"I just got done rating some resellers very low.
I thought I better balance it by rating my recent experiences with Amazon which are very positive. Amazon is very reliable, has excellent customer service and all things being equal I love doing business with them.
Every now and then they have some killer deals which makes things exciting. However Amazon does seem to have more then there fair share of pricing mistakes.
My only gripe with Amazon is the inability to filetr out all the third parties and search only from product sold by Amazon. That can make searching and sorting very frustrating."
"Having recently discovered this site, I have decided to give some props to my favorite retailer, the online corporate behemoth known as Amazon. While they appear to have a somewhat below-average customer rating, I wish to state that not once have these people let me down. Hundreds of orders I have placed, thousands of dollars I have spent with them over the years, and only twice was it necessary to contact their customer service reps, once for a deadbeat Amazon Marketplace retailer (they credited my account,) and once for a RMA, which was issued immediately, along with a replacement item and an apology, all this before I even got the defective item in the box to send back to them. All emails have been answered by an actual human in less than 24 hours. All items have been appropriately packaged. On the one or two occasions there has been a shipping delay, they emailed me about it. So, in spite of their great size, they seem to run an efficient operation, and as long as this pattern of competitive prices and good service continue, they are going to keep getting my money. "
"I have placed numerous orders with Amazon over the years. I can't think of any other online merchant I've had better experiences with. On the rare occasion I've had a problem, making a return has been extremely easy and smooth. The super saver shipping is sometimes a little slow, but what do you expect for free shipping? If you order from them more than a few times a year, the Prime membership is worth it, as you get free two-day shipping on everything (if sold direct from Amazon). Be wary of items sold by resellers on Amazon, they aren't always as reliable and usually charge an arm and a leg for shipping (which is not listed until you purchase). Also watch out for items that are on backorder (1 week or more shipping estimate)--it can take longer than you think for these items to arrive. I try to stick to items in stock and sold directly by Amazon and I've never had any trouble. A little more expensive than discount retailers? Perhaps, but worth the smooth process to me."
"I TRIED to make a purchase during amazon's big toy sale. WHAT A JOKE! I have set up a petition for customers who have had the same experience or similar with this store. Please take a moment to read and sign it! don't let them keep getting away with this nonsense! THANKS!!

"Ordered a Canon XTi with amazon.. Very fast shipping.. everything came in perfect conditions.. will buy from them again!"
"I've always had good experiences with Amazon.com.
The only little thing that bothers me is that it's impossible to find their customer service phone number (800‑201‑7575) ANYWHERE on their site!"
"I placed an order on Amazon.com for Geomag Magnetic Challenge on May 22, 2007. The price was extremly low ($5.13). I received an email confirming the order. Next day, I was checking my order, and subrisingly it was cancelled. Amazaon didn't send me any email saying why it was cancelled. I called their customer service and all what they said that it was cancelled because it wrongly priced. First, it is not my problem that Amazon has a wrong priced the item. IT IS THEIR FAULT. I should have received the item as posted on their website. Second, at least they should have send an appology to me. Third, if Amazon doesn't care about its reputation and their customers, then pardon me, I will think hundred times before ordering through a merchant who doesn't care about his customers
UPDATE: Amazon sent an email to me appologizing and saying that they review the cost of their items during shipping"
"Ordered a 50" plasma TV, not a comfortable thing to do online. Product was delivered with Amazon's described "white glove" service. TV was delivered on time, opened in house, set on stand and plugged in before I accepted delivery. Very satisfied with the service and price."
"Ordered a new $600 ice cream maker.
Got a refurbished one instead.
It is basically an act of fraud.
Submitted a review - they did not publish it"
"Have ordered books from Amazon many times. They often have the best prices for the books, and I have never had any problems with them so far."
"Free shipping over $25, and all the books in stock - yet a shipping out date 7 weeks future (June 15, 2007). Changing this to piad shipping, and immediately half the order is dispatched same day and the rest to follow "at no extra cost". Why could they not do the same for their BS free shipping? No proper contact point provided. Amazon may be successful but are way overrated."
"ordered a juicer on march 29th 2007. It said 2 to 4 weeks delivery. On an instock item. long but ok.
It is now may 14th. 6 weeks and still nothing.
.........waiting........."
"Ordered a Samsung 42" Plasma TV from Amazon on a Sunday, due mostly to the great price and free shipping. I was definitely nervous about making such a large purchase online, but it could not have went smoother. I received bunches of confirmation emails, as well as a tracking number for Eagle Global Logisitcs who handled shipping (I was also able to track through their website). The TV arrived 5 days earlier than Amazon originally predicted, and it was in perfect shape.
To top it all off, the price of the TV I ordered dropped $50 a couple days later...I emailed Amazon, and they refunded me the $50 thanks to their 30 day price guarantee. All in all, a good experience. "
"Amazon has lost it's lustre. I made the mistake of ordering an iPod from them as a gift for somebody because I figured that Amazon was more reputable than other discounters, and if they said it was in stock, I could believe them.
Ha! I ordered on May 5 thinking I'd get it within a week. When it still hadn't shipped 3 days later, I realized I'd made a mistake and it wasn't worth it and logged in to cancel the order so I could buy one locally. The Amazon site said YOU CAN'T CANCEL THE ORDER BECAUSE IT'S SHIPPING. Fine. Now 3 more days later it still says it's being "prepared for shipment," and I should not expect the item for another 7 to 12 days (!). What a racket. "
""One-Click" Amazon Ordering Needs Instant Confirmation!
I'd swear I didn't '1-click'; certianly NOTHING HAPPENED SUGGESTING AN ORDER WAS PLACED! But Amazon E-Mailed "Order Received" within the hour & Trackung then said "no Cancelations" tho the '2-Day' "Shipped" Notice came only 3 hours later.
Amazon needs to key "One-Click" to a "Pop-Ups Must be Allowed" notice so they can instantly confirm order placement with a customer option to back out [or some other solution].
Their folks, after some E-Mails, did offer a solution, but seem not in the loop re Improvements - thus this note which I hope someone with authority at Amazon reads,
