"Purchased a CoolMax Hard Drive enclosure which arrived with the power cord and USB Cable missing. This was my first experience with returning an item to Amazon. The onlne form for returns would not recognize my network attached printer, so I called the 800 number and was most impressed with the prompt and couteous handling. She ordered a replacement shipped that day and helped me straighten out the printing problem so I could print a prepaid return label for the one with missing parts.
Amazon Visa cards provide a 3% reward for Amazon purchases. That plus free shipping for orders over $25, 3rd party vendors providing alternative new/used choices for most any book or DVD have made Amazon the site I check first when shopping. "
"I ordered one item from amazon and it was defected. So I returned it,and they sent new one.
However, the new one was defected too, so I had to return to get my refund.
Everything was clear in Amazon, but the Chase bank chaged me with late fee $15 and $29 for my returned item.
I just figured out that even you return, it takes a little time to reflect in Chase bank.
I called the Amazon, and they said I need to call the Chase.
So I called the Chase, and they said I need to pay the late fees, becasue I did not pay the bill in the due day.
I was confused why I had to pay the bill if I returned the item to get refund.
The returned item was not reflected to the Chase for a while, and I had to pay the at least minimum to avoid the late fee.
THIS IS SO RIDICULOUS, EVEN I EXPLAINED TO THE REPRESENTIVE, SHE DID NOT LISTEN TO ME BUT EXPLAIN THE POLICY.
I HAD TO PAY THE LATE FEE.
AND
I DECIDE TO CLOSE ALL ACCOUNT FROM AMAZON AND THE CHASE BANK.
NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM AMAZON
NEVER OPEN THE ACCOUNT FROM CHASE BANK"
"Horrible ... Horrible ... Horrible store. I am a regular online buyer and have not seen this degraded service ever. They put up some things on sale on their site and I bought them, got a confirmation email too. Then after waiting 5 days I decided to just check the status, and to my surprise the girl told me the order is on hold as the billing address was not correct. What a JOKE, I’ve used the same credit card for years to buy stuff for thousands of dollars. But she forwarded the case to the billing. Today I get an email saying that the order is canceled, without any explanation why. I called back to check and another "informed" rep says that the order was canceled but does not have a reason no can she put me to anyone who can give me a reason. She says I can put the order again but will not get the same discounted price, and then it struck me what's going on. They are horrible merchants and 1st grade liars. Buyers beware on buying discounted stuff. Stay away from these SNEAKY LIARS ...."
"I received the package that was supposed to contain my Adobe CS3 Design Premium upgrade today. I opened it to find it only contained a Flash CS3 professional upgrade. I’ll be sure to not buy software that costs $600 from Amazon again, you would think with such a price tag they could check the box that they were shipping to me. It wasn't a simple mistake such as getting the Standard and Premium CS3 packages switched which only have a single word different. But, the package I received clearly has FLASH CS3 PROFESSIONAL printed on it. I purchased from Amazon because they offered the CS3 upgrade for $10 cheaper, I'll be sure to not make the mistake of buying software from them in the future."
"I ordered a list of stuff, including products from Amazon, DBRoth and Electronic Express. Everything was delivered by 4-23-2007. Amazon always beats expectations, has great selections and fair prices."
"On March 5, 2007, I ordered a new MacBook Pro 15.4" 2.16GHz Core 2 Duo notebook from Amazon, with overnight shipping for $2003.98 worth of gift certificate funds. A couple of weeks later, I started getting kernel panics all of the time, so I took it down to the Apple store. I was told there that it was most likely a bad motherboard, which was a common issue, that would be fixed under AppleCare, but it would take about a week to fix, so the Genius encouraged me to return it for replacement to Amazon. After saving all of my things, I packed it up and sent it back to Amazon. A week later, my gift certificate balance rose to $1446.00, $557.98 was missing. I contacted Amazon, and they told me that since the funds expired during the time I had the notebook, there was nothing they could do. However, since they had never told me this in the first place, I decided to contact the BBB.
About two weeks after contacting the BBB, I recieved an email that because I had returned so many things to Amazon, my account was now closed and I was now out any funds on my account. It is true that I had returned two of these notebooks before, but they really did have issues. One had a bad chip of memory on the graphics card, which would cause corruption in 3D applications, and the other had issues with I/O, mainly IR communication, both of which were hardware issues, and vital to the opearation of the computer. After this fiasco, I'm perfectly fine with no longer shopping at Amazon, even after being a customer since around 1997, but being out over $2000 is a HUGE problem."
"BAD, HORRIBLE customer service!!! This is ridiculous!!!
