"I ordered a GPS that had a great price online. I received an email to call them to verify the order. I talked to Steve and everything sounded normal but he did ask if I wanted to order a "special high speed SD memory card" as well. I declined the SD mem and was told that the unit ship and arrive in 7-10 days. After a week, I noticed that my account had not been debited. I called cust svc, and they said the unit was on BO and that I could get a FREE retail kit upgrade if I ordered the 1G SD mem for $99. I asked "So you have the product I ordered and can send it today if I get the mem. She said yes. I said no to the mem. Then they said that I could still get the FREE retail kit if I got the 3yr warranty for $99. I said no. She said then it will a 5 week BO and that they would Email me when it ships. "

"We ordered for a price of $499. the item was listed as in stock. Received an email that it was not out of stock and it would be 3-4 weeks. Five weeks later I called and was told it would be 5 weeks more before delivery. The Company, in my opinion, is misleading customers and appear to have unethical business practices. I regret placing the order w/ them as I need a camera for the summer camp prgram we operate out of our hospital."

"Ordered GPS that they confirmed was in stock with a debit card. No confirmation email, but Jason at extension 213 calls June 20th to confirm some personal information, but it was really only an excuse try to sell an additional product that they said I needed - and surely did not. Confirmed verbally again item was in stock, order was shipping and that confirming email would be sent. June 27th, still no email and no product. I Call Company and learn item is backordered for 5 weeks! I cncl order and ask for email confirmation and to recredit my card - because they already took my money. What a great experience. "

"I experienced the exact same bait-and-switch tactic everyone else has gotten. Tried to upsell me, and when I declined, I received a "backorder notification" a few minutes later.

So, I called them back pretending to be a new customer. I asked if they had the Canon SD750 (the camera I ordered) in stock. The customer service representative, Sean, responded "Oh, yeah! Of course!".

"Wonderful," I said, "can you make sure you ship the order I placed two weeks ago gets shipped as quickly as possible?".

Sean responded, "You'll have it over the weekend."

In inquired, "How do you know I'll have it over the weekend if I haven't given you my order number yet?"

"It doesn't matter, they're all getting shipped." then he hung up on me.

I guess I should have rememberd -- if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

Don't waste your time.

"I tried to place an order for the PowerShot 870 IS from this site about 6 months ago because they had the lowest price, however I recieved an email the next day telling me that it was out of stock. It would take about 3-4 weeks. So I canceled that order. I got the camera elsewhere for about $50 more.
I recently tried to order that same camera and got the same message. I decided to wait this time around. After 3 weeks I called them and they told me rudely that my order was on back order and that it would take another 5 weeks. I canceled it immediately. But like every one else was saying they now have my credit card info.
My theory is that they will only fulfill the order if I buy their outrageously priced accessories (memory card that cost $50 for $400!) I will never order any thing for this site. Please don't waste your time and money.

"I had a very similar negative ordering experience with this company. Like everyone else, I was asked to call to "confirm" my order, where they simply tried to sell me another battery and memory card. After I declined to purchase the additional items, I received an email stating that the item will be backordered for 3-4 weeks. Considering the fact that so many other people had this experience, it is clear that this website is a COMPLETE SCAM.
I wish I had read reviews on this site prior to wasting my time ordering from this company.
I will definitely do my research next time.

"This store is a total fraud! After showing the item in stock, they sent me an email telling me it was backordered 3-4 weeks. I called after 4 weeks only to find out it would be backordered at least another 5 weeks. They may advertise low prices, but you'll never get anything. DON'T BUY"

"Please, Nobody waste your time or money on this company, had I seen this website and saw the real review I would not have wasted my. I placed an order a week ago, then three days later I recieved a phone call stating that they noticed I had not purchased anything else and tried to get me to buy more extraneous items that I did not want. Eight days after the original purchase date(three days later than I was supposed to recieve the item) I have not recieved the product nor been charged for it. I called the "customer service" department and was not handled with any sort of professionalism. The first person, when they found out I was in the wrong department, did not say anything just transferred me. The next individual informed me that the product I ordered was on back order for five more weeks. When I asked how long it had been on back order, he pretended to not know what i meant repeated himself again, said something in another language and then hung up on me. The only thing this company did correctly was cancel my order when I told them to. But that is probably because everybody does this to them.

Again, please do not waste your time or money on this wannabe customer based company.

