My ABS Awesome 3500 system is one year old and I have never had one problem with it! The system was the best investment I made. I recommend ABS to everyone!
I needed a new PC and it was down to Ibuypower and ABS. I went with ABS because they were offering more equipment for the buck. I placed a call and ordered the ABS Awesome 3500 PC. I was given information on how the system was being built right down to the tracking number when it was shipped. I ordered it Aug. 22 and arrived at my door Aug. 30, well within the 7-10 day limit promised. I unpacked the system, which was packaged well. I took out the PC and hardware and did a thorough inspection and everything was perfect! I went ahead and hooked it up and everything worked fine. All the components I wanted were there working properly. I am very please on how the system performs. I'll update as time passes to see if the system passes the reliability test. But for now, I'm glad I went with ABS!"
"I ordered an Awesome 3500 on August 1, 2003. I received the system about a week and a half later and was generally quite satisfied at this point because everything was in good working order. Just 3 days later however, the hard drive failed. I figured it was just a defective hard drive and ABS was cooperative in sending me a new hard drive. I installed the new hard drive and once again, everything was working fine. This was around August 18. I left for college the next day, August 19. When I settled in and everything was unpacked, the computer was still working fine. Suddenly around a week later around August 25, the second hard drive failed as well. I called ABS and they said to try formatting and reinstalling Windows, which I did. The new installation worked...for about 2 days, when once again the hard drive died. At this point, I knew that it wasn't the hard drive that was the heart of the problem. I would have to have the worst luck in the world to receive 2 defective hard drives. I attempted contacting ABS to ask them to send me a new computer because there are obvious problems with my current one. I have classes for the majority of my day now so I can't spend a long time waiting on hold so I failed to contact them for several days until today. I finally got through and instead of hearing out my problem, they told me to send my current defective computer back so they can fix it and send it back. I have several problems with this. First, I am afraid they will simply replace the hard drive and send it back since that's the first problem they'll see. I'm sure a new hard drive would work fine for several days and then fail again, because I am almost certain that something else is corrupting the hard drive. Second, I am in college now and need to use my computer pretty often for my classes. This process would almost certainly take at least 2 weeks, which is more time than I'd like to spend without a working computer considering I've already gone a week without one and have to trek all the day across campus to the computer lab for all my computer assignments. My experience with ABS has been very bad and I would not recommend it to a friend."
"In over 20 years of buying PCs, I've returned only one computer: the ABS Awesome 3500, which I reconfigured with several options for gaming. System would freeze, turn monitor off with Invalid Scan Frequency messages, or just shut off. Video card didn't work (Radeon 9600), 1394 port didn't work. One of the USB ports didn't work. Modem would sometimes restart the system. Tech support ranged from excellent (we determined together there was NO virus on the system) to mostly lazy and useless (you'll need to look it up on microsoft.com). I ended up buying a Dell (with an NVIDIA card), which works beautifully, without any problems. And given Dell's new discounts, my new system is cheaper than the one I bought at ABC. I posted this same comment at the ABS website -- and, so far, it hasn't showed up on their ratings page. Looks like they only post the positive reviews on their site."

"All I can say is WOW. I'm 15 years old looking for an excellent computer that is cheap. Just look at the specs-2.8GHz 800MHz FSB, 1 gig Corsair C2 XMS RAM, NVIDIA Geforce FX 5900 Ultra 256mb, 19in NEC Multisync 991 monitor, Creative Labs 5200 5.1 Surround, Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2, 160 GB HD. All for, guess how much? $2600? $2800? NO! $2313! I was like WOW. Same Alienware-$2700. Same dell w/o the 5900 Ultra-$2850! After long talks with there techs online, namely Alex, I decided to go for the Awesome 4500. Price with shipping included-$2436. Well, I came back today and what do you know, it came down $90. I was appalled that I had bought it 2 days ago! Well, I talked to Carlos on tech support, and he GAVE ME THE MONEY BACK! I was amazed! All I can say ABS is wow. If my computer comes and is all that I hoped for, you have a customer for life. Your Consumer Support is incredible! Thank you ABS, I will recommend you to all my friends!"
"I have resisted adding my testimony about my experience but I do so now out of frustration of dealing with ABS. I ordered a sensation 1300 on 6/30/03. It took me a while to realize that there was something wrong with the computer after I received it. I thought it was a software issue. When I first contacted ABS, the tech person and I concluded it was a video card. They agreed to send one out. It was suppose to take 3 days but took 7. Installing it did not take care of the problem, so I requested that they build me a new computer to replace the original one. My request was in the first 30 days so they agreed.
When they posted the description of the components for the new computer on line there were mistakes. They included a CD burner I did not order and failed to include a second hard drive and sound card that I had ordered with the first computer. I placed two phone calls to customer service to try to take care of the problem. The first person assured that it would be taken care of. The second told me that it was at the warehouse and changes could not be made. It was shipped 5 days after the second phone call. The new computer arrived 8/21/03. Although it works fine, ABS had taken out the CD burner I did not order but had failed to put in the second hard drive and sound card. The computer also did not come with a Windows XP key and recovery disk. I placed yet another phone call to ABS and was told that they would ship all of the missing parts. The XP key and recovery disk arrived quickly but I still haven't seen the other components. The website indicates they were approved to be shipped 6 days ago; the same day as the recovery disk. I don't know what the delay is because all that needs to be done is to put these in a box and ship them. I will have to say that ABS Customer Service has been easy to deal with when I've called them, and I've not yelled when I've called because these problems are not the fault of the customer service folks I've spoken with. In my estimation, the bottom line is that you can get a computer at a good price from ABS, but heaven help you if something is wrong. They seem to have some real organization problems that keep them from responding in an effective and timely manner to customers needs.
UPDATE: Yesterday, after three phone calls to customer service, I found a customer service rep who seemed to take my problem to heart and promised to ensure that my order would be shipped today. We'll see if they follow through this time. I will add a post if they do.
UPDATE: The head of Customer Service called on Friday to apologize. She promised the missing components would be delivered on Saturday - and they were. She also indicated that steps had been taken to make sure that these problems would not happen again. The only thing left to do is to have the parts installed."
