"I have shopped with amazon for years now, I can't really remeber having a bad expirience with them. Anything that has gone wrong, amazon has worked with me to fix. I've used supersave shipping on many occasions in the past and havn't experienced the delays some reviewers complain about. My last purchase, a camera, was shipped 2 days after the purchase date (which was a sunday). Also, The price dropped 10 dollars from the time of purchase that morning to that night, and amazon refunded me the ten dollars the next day when I contacted them by email. No other internet store has my confidence as amazon does, until I have a bad expierence I will continue to trust them as I do."
"I ordered shoes from the Website. I received the items really fast and in promised condition. I would say that at Amazon, you can find any item you want in somewhat lower price than other e-tailers."
"Time and time again, Amazon is my preferred retailer for computer software, books, movies, and everything in-between.
They consistantly have great prices, and coupled with free shipping and no sales tax, I find myself ordering from them all the time.
My latest order of WoW: The Burning Crusade, came four days after I placed the order, using Super Saver Shipping. This is mostly because I live close to one of their shipping facilities, but my order is almost always processed and shipped out the same or next business day.
In the dozens of orders I've placed in the last few years, I've never had an issue with getting the wrong item or excessive shipping time. The one time my item didn't ship when I choose 2-day shipping, I called customer service and got them to waive the shipping fee. A+ for fixing the problem.
Overall, I will continue to shop here for as long as they provide the great service I've received for all my past orders."
"Amazon has not delivered a refund for this order. I submitted the refund request in a timely manner and followed their rules, but I am still waiting for the refund."
"The free super saver shipping is an absolute joke. Ordered an in stock item 2 days before Christmas, didn't get it till the END of January.
Recently placed 2 other orders with Amazons "partners" for audio CD's.....both said the item would ship the next day. It's now a week later and neither has shipped. "
"This is my first time writing a review for Amazon, but probably the 1000th time I've ordered from them. In all my experiences, Amazon has been a great company to order from. Their prices are competitive, shipping is quick, and free shipping on many items really sweetens the deal. On a few rare occasions, I've had the issue where an item that was out of stock doesn't get shipped for days even when it comes back in stock. These issues have been rare.
I don't order from third party vendors on Amazon, so I can't comment on that aspect.
The one thing I really like about Amazon is that if you order something that's in stock, 99.9% of the time, you'll get it without any issues. This is in stark contrast to my experience with Abebooks where an in stock book never shipped even though my credit card was charged immediately.
The one real negative comment I have about Amazon would be some of their promotions that they run from time to time. They created this huge hype over the Nintendo Wii console saying that they would have them available for sale during a seven hour window or something like that. It turns out that they only had a handful and everyone wasted their time sitting around waiting for them to go on sale. It was quite poorly executed."
"Over past 7 years I have purchased at least 50 items from amazon and always had great experience. I purchased lots of books. Over past 6 months I purchased Electric lawn mower, carpet shampooer, convection oven, multimeter etc. from them all item arrived within expected time, and in excellent condition "
"College Students trying to save $$ on shipping beware of the Free Super Saver Shipping. I placed an order (01/17/2007) that was in stock at the time of purchase and on the shipping caption said would ship in 5-7 days with the Free Super Save Shipping and has not yet arrived. Had to cancel this portion of my order. I have had good experiences with Amazon.com but this instance really irked me. My future textbook purchases will more likely be done through ebay.com/half.com or Amazon Marketplace."
"Amazon.com is simply the best. They ship quickly. I have spent thousands of dollars with this company over the last few years. I have purchased books, camera equipment, toys, clothing, DVD's, CD's, cosmetics, and most recently grocery items. I have on occasion, had a few problems with orders that were damaged in transit and Amazon's customer service remedies the problem by sending a replacment ASAP and providing a shipping label for me to use to ship back the damaged goods. Pretty darn easy huh?
I purchased online A LOT, several times a week sometimes and the bottom line is that I have NEVER experienced any headaches like my horrible experiences with other online retailers.
Try asking Buy.com to ship out a replacement for a damaged item. It will take three weeks, not good if you are dealing with a gift item.
Anyway, kudos to Amazon. A big big, company with excellent customer support. I just signed up for Amazon Prime which I love!!!!!!"
"Ordered a Creative xmod on January 21st at night, around 8pm or so. This item qualified for free shipping, which is supposed to add a couple more days to process the order and ship. I was ilke, waiting a couple days to save a couple bucks doesn't bother me, so I did it.
I got an email that night to auto-confirm my order. The estimated ship date was Jan 26 and arrival date was Feb 2-8.
Instead, I got an email the very next day saying my ordered had already SHIPPED. That was awesome surprised #1. #2 happened today. My arrival ETA was January 26. My xmod actually came today, Jan 25th at around 7am. Weeee.
