"We recently ordered a tallit from Ahuva. Not only are we so impressed with the quick turnaround, we recieved it 10 days after placing the order. We are based in Australia so this alone exceeded our expectations. Also, it truely is one of the most beautiful tallit I have ever seen. As this is a gift for our son on his barmitzvah, I was quite emotional unfolding it. We haven't given it to him yet but we know how much he's going to love it! "When I sent an email asking about the delay in delivery, I received an email (yes - from a real person) within hours. They explained the customs process and how the holidays can slow everything down. Made sense. I received my order 2 or 3 days later - and it was perfect. "Their prices are a "bait and switch." We paid for the benchers. We paid the $50 mark up for the foil for gold print. And then after all of the hassle, the non-responsiveness (they respond to maybe every 4th email...) the confusion (when i finalllly reached someone, they had no idea what was happening. They claimed that my order was canceled. It was not - and if it had, then why hadn't they refunded my money?), and all of a sudden there's another $25 set up fee and another $.50 per bencher fee for printing.
Pay the additional $.50 to $1 per bencher from the other stores. You will still come out way ahead financially since Ahuva changes the prices on you after the order.
The last thing you need when you are busy planning a simcha is to deal with a disorganized and dysfunctional company. Stay away!
After posting a review on google, they sent me an email, and part of the email says: "We're a small Israeli company supporting Jewish families and this review very much hurts us and our business. ..."
I'm sorry, but I do not appreciate this tactic to pull at my heart strings. I would be very happy to support a company like this -- however their nonexistent customer service, their nonprofessional manner, the non-refunded money, the snarky and rude comments... they get zero pity. Ahuva's "management" suggested that I should "rise above the anger" to not hurt their business. However they hurt their own business when they play games with other people's important purchases and money."
"I made a purchase that I wanted by a certain date. I emailed and called the company. There is no response to either medium. Apparently they really are crooks. I wish I had read the reviews prior to purchasing from Ahuva.com as it appears as if my problem is not unique. Is this company even real or are they a front to take money and not send goods? The only good thing is it's on a credit card and interstate; so, it becomes federal wife fraud. Credit Card companies, FBI, and Secret Service have jurisdiction--with enough complaints like this they may investigate and people could go to jail.
Be careful. If you have this issue, dispute with the credit card, contact the FBI, Secret Service, and Better Business Bureau."
"The usual -- bought something, it never arrived, and got harassed by Josh Pinto, the owner, when I tried to complain. The bigger problem is that Josh Pinto and his family routinely post positive reviews of Ahuva in an attempt to offset the genuine problems people have with this shonky business. Judge for yourself -- would a real customer gush about a company, discredit all the negative reviews, and claim that the reason there are so many negative reviews is that people are "too unreasonable" or "make mistakes in their orders"? Only someone with a vested interest in the success of the business would care about that..."
"I've ordered on ahuva a Bat Mitzvah this week and the order process was easy . I used an online coupon they advertise on the front of the store and got the discount with no issues in my cart. Gift arrived quickly and it's beautiful. I'm totally happy. I must agree with the previous comment that most customers only write a review to complain (usually unreasonable customers who make their own order mistakes & don't want to own up to), which is very unfortunate. We customers who are happy rarely bother to write a review. That should change. It's just no fair to great stores like this one.
I noticed ahuva's graphical screen capture is out of date. Probably many years old, which lends to it's credibility. I will definitely only shop at ahuva.com. I've made two orders so far both an amazing purchase in price, quality and customer service. What more can you ask for ?

"I've been ordering from ahuva for years. Always great stuff , great prices and great customer service. The store's unfortunate circumstance is that it's been in business for over 16 years and serviced tens of thousands of customers more than any other store. So while satisfied customers never bother to write a review, it's the few angry and unreasonable customers that rant online negatively. Looking at the comments a customer called ahuva stolen goods because they had a markup on product. Most others omit truthful conversation just showing how unreal they sometimes are.
I vouch for this company whole heartily. They would never be in business as the oldest Judaica store online in existence. That's something you can count on !"
