"In January 2014, I spoke to three techs in the course of a week when we needed to fix our first experience with malware issues. All three, while not equally, nonetheless had impressive people skills and computer knowledge. However, the first one, while very nice and seemingly full of integrity, applied quite a bit of pressure to purchase the PCMRI anti-malware lifetime licence, and monthly service fee but failed to inform me that we still needed to run the Panda licence that had not been properly applied to the new-to-us computer we were given in December. (This is what likely caused it to be infected with malware to begin with since in the 5 years that we have had Panda we have never had a problem.) The funny thing is that when I was having trouble trying to reload Panda Global from the Panda site, it was the Advanced Tech Support number that came up. The third tech I spoke to was able to get our 2013 Panda licence (expires in June) up and running and said we really needed to have both PCMRI & Panda since one is anti-virus and one is anti-malware. (He was also very helpful because he showed me how to remove extensions and search engines in Google Settings to get it to run faster and possibly remove sources of pop-ups.) I really have to take their word for it since I don't know. I'll be interested to talk to more techys each time I call for a computer deep clean in order to gain more certainty and understanding. I'm just coming to realize your service and expertise is necessary in a computer era in which many people are willing to sell themselves to cause destruction to others, especially to our children (pornographic pop-ups especially).
