"The selection, price, and shipping costs for AccuPC were very nice, so I decided to buy from them. However, their credit card security procedures provided no security whatsoever while making the purchase difficult.

The website order form notes very clearly that the shipping and billing address need to match, or that the shipping address needs to be registered with the credit card company. Since my billing address is a P.O. Box, and since they clearly state that they will not ship to P.O. Boxes, I contacted my credit card company and had my shipping address added to the record.

However, the next day I received an e-mail from AccuPC stating that there was a problem with my shipping address. I contacted Customer Support, and after calling several times, I finally got through. The representative simply asked me to repeat the billing and shipping addresses on the order. After repeating the same information I gave on the order form, I was told the order would be processed today.

Giving this information twice accomplished no additional level of security. All that did was to let them know that I could verbally state the same information I put on the order form. It did not give them any assurance that I was actually using my own credit card. Had they contacted my credit card company, they would have found my shipping address on record, and that would have been valuable information for preventing fraud.

I've been a victim of identity theft before, and I now know what good security processes are. Theirs are not, so I will not shop with them again. "