I always bought stuff from Amazon for several years now. These last couple of days though, all they gave me were headaches. I preordered two copies of an online game, and was eligible to receive two bonus keys for them. I only got one, and had to go through some email messages and only got my rightfully owned second key the following afternoon. I already knew I would order a third copy of the game for a friend of mine, so I asked Amazon in advance about how to proceed and they replied that all I had to do was preorder normally and send an email asking for the third bonus key. Guess what... not only did they NOT give me my third key, but they LOCKED my account, because some stupid worker in there thinks I am 'up to something' or something like that! WAY TO GO! Amazon just lost one honest and faithful customer. GREAT SERVICE HUH"
"I've ordered many things from Amazon and have never had any troubles, I would highly recommend Amazon especially if they have the lowest price for something (which they usually do)"
"As a new user of resellerratings.com, and a long-time customer of Amazon, I am surprised at how low their rating is, compared with that of other on-line retailers. I have placed dozens of orders with Amazon, and in general I have been very satisfied. I like them for many reasons:
1. Selection is fantastic, typically with good prices.
2. For items that are in stock, shipment is prompt.
3. User opinions are generally unbiased and very helpful. Often these users discuss details that I would not have considered in making my purchase.
4. Security is very good, thankfully.
I only have two complaints:
1. If an item is not in stock, it can take a very long time to arrive. On one or two occasions, I have had to cancel an order after getting tired of waiting. To Amazon's credit, they don't charge you until the item arrives, making it easy to cancel an order.
2. Shipping costs can really add up. For frequent customers, Amazon Prime is a good deal to mitigate shipping costs. Super Saver shipping also keeps costs low for cases in which you can wait an extra 7-10 days. My experience with Super Saver shipping has been better than that of many other raters. If you need items fast, pay the bill, join Amazon Prime, or find another vendor."
"When I ordered the Remanufactured iRobot Scooba from Amazon, the price was $209.99. I checked the price today and it was lowered to $169.99. A quick call to Amazon and I was refunded $40.00! I highly recommend shopping at Amazon - the customer service is amazing!"
"Amazon.com had the best price I could find on PhotoShop Elements IF I opted for free shipping ($77.99). I ordered, then waited a week before the item shipped, and another week before the item arrived USPS (talk about a slow boat....). Amazon is generally up-front about the delay to expect with free shipping, but, in this day and age, free shipping should not come with such a penalty. Not handling the order more expeditiously probably cost Amazon my business.
Had I ordered from, for example, B&H Photo, I would have paid about $15 more, but I would have had the item in less than half the time."
"Bought a book online from them and i was very pleased with the order. Thank you amazon."
"New Order:
I placed an order for a Timex watch on Saturday, June 30th. As it qualified for free shipping, I decided to take advantage of that. The order stated that the estimated delivery was set for July 5 to July 12 once it shipped on Tuesday, June 26, which was a little far off. I was pleasantly surprised when it showed up on Thursday, June 28.
The item was exactly what I had ordered and worked without problems. I have ordered multiple times from Amazon in the past and each time I have been very satisfied with the outcome.
Previous Order:
Placed an order for MS Money 2007 Deluxe and a book on 03/21 with Free Super Saver Shipping. The order shipped the next day and it arrived on 03/24. Items were exactly as stated. A very good experience, although it should be noted that both items purchased were from Amazon and not a 3rd party.
The only issue I would mention would be about the listing for MS Money on Amazon.com. I found it listed multiple times when searching for it. The one I ordered was listed at $50, but at 50% off for $25. They had another listing for it for $50, plus separate listings for other stores that were selling it through Amazon. Amazon needs to come up with a better way to list items once and then within that item show all the vendors selling the item.

"I once gave amazon.com a very satisfied review, and it was my favorite internet retailer.
I have to withdraw this "very satisfied" for the moment due to slow shipping and inaccurate stock notices (a book I could not order for two day shipping - out of stock - is still shown "in stock")
The only reason that I do not give a negative rating is, that I don't see a true alternative to Amazon at this time in regard to price, available titles, and quality of their website.
I hope they improve their shipping and the accuracy of their stock notices (and the packaging, by the way: large shipments of books get thrown into one box without extra fillers, and so the big books damage the smaller ones).
I want to like you, Amazon, as I am a true book lover. Make this liking a bit easier for me, will you?"
"I must admit I'm a huge Amazon customer and over the years have purchased probably hundreds of books, CDs, DVDs, electronics products -- even a vacuum from them. This is the place I check first for most everything I buy online. I find prices nearly always to be the best, especially when you use their "Amazon Prime" service (an annual fee that gives you unlimited 2-day shipping on most everything for no additional cost -- it easily pays for itself if you buy a lot). My experience where Amazon does not have the "best price" tends to be on major electronics purchased (DSLR, Lens, Phones) -- but I've been surprised and bought some of these types of items from Amazon as well. Smart shoppers will compare total price (with tax and shipping) and availability before making their decision. Products ship as promised. When there is an issue, proactive notification takes place providng me the option what to do. The website is easy to use. The two or three times over the years UPS has lost (or more likely mis-delivered) an order, Customer Service immediately sent a replacement at no charge without hassle. Great customer service in every way and a company I'll continue to use in the future."
