"Bought a Samsung LCD TV from Abe's. I found great phone customer service and a great price on the TV. I was a little worried especially after the Best Buy sales guy warned me about Abe's but since the cost of the TV was $900 cheaper at Abe's than Best Buy I decided to give it a try.
The TV arrived at my house fairly quick even with the free shipping option. The delivery guy brought it right up to my door after calling me first and setting up a delivery time. The TV was brand new and works perfect.

"I have purchased a cooktop from them. The first one arrived with broken glass. They sent another one and this one also arrived with broken glass. After that they refused to send another one, claiming that there is no point, it will arrive broken again. They cancelled my order, I have no cooktop and a rebate offer for the cooktop expired. I wonder why they even took my order. After all, it would arrive broken anyway. Very unfair treatment. How hard is it to pack something for shipping? In many years of online shopping, I have never seen anything break twice on the way, regardless of the distance. I will never buy from them again."

Received an email from Adi at Abe's yesterday(March25) that they wouldn't be getting any more of the Sony batteries(gee, I wonder when they were going to let me know) and could send a Nikura battery right out to me with a $20.00 discount. I'll believe it when I see it. Will keep you updated.

Jason, from Abe's of Maine called and left a voice mail for me to call back(March 26) to discuss my shipment. I returned his call and he apologized for the mix-up in my order. He is going to refund my credit card for the battery and is going to send me the battery for free. He gave me the UPS tracking number, which I checked on the UPS site and it was valid. I have decided, in my case, to revise my rating."

"We had our kitchen upgraded and didn't want a big, bulky microwave sitting taking up counter space - especially when we only use it for reheating and popcorn! I found a "convenience" microwave at Abe's and I love it, as does everyone who sees it. It isn't the standard box...the back edges are rounded so it fits snugly in the corner. Service was great (first time purchaser) and it was quick. Love it, love it, LOVE IT!!"
"GO ANYWHERE BUT TO ABE'S OF MAINE (AOM). I ordered from AOM because of the high ratings they received from several websites; however, the five star ratings are totally misleading. You may get decent pricing at AOM, but you will pay for it in up charges on shipping, extended warranties, and unnecessary add on items. The customer service rep. sold me expensive cables that I later found were not necessary as well as ground shipping that has taken more than two weeks and counting. I ordered a Sony KDL46NX720 flat screen on 3-13-12 and have yet to receive it as of 3-26-12. Called AOM multiple times and customer reps were not able to provide any tracking info. on my purchase If I had read some of the customer reviews in more detail before ordering from AOM I would have never ordered from them, and instead would have gone with Amazon or B&H even though they were a little bit more expensive. I have asked AmEx to hold payment since I can't get an answer from AOM. The best advice I can offer is read all of the reviews carefully and be aware that you get what you pay for with AOM. Pay the extra $50 to $100 to a reputable retailer and save yourself the aggravation of dealing with AOM."
"Had a minor issue with shipping with Abe's. I think they could use some clarification/transparency as far as their shipping policy is concerned, especially for those of us who choose ground shipping due to the close proximity to the store. (Ground shipping is just as good as overnight for folks living in NY, for instance) I just don't think there should be any preferential treatment for those choosing overnight shipping.
I once again spoke with the V.P. over there, David, and the situation was rectified. The item is going to ship one day late, but it's not the end of the world.

"I placed an order for a dishwasher approximately 3 days ago and have thus far only received confirmation of my order. One day after the order was placed, I was engaged by an upseller to see if I wanted local delivery at a cost, which I declined. The gentleman suggested that local delivery would be much faster than commercial delivery. I indicated the 5-7 business days was fine and was then told the shipping time would be 2-3 weeks, YES....2-3 weeks. I told him the website indicated 5-7 days and he said "that is when the item is shipped from the retailer and the overall shipping is the time period stated".
I would think a retailer of this caliber would set better expectations with their customers that are more in line with reality. If it is three weeks, say so! This way, we do not have to constantly wonder when the item will arrive. I will say the ordering process was extremely easy (one of the best I have used) but am concerned my overall experience might be a negative one based upon my recent engagement. I wrote and called the Vice President "David" on Wednesday to inquire about this concern and to date have not received a call or e-mail response. I just checked the website to track my order and the order does not show in the system.
I am still optimistic but will post a follow up review on my overall experience after I receive the unit.
3/12/12 - UPDATE - I recived two calls by David (thanks for the follow up) from their team. The dishwasher has been shipped and is scheduled for delivery this week. The staff seems very committed to ensuring proper treatment of their customers and I will provide one last update upon receipt of my unit.
3/23/12 FINAL UPDATE. Dishwasher arrived on 3/22/12. Approximately 2 weeks after initial order date. Those of you ordering and are willing to wait on the free shipping can expect to wait this long. Personally, I was OK with this but again thought the website should set better expectations for delivery since it initially said 5-7 days.
Order arrived and the driver was pleasant and even delivered to the door of my house (not part of the contract but willing to help). He asked me to uncover and inspect and was patient while I reviewed the contents. Please note the item is not delivered in original carton as it is possibly pre inspected before delivery. It is proffesionally bubble wrapped and all contents were received. A follow up on my gift certificate that I elected to acquire as part of the offer was in place and available on the website as promised. Overall, i would rate my experience with ABE'S an 8 out of 10 and would have provided a higher rating if the website for shipping dates and tracking were improved.

"It's been said a thousand times on yelp, epinions, resellerratings, and many other websites. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. The prices may seem great, and the fake 5 star reviews that are posted on Epinions look enticing, but you will wait, and wait, and wait and be lied to over and over again. It's just not worth it.
Day 1) Saw great price on a 60" Samsung LED TV that was in stock ($2400). Placed Order.

Day 2) After reading bad reviews about Abes of Maine scamming customers I immediately call to insure the product is in fact in stock and ready to ship. I spoke with Sam who explained that the product IS in stock and would ship within 24-48 hours. After declining extended warranties, upgraded mounts, HDMI cables, and "white glove shipping" he finally confirms that the order "has been placed" and it will ship out with 24-48 hours.

Day 7) Call and speak with someone who says that they can’t find out why it has not shipped. They state they "will have to call their distributor" to find out when the TV will ship to them. THE TV WAS NEVER IN STOCK!

Day 8) I call to find out the status and am told by "Jacob" that they "expect a truck on Monday" and it SHOULD have the product I ordered and I SHOULD expect to receive it within 5-8 days after that. 20 days after placing my order?!? No thank you.
I decided enough is enough. I told him to cancel my order and called my credit card company to make sure that if the refund is not processed within 24 hours it will be reversed as what Abes of Maine has done is considered FRAUD.
Recap of the lies
1) I was told the item was in stock at THEIR facility (I was then told it SHOULD ship from the distributor to Abes of Maine a full 12 days after placing my order).
2) I was told the item would ship out within 24-48 hours by Sam when I called to make sure it was in fact in stock and ready to ship. (Didn't happen)
3) Abes of Maine website states that the item would ship out within 1-3 days (Never happened)
4) I was told that I would receive a status update on the 8th morning (Never happened).
5) Abes of Maine website lists that your card will not be charged until the item ships (Item never shipped, yet card was charged day after I placed order).
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!