"Classic bait and switch! Made Garmin GPS order over internet (great price) with credit card, then got email that my info was incomplete. The rep took my info, then tried to sell me a memory card, which I declined. He said the order was processed. Then, I immediately got another email informing me that the item was on back order, 3-4 weeks, but of course I could cancel. I called back to cancel, using the same extension but got a message machine. I called again, persisted by using "0", got the rep and he brusquely cancelled the order. I got a confirmation email, but yes, they now have my credit card info, even though the message guaranteed that it had been deleted. Don't deal with these characters!

Do not waste your time with this peoples you go an place your order , later you will receive a E-MAIL asking you to call them to verify your order , when you call them, they will try to sell you an extended warranty or overprice memory cards , if you refuse to buy any thing else the next thing is. you get an E-MAIL canceling your order with the excuse that they do not have the GPS in stock and that it will take 7 to 8 week to get it, I have my wife to call them and ask if they have the GPS they say that they have it, so when I questioned them, they treated me like DIRT with offensive language and the worst is, that they have my credit car information

"DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. All of the stories below sound strikingly similar to mine.

I called to make sure I was buying a valid product, the saleman, Jason, was very friendly and helpful, talked me into buying an extra battery because the battery that came with it was "only a 15 minute battery", and he made the new one sound like a great deal (I should have compared with other sites first). I figured all along that if I found I didn't need it, I would return it.

He managed to talk me into buying a package deal, which, is a catastrophe if you are even thinking of returning anything because of the 20% restocking fee that they don't tell you about, AND you can't return parts of a package, you have to return it all or nothing, which can add up to a huge $150 restocking fee in no time. Not to mention the whole thing is WAY overpriced anyway.

I did receive the products ordered in 2 days and love my Olympus Stylus. I found my new $400 memory card from them on another site for $20 and their $150 battery online for $30. I paid more than I should have but had to suck it up or I would have lost more by returning it - I guess that's their goal. I did call and get them to send me another free memory card, battery, and $50 credit to their store since I was so unhappy. I may just toss the store credit though, just to avoid any more business with them.

Their customer service did take a long time and they didn't seem very interested in actually making me happy by just waiving the return fee. Needless to say, this company got the better of me and I've learned a lot from it, but I wish I would have just read this site before buying, then I could have learned from someone else. Please, just go somewhere else and avoid the hassle! SAY NO TO 86TH STREET PHOTO!

"It's the same story as everyone else. You get placed on hold for 45 minutes and get bounced around and then they hang up on you. All I want to do is cancel this order! I wish I had seen these reviews earlier. I would otherwise not have ordered from these people. It's not rocket science: You have product to sell, you offer to sell it, people buy it and pay for it, you ship it, the customer is happy and the store is happy...everyone is happy and everyone moves on and the store may actually have a loyal buyer for future purchases. What's so difficult about all that???? They are ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!!!!! DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS STORE...THEY SUCK!!!!!!!!!

Added 6/24/08: This store is a FRAUD. If you've ordered anything, you might want to cancel your Credit Card. Good luck cancelling the order. Cancelling the CC is your quickest and safest route.

I called them today to make sure that order went thru properly and that They can deliver in time.

It took me almost 30 minutes on phone to get someone to pickup the phone. The person picking up the phone heard my needs for verification and said he is transferring me to customer service -- another 4-5 minutes wait and a guy picked up -- asked me for my order number and he immidiately said something and before I could even try to figure what he said, he put me on hold. Again another 3-4 minutes, another guy picked up and I gave hime my order number, he said it is not in stock -- so I said, please cancel the order and send me a verification by e-mail -- even before I finish my sentence, he diconnected me completely. I have not received an e-mail as yet but I am sure that this is a fraud business and I intend to report this to my creditcard company and BBB.

I hope people read these reviews before they order at this place.

"SCAM STAY AWAY FROM

I placed an order like everyone else, thinking I was getting a nice deal on a garmin nuvi 260w for 205$.
I ignored there high price parts.
Got an email on sunday wanting to confirm my order and then tried to sell me a 2GB san disk card for 150$ saying its a special 100$ off.
I said no thanks I will look else where.
Here is there email asking me to call "sean"

"Do not do business with 86th Street Photo & Video. Same story. Ordered Garmin Nuvi 750. Two days later they emailed that I needed to verify the order. When I called the tried to sell me a $18 SD card for $99. When I refused they informed me that the Nuvi was on backorder for 4-5 weeks. I cancelled the order."
