pricewatch.com referral. I've tried to return the ram but they are going to pop me for a 15% restocking fee since they do think their website mis information was to blame. Avoid these guys like the plague."
"Overall the transaction went fairly smoothly, but I was left somewhat frustrated. The ordered arrived right on time, however, tracking it was impossible. The email invoice didn't include my Tracking Number, nor was it emailed to me after the package was shipped. Instead, I was expect to go to their online tracking page and enter my invoice. The problem here is that their online tracking page doesn't exist, it currently gives an error that no webpage is configured at that address.
Overall, I'd recommend them for non-critical situations, but if you absolutely have to know if something will make it there on time, I'd try somewhere else. A bit of work on their website and order process would go a long way."
"very good memory, works perfect.was easy to install.the prices are very good, the best of what i found on the internet.cheap and fast shipping, even with ground shipping.thanks."
" WARNING!! If you plan to order from 1st Choice Memory be aware that if it is necessary to return a product that is defective, you will be responsible for the return postage and the cost of having the replacement product shipped to you via FedEx rates.
I ordered a module of 512MB of PC133 168 pin RAM and when it arrived I installed it and tested it with the program MemText 86 ver. 3. It was determined by the software to have a defective memory location and I sent the RAM back to 1st Choice noting the program and version that I used to test the memory. I received the replacement RAM and again installed but this time the computer couldn't POST. I just got a continuous series of long beeps indicating that there was a problem with the memory. I installed a different strip of memory from inventory and used the new memory from 1st Choice as the second module in the motherboard. I could get a successful boot but when I ran MemTest 86 and it got to testing the second strip of RAM, the test reported that absolutely every memory location on this strip was defective.
I returned this second module again noting the test used and results. I waited for two weeks and after not having heard from 1st Choice Memory I e-mailed them an inquiry. Apparently they are snowed under with returns and a rep went down to the return department and hunted through the entire return goods pile and found my return memory. I received notification that the replacement was again shipped to me.
While this was going on, I received my credit card statement and noted that there was a charge for $5.95 that represented the shipping charges for the replacement module. I again e-mailed 1st Choice Memory to find out if this was an erroneous charge and learned that the customer is responsible for shipping charges on replacements for defects both ways (i.e. back to 1st Choice and also for the replacement shipping). I was also informed at this time that both of the returned modules had passed their "system testing" and were deemed to be satisfactory RAM modules.
I ultimately did receive a strip of RAM which tested as satisfactory by my testing procedure but it was necessary to return two modules in order to get one that works. As well as paying the return and reshipping charges via the most expensive but not requested shipper FedEx.
I cannot recommend this supplier to anyone.
It is no wonder that 1st Choice is snowed under with returns if they can test defective memory and determine that it is good by their standards. They then probably return the RAM to their inventory and proceed to ship it out for other customers.
If this is in fact what they do, I would not recommend that you order from them as you will likely receive a module that has been returned as defective but tested as satisfactory by what ever testing means that 1st Choice Memory runs on these returns. I know that I won't be ordering from these folks in the future as their return shipping charges policy is not clearly stipulated in their shipping policy. It is ambiguously stated as "All return shipping costs for defective or non-defective items are solely the responsibility of the Buyer."
I am used to having to pay the freight to return defective merchandise, however this is the first reseller I have ever encountered who also requires that the buyer also pay the freight for the replacment merchandise.

"they sent me exactly what i needed,it was grade aaa product, they even double checked to make sure it was compatable...thanks a bunch guys,i'll be ordering again soon."
"I was a bit leary after reading some of the reviews on this page, but I took the advice of a good friend and ordered anyway. Their service was prompt, and their customer service people were extremely helpful. I noticed a pricing error on one of their pages, and as soon as I pointed it out they offered to credit me the amount they were off. Their website has problems, but they are easy to work with and I've had very good luck with their Atlas-Precision RAM. I would order from this company again."
"EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED. I placed my order with this company on the 23, my order was processed on the 31, and they say I will get just a couple stiks of memory on the 16th of June. The prices are good but the items have SERIOUS incompatibility issues even when you try to do simple stuff. Have been doing business for a couple of years, and never came across such irresponsible and incompetent company. I wonder, which country do these people think they are doing business???? some country from the third world?? If they are not able or ready to give people the service they deserve, they should close up and start selling hot dogs instead!! And that would even be hard for them, people would have to wait hours just to have it with mustard!!
WORST COMPANY EVER!!!"
"Price is pretty good. Website is a little hard to navigate. Lousy response time. I ordered on the 9th of May. Order was finally shipped on the 15th. Not expected until the 22nd. I don't mind waiting on shipping to save a little money. I very much do mind it taking almost a week for them to put the two little sticks of memory into the mail."
"Dishonest, Thieves, or just ca't work their own equipment.
I placed an order for a stick of ram. They sent me an email saying my order was cancelled. They said my debit card was rejected (I had easily over a grand in there and was ordering a 50 stick of RAM), yet my bank said that they still tranfered my money. I called them and they said to call my bank. So now my bank has to deal with the fact that either they are just thieves or they don't know how to work their own equipment. The worst part is that I'm out 50 bux and have no RAM. Im goin to NEWEGG. People like this is why e-commerce is so risky."
"N-I-G-H-T-M-A-R-E!!!!!!!!!!
Some companies retag PC1600 as PC2100 in order to boost profits.
How to tell when this has happened to you:
If you order a 512mb stick of PC2100 from these people and it will only run at PC1600.
IT GETS W-O-R-S-E!!!!!!!!!
When you RMA to this company and they state it is not thier policy to inform you if they have recieved the RMA.
They say, "It is up to you to go to the company you shipped it with and find out if we have recieved it."
D-I-S-R-E-S-P-E-C-T-F-U-L!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been building computers since 1989, going on 14 years now, buying parts online for the last 7 years. This is the first time I have run into such outright disrespect. This time I thought it would be a good experience to have my 15yr old son handle the whole RMA process. EVEDENTLY, someone at this company sensed my son was new at this and has tried to make him feel like he is a complete imbecile.
BottomLine Respect yourself, and don't do business with these people.
