"They will put a quote/order together for you and ship it to you super fast. I recommend to either contractors or those who are already very DIY-savy. Those types of people will be fine. However when I sent them drawings to be sure that I covered everything, I received no feedback. I ordered anyway. The how-to video skips many scenarios/conditions. Nothing on soffit-installs which i ended up needing to do after realizing I couldnt make interior spacial clearances for one of my inside units. They never added a power feed line so i had to go buy one. When I called customer tech support they provided 4 or 5 bullet points of things to be aware of but when I asked them to email me these points I was told no because it was Monday and too busy for them to email me the points to be aware of. Wow. When I asked another question via online support chat, it was recommended that i sit down with a coffee and read through all the owners manuals. Also - i asked to be contacted to get my system commissioned after installation. That was 2 weeks ago and no one has called or emailed me yet. Im 80% done with completing my installation of a 3 zone system. Bottom line, if you are like me with little to no experience in putting something like this together, i would invest in a ton of time researching how these things work and what is required (which i did do so but perhaps i could have done more) and study your home very carefully as well to make sure you will be okay. Customer service seems nice but they wont hold your hand. You have to own up to the task and dont rely on contractors to call you back for commisioning!"

"So it seems like working with online companies is a little bit of a gamble sometimes. Just coming off some great and lousy buys.... So everything looked good on screen. I did do a chat with a salesman and he was informative and confirmed a written quote (I liked that) for me. Ordered a rather large (24,000 btu) single mini split heat pump with the DIY option. I was replacing an 18,000 btu and just wanted some extra reserve in the cooling spec.s. We have an extremely open floor plan so the old unit would get just over half the lower level within a degree or so with a smaller unit taking care of the back of the house. This new unit was very competitively priced and I figured I would save between $400 to $1000 doing the tear out of the old unit and DIY install of this one. Took me and a helper about 4 hours total for everything. Wow, no leaks, immediate cooling. This unit gets almost ALL of my downstairs within a degree or so of it's setting. Also, from my seating position in the great room it is installed in you do not hear it running at all. We just had a cold snap so I tried out the heating....same thing immediate heat and temp.s regulated all over my lower floor. I did still need to replace the one at the other end of the house and it should come in tomorrow. We will also buy another for the Air BNB we are creating with our old guest second floor area..... Alpine Air....highly recommended."
