"Buyer beware!!! There return policy sucks! They do not tell you this upfront. I ordered a pair of shoes in 10W, and I cannot even fit my feet into them. I went to site to get info on returning them, I had to do everything myself with the help of UPS! I was also charged an additional $11.80 (on top of S&H of $6.95 to order them!) to return to 6pm.com! And of course they will NOT EXCHANGE anything! I was basically SCREWED out of $18.75! I will never, ever buy from this site again! I will also tell my friends not to either! Please make sure you check any online stores exchange and return policy before you buy anything from them. There are many reputable sites to buy merchandise from. Also look for an 800 number to the site your buying from. Because unlike 6pm.com, it is impossible to talk to a human. It is all "handled" thru emails. "

"I can''t believe there are any complaints about 6pm.com. I received unbelievable service - ordered on a Sunday & got my shoes on Wednesday. There was no hassle about the LOW, VERY LOW, sale price as I have read about. I got an unheard of deal on a pair of Keen Boots ($58.25 including shipping), which does not even come close to the prices of other retailers who include shipping. I did get lucky getting the sale price (30%) since it changed the next day. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND 6PM.COM. To the scoffers I say stick to purchasing offline at your local retailer. That way you can deal with your complaints there & not tarnish the image of reputable sites."

"I've ordered from this company multiple times and have been nothing but satisfied. People complaining about the return policy clearly don't read the fine print before they make purchases. If you don't want to have any issues whatsoever about sizing, then don't order anything online if you're unsure it will fit you or not. Their shipping is incredibly fast and I have been 110% satisfied with their products and customer service. I can't wait to order from 6pm again!"

"I have bought from both e-bags and 6pm, and the return policy some are moaning about is FAAAAR eclipsed by awesome customer service (gave me a huge promotion even though I actually didn't qualify for it with my order) and ridiculously good prices (at least highly competitive, sometimes just giving the stuff away- beat zappos by 25% on my last shoe order). Besides all this, especially on ebags I literally have had the smoothest shopping experiences ever. i have literally recommended this site to friends-- and I NEVER do that for a business. Take it or leave it, but that's my experience!"

"Their return policy is terrible.
I was thinking about returning a pair of shoes that I bought from them but since I have to pay extra for the return fee, I would rather give the shoes to somebody else. They don't provide you anything for the return process, not even a return label. I would not purchase anything from this site ever again.

"This first purchase from 6pm was only made due to the unavailability of the shoes elsewhere (for the lowest price possible). It wasn't a steal per se, but it was the best price around, including shipping.

I checked ResellerRatings prior to ordering and decided to go for the buy regardless of the copious negatives. Prior to ordering, I quadruple checked everything, and scoured the site for any strange or easily overlooked details.

So... whether or not it was luck, I got exactly what I wanted; no problems. Shipping and packaging were solid, too.

If a second purchase from 6pm--not Zappos--is required, this post will be updated.

2011 Update:

Much like the first round, I was looking for a particular item for the lowest possible price... and 6pm had it--with a bonus holiday special. Had there been no holiday deal, the discounted price would have been comparable to most.

Still no Paypal option, but eh...

Although there were no major issues with the free UPS shipping, the packaging was abysmal; the box used was flimsy, battered, barely taped, and partially open upon receipt. Really only thankful for the plastic bag covering the order inside, and the tracking number notification.

No bump to five stars.

"BUYER BEWARE!!!! Read their return policy real good. Their shipping is $6.95 flat rate. I purchase to sets of cleats for my son and neither of them fit. The return policy is horrible. When you return the items to the store you have to pay return shipping - which I guess is not the worst thing in the world when ordering on-line trying to get a fit. When the company receives the return - they will only credit you for the cost of the item. Even though you paid for shipping - they keep the $6.95 paid to ship for "the service they provided to you to ship the item". I have never come in contact with a company like this before and I shop on line all of the time. I would not use them again - ever."

"They had a great sale on Asics shoes so I checked out the site here first before ordering. Since it was about half and half on the reviews I decided to give them a try. I received my order of two pair of shoes and a pair of boots/slippers. The shoes were great but I had a problem with the boots. I emailed customer support and the problem was solved within 48 hours. That's hard to beat. I will defiantly shop this store again."

"Sold me some undersized shoes - about 1/2 size too small. The RMA process did not work - supposed to send a email - that never arrived. The password reset email also did not work. Had to email customer service to get RMA info.
They deduct your shipping from your refund - so you lose $6.95 right off the top, plus you have to pay return shipping - another $9.00. So, I am out $16 because they sent me poorly sized shoes - not much savings there.
They also don't provide a return label.
Pathetic - will not be doing business again.

"6pm shipped the wrong item and refuses to correct or give a phone number where I can contact them. We have exchanged several emails. I wish I would have read these reviews first. Buyer beware. They will not refund shipping, pay for return shipping or exchange for correct item. Everything is up to me. Claim to be part of zappos.com but customer service is non existent. Do not shop with them. I am so upset, I am no longer shopping with zappos either and I am VIP at zappos. Over $75 or so (including two way shipping) both 6 pm and zappos have lost a customer. This is my first and last order with 6 pm. Do not shop with them."

"The site gave me the message "Please fix the following errors:

* An unexpected error occurred while trying to place your order. Please check your information and try again."

and I tried to place the order several times, thinking I must've given my card number or address incorrectly. No order confirmation emails were sent, and yes, I pluralized "email" since the site horribly goofed, putting through all EIGHT of my order-attempts , each which actually charged my card without notifying me, no confirmation email or emails sent at all (none in my spam box either). Their nicely-hidden customer service number with PST hours shows a Monday-Saturday schedule for contacting them by phone, but when I called today, their voicemail message told me that they were open on Sundays through Fridays. Wow, this site/company is a mess. I don't even care that since I've ordered from them a year ago (which was fine) that their site has been nicely revamped. Their order placement and confirmation system is utterly screwed up. I'm waiting for tomorrow/Sunday, to call them to ask them for a refund of over $200 bucks or screw it, I'm just disputing the charges after I read here how lousy and long it takes for them to refund your card.

"Although the products and sale prices are good, the company practices are a scam. They put on a sale, you buy the shoes, but they double the prices before your shoes arrive. Your shoes do not fit so you need a different size. They will not exchange them. You have to buy the size that fits at double the price plus repay shipping, plus repay to ship your other pair back for a return. What kind of company does that? I talked to their customer service and they will not honor the original price for another size...that is their policy. So if I return my shoes and just don't buy another size, I will actually be out more money than I paid for the shoes in shipping alone with no shoes to show for it. Nice. Buyer Beware."

"Prompt service. Items were exactly as described. Very happy with purchase, and shipping fees were reasonable considering weight of the product. Their website is easy to navigate, though I wish you could shop by size (something they do not currently offer in Men's Clothing). They do offer size shopping in the shoe department."
