"Ordered a Panasonic 60" successfully with free shipping. Few days later order was cancelled as they were unable to "call" me. The generic email from "Larry" that said, "call me" went to my spam folder. Amazon doesn't call me when i place an order. Called them and asked if i could uncancel and proceed with order. Transferred to Roy: wanted to know if i wanted HDMI cables, 3D cables, secure shipping, heavy-duty mount (free mount is fine!), extended warranty etc. etc. Said No 10 times, finally gave in for $89 with the "special shipping" and so called heavy duty mount because deal was that good. 10 Days later order is cancelled again because the 2011 Panasonic 60" plasma is no longer available.... Now why on earth did i spend 30 minutes on hold/working with Roy to later find out the product is not available? If you look at other review sites you'll also find that others in the past have had issues where product is not available, supposedly a computer problem. This has been a problem for years, pretty sure computers/web sites are able to do simple subtraction on inventory these days. Please make sure you look at other review sites like Epinions or Yelp, it's odd to me that there are horrible reviews on other sites, where as this site they seem to be favorable.

Order is supposedly cancelled and i'm noticing that they were able to debit my credit card immediately, but crediting the card back is taking days. Now on day 5 and nothing.

Card is now updated. Debited on 3/18 immediately, re-ordered on 3/26 after finding out myself order is cancelled, 4/2 (6 days) I get an official cancelled email when they figure out they don't have product, credited on 4/8. If i didn't know any better I would think this would be considered fraud.

Was emailed by a VP from Abes of Maine, concerned that i wasn't happy. I replied saying he could leave a brand new 2012 plasma 60" on my door step for free... that would make me happy.

“First I do apologize that your order was unable to be processed do this unit being oversold.
Let me assure you that this was not done intentionally , the last thing we want to do is loss and order and loss a customer.
At the time you had placed your order the unit had been in stock and the time it was to be processed they had oversold.
If there was another model you were looking for I am sure that would have made sure you were happy and you would have received a discount for the aggravation.
I had tried reaching out to you regarding this issue and all I did get was send me a free TV but you were not joking which really is not amusing when someone tries to reach out to help.”

"Price was great for my dishwasher - believe me, I shopped around for a while before purchasing. When I checked out online, I selected free shipping. Who wouldn't? A customer service rep called me the next morning and recommended freight shipping due to the fact that I was not local and the big shippers (FedEx, UPS) were not as careful with shipments. He was right, although I wasn't too keen on paying $100 for shipping. The guy gave me freight shipping for only $50, so I took it. Shipping with the freight carrier was a little long, and I was anxious for my new dishwasher. But alas, it came, and was in perfect condition. The shipper brought it in my living room (I asked not to go into the kitchen yet), made sure to open it for me to inspect it before I signed off, and all for the low price of $50! I was very happy the Abe's rep called and recommended this service to me. Overall, I am very satisfied with the transaction! Dishwasher works great!"

"I received my panasonic lumix camera in less than one week. I was pleasantly surprised after seeing some negative reviews. Had I seen them before I placed my order I know I wouldn't have ordered here. I am surprised to say though that my experience was a pleasant one. I was stressing before I received the camera afraid it wouldn't arrive in time for my daughter's birthday. If the camera works ok this will be a perfect experience with Abe's of Maine."

"This is one of the wrost experience that I have ever had.I brought a security system that should have came with 8 camera and it clearly stated on there web page 8 camera.when my order came it only had 4 camera.when I called then back they said that the wrong information was on there web site.and in all of this they did not want to take the blame for it instead said sorry but we cant change it are give you the 4 remaining camera abes of main is one of the wrost place.I'm very upset and disopointed with this will not be shopping hear again."

"4/13/12: UPDATE. They have made me a satisfied customer. I will do business with them again.

4/2/12: UPDATE. I received a phone call from David who assured me he would replace the camera or give me a refund, whichever I preferred. I requested a refund and was asked to return the camera, which I will promptly do. I intend to post an update when the problem with this purchase is resolved. I am glad to report that they appear to sincerely want to make the situation right.

2/8/12: I purchased an underwater camera from them that filled up with water after only FIVE DAYS. When I contacted customer service via email, I was told to contact the manufacturer.

"I ordered a Samsung Fridge RF4267HARS for an incredible price with free shipping. After placing my order and reading reviews about this store (my first time ordering with Abes), it is true that they try to upsell their "White Glove" delivery service and warranty for more money. I spoke to Sam, and what I did not like was negotiating prices. First the "white glove" delivery service costs $200 and only includes curbside delivery. For $299, i could get full installation. When I declined, service dropped to $150, and when I declined again, it was now only $100. Again, I declined. He told me that free shipping does not allow me to deny delivery if the fridge is defective in anyway. Since I know the fridge is well packaged brand new from Samsung, I was willing to take the chance and I figured I could get the fridge installed in my house for less than $300 anyways (which to Sam's credit, he honestly told me I could do better myself price wise). However, he also told me if I did not accept their "white glove" delivery (now at this point an extra $100), I would not be able to schedule a time frame for delivery. Again, I denied since I can easily get time off from work.

So two days later my order changes from sent to warehouse and then finally delivered. No tracking number shows up online. I called customer service and they tell me someone will contact me from the shipping company to give me a tracking number. Of course nobody calls me later that day, so the very next day I called again, and they provide me a phone number to call the shipping company directly so I could retrieve my tracking number. Called the shipping company and they gave me a tracking order number and told me the exact date when it would be in my local area. On 3/29, I get a call from the shipping company to schedule delivery (yes, and after Sam told me the shipping company would not be scheduling deliveries). On 4/2, I get fridge delivered to my house and they also bring the Fridge inside my house and were nice enough to take my old fridge and place it outside for me. Good thing I did not accept the extra "White glove" delivery service.

Now, Abe's was fairly quick in processing my order and customer service was always prompt in answering questions. I just wish Abe's had better information regarding their delivery services instead of just trying to upsell their "white glove" delivery services. I got my brand new fridge and everything is working, so I am happy with my purchase, especially since I declined their upsell charges.

"I ordered a Canon ink cartridge that was shown on my Abe's order receipt as "Available."
Nine (9) days later there was no word from Abe's and no product received. When I called I was told it had been "oversold" and would not be in for another week. It sure would have been nice to have been contacted about the delay.
I cancelled the order without any problem, but was left without ink.

I received a call from Jason at Abe's a short while after I canceled the order, apologizing and offering to send a cartrtridge at no cost to me the next day. I appreciate that someone at Abe's is keeping track of Customer Service and that Jason bent over backwards to fix my problem.