Their turnaround time sure did surprise me based on the other reviews I've read about amazon.com Not to mention their price on the xmod was GREAT, more than $10 lower than the next company.
So far my xmod seems to be working great. (xmod's build quality seems flimsy at the top, but that's not amazon's fault).
I was supposed to get this a few days after my Logitech Z-2300's come in (next week), but looks like I'll be waiting a couple of days for my speakers instead :-p"
"Since www.resellerratings.com forbids making multiple posts for the same company, I’ll throw in an update here at the top...... (Feb 2, 2007). No other way to do this. Sorry ‘bout that..
I managed to get a message out to Amazon’s corporate HQ at Seattle. Jeff Bezos’ staff must have thought it worth investigating because at his instruction, his office instructed one of the Amazon top level troubleshooters to contact me, which they did, Monday, Jan 29 ’07.
Eric Layne, Amazon troubleshooter, called and explained the how’s and why’s of Amazon’s relationship with the stores that buy + sell thru Amazon. He stated he understands Amazon has customer service problems. The #1 complaint I stressed to Mr. Layne was the absence of any telephone number (not even an email) on those confirmation messages that one receives after placing an order. I explained I couldn’t find a telephone number anywhere at Amazon’s website. I finally found the ***-***-**** number at:
http://clicheideas.com/amazon.htm,
which is a most interesting article that makes it very plain that I’m not the first customer to fall victim to abundant frustration. If you have a few minutes, pursue the above link. It is worth your trouble.
Considerable time and energy was wasted, just finding this number, not that it did any good. However, Mr. Layne told me directly, in no uncertain terms, that Amazon has set a priority this year to clean up their act on customer service. He said THERE WILL BE phone numbers appearing soon, in conspicuous locations, on Amazon’s website, and there will be further improvements as well. He gave me his direct phone number, with the invitation to call him anytime if my situation was not resolved satisfactorily. Mr. Layne also indicated Amazon will be reevaluating their policies regarding firms that sell merchandise through Amazon, with a twist towards more careful scrutiny of said firms........ I hope Mr. Layne is correct. Improvements are certainly needed.
Time will tell................

"Customer Service Repeatedly Lied to Me!
I ordered a sale item from Amazon and they ran out. Fair enough. They sent me a notice asking me to approve a delayed shipping date. I did so. A month later I get an email that since I didn't confirm the delayed ship date they have cancelled my order. I email them and say no, I did approve the delay. They say no you didn't. I am getting steamed and email them back again.
At that point the CSR admits that yes I did confirm the delay, but they were not going to send it to me.
Lying to customers is terrible business. I have ordered thousands of dollars of books and other merchandise from Amazon, but never again."
"They have had their hiccups, (I got a used wireless router, but they cross shipped a new one overnight). I have pruchased 27 times last year. 1 problem, immediately resolved. Overall, they have been much much better than buy.com (worst service ever - Buy.com shipped me an empty box and has so far refused a refund)."
"UPDATE 1/20/2007: No sooner had I entered my review about the delays in getting my book, than I got another 'your order has been delayed' email, extending the delivery estimate until March 2007 (3 to 3+1/2 months from initial order). I immediately called customer service to inquire how people who sign up for premier membership can get the book in 2 days -- yet I have to wait yet again. The C/S rep was very blunt and explained to me this was one of the benefits of getting a premier membership. And so, I immediately cancelled the order. I will be terminating my Amazon Visa immediately as well. Never will I do business with them again.
INITIAL REVIEW 1/19/2007: Placed an order for the book "The Champion Within" on December 2. Seven weeks have passed and the book STILL HAS NOT SHIPPED!!!!! When I ordered, it was anticipated to be delivered early January. It's now January 20, I still don't have the book -- yet Amazon is giving them away FREE if I sign up for a $79 premier Amazon membership!
"Through this special promotional offer, you'll get all of the following:
- The Champion Within: FREE
- Two-Day Shipping: FREE (continental U.S. only, restrictions apply)"
So if I cough up $80 bucks, I can have the book in two days -- but if I pay the advertised retail price, maybe I'll be lucky to have it in two months??? When I ordered it, the 'usually ships in' time was 3-4 weeks. It's now advertised at 4-6 weeks -- yet as stated above -- pony up the premier bucks and you can have it in two days.
No thanks, Amazon. I'll take my business elsewhere. If only Amazon treated their customers like Newegg...

"Ordered a Canon Ex430 Flashgun and a Canon photographic backpack. As in all my numerous dealings with Amazon, goods arrived very quickly, despite choosing free shipping, and were correct and in perfect condition. "
