When they called to confirm my order the sales guys tried to sale me extra stuff like a UV filter and extra battery, but WAS NOT pushy! He explained what things were and why I would need it but accepted my no! He was super nice! thank you 42 photo!! You made this mother of 5 kids super happy!! and my husband b/c we saved $$"

"I found a lens I wanted on their site for a good deal so I ordered it on a Monday. I got a call that Thursday saying I needed to confirm the order so I called them back. The person on the phone told me I needed to buy either a $60 or 100$ filter or the lens wouldn't work. I know a lot about photography and knew that wasn't true. I said I wanted to cancel the order but they told me I would have to pay 5% as a fee for cancelling. We finally agreed to put the order on hold until I could decide what I wanted to do. Later in the day, I checked my order to see they had added the $60 filter to it without my consent! I tried to call them a few times but no one answered. I was given an email address through Paypal (that I couldn't find anywhere else) and asked them to cancel the order. Luckily, they listened and cancelled it quickly. Let's hope I'm not charged since the site policy doesn't mention a cancellation fee.

Update: I got a friendly call from a nice salesperson trying to fix the situation because they saw this. I decided to keep the order cancelled but at least they followed up. "

"I had not heard of 42nd St Photo in a while (Back in the day they advertised in all the photo magazines) and was pleasantly surprised when I found them while searching the internet for a Canon Rebel T3i body I wanted. Their price was well below the competitors, and knowing their reputation I immediately decided to go with them. Their web site was easy to navigate and they were very easy to buy from. My camera arrived as promised with all the usual accesories (battery, charger, etc.). Some of the cheaper merchants do not include those. I did receive a call to offer me an extended warranty and memory card. When I declined they did not push me at all. The caller was very courteous and willing to help. He also seemed very knowledgeable. I am very happy with my purchase from 42nd St. Photo."
