"Buying from Amazon is a great experience. I had bought a few products and they delivered to me on time.
Thanks Amazon."
"Extortion of money, enabling addiction to shopping "
"Thank you for doing what you said you would do, thank you for sending me what i ordered "
"I love shopping on Amazon, even though you still need to do price comparisons. Sometimes their prices are good, sometimes not, and I did like 2 day shipping with Prime. However, they have really dropped the ball on shipping times. About 75% of the time , the shipping turns into 3 days. Most things, that doesn't matter, but occasionally you need an item quickly and get shot down with the extra day. If you advertise 2 day shipping, then stick to it!!"
"I purchase a lot of things from Amazon ranging from food to pet items to household goods. Lately the quality of their service has gone way down. Twice in the past 3 months I've been charged for the exact same order. The first time was 3 duplicate charges and the second time it was 1 duplicate. They do give you the authorization code but due to the error it takes my bank a good 5 days to give the money back. It isn't the bank's fault but it's frustrating nonetheless. Amazon's business practices have grown extremely sloppy. "
"I find I can get relatively good rates using the prime member free 2 day shipping (for cost of membership which has gone up a lot for monthly subscription). I appreciate their movies that I can view included in the prime, love using alexa with their echo, easy to order for my kindle fire and audible books ( sales on audible has gone up), I do book share and relatively good customer service, not the worst, as I have been able to get through to customer service and they do try hard to please me or work with me, just disappointed that the monthly membership went up to $12.99 from $10.99 but the annual is still the same price and I am considering doing that instead in the future just hard for me to budget for it.
I also like being able to use their smile account, so that a percentage of my purchase goes to a nonprofit of my choice, and price compare.
I also enjoy some of their original shows. So I won't be boycotting them, but won't order as much as I used to when I lived in the country and couldn't price shop for some basic goods. "
"First, the invoice used to submit these comments is simply to be able to post comments, however, this is about Amazon in general. After using this entity (I will NOT call them an "organization" because they are not ... organized) for over 16 years, I just don't get the attraction.
Many times the prices are not any more competitive than any other retailer, bricks-and-mortar or online, and quite often are even more than other retailers. At one time this entity offered prices that were much more competitive than any other retailer. Regardless of prices, the service with this entity is by far the worst. The worst shipping, the worst packaging (for YEARS! Adequate packaging is a hit or miss proposition, mostly "miss"), the worst billing, questionable (VERY questionable) security, terrible communications (NONE!) and the list of Amazon "fails" could fill a volume on this forum.
It's my theory that favorable comments about this "disorganization" come from those with limited or no mobility (lack of transportation, etc) from the numerous comments or "reviews" we scanned through. Additionally, as other customers have commented, $100 for a feature called "Prime", for a company notorious for its inefficient, poor shipping, for prices that are no better than many other retailer and, again, many times more, lots more?
As a recent example, we placed a small order with Ape-azon to see if service had improved. One order, same item, however, the items were shipped separately, for an order totaling less than $40! The items were poor quality and subsequently returned. Ape-azon issued two separate UPS shipping labels, again, same item, same order (one order). The debits for the return are trickling in, separately, three different debits (credits) to our credit card. Insignificant? Not when customers have to monitor that all charges were credited to a credit card, with a full schedule of other important tasks (like OUR customers!) to worry about. This is not an isolated incident. It is just one of the reasons we took a long break from using Amazon. To repeat, the list of horrendous Amazon "fails" with poor shipping, uncompetitive prices, lack of communication channels, inefficient order processing, etc., etc., etc. can go on seemingly forever.
From a lengthy professional business background, where effortless, efficient communications, stellar customer support and so forth made the difference between success and failure, lost revenue, as well as having a long history of investing (stocks), I have an even more difficult time understanding how this corporate debacle's stock can be trading at $1,300 per share (yeah, that's right, one THOUSAND three hundred!). That absolutely baffles me. Apparently U.S. consumers have settled for anything other than even adequate service and support."
"over the last year or two i’ve realized that most of the stuff sold by amazon itself is crappy and amazon as reseller itself has seemingly become a place for getting rid of low quality products that probably could not be sold by higher quality establishments/out of brick and mortar store shelves. i bought regular drugstore quality boxed dye fulfilled by amazon, package had already been pryed open. my dad bought a cell phone holder, broken. matcha tea, expiration date removed. a supposedly amazing noncomedogenic skin product that was supposed to moisturize, did nothing but clog pores. on and on. in addition, prices for household items don’t seem to be higher than at target or other large retailers, if the product can even be found not in bulk, so i stopped even looking for those. for the harder to find items that i must shop online for, i used to think if a product was fulfilled or sold by amazon i could trust the quality, but my experiences and those of my family have consistently proven otherwise. and i can see i’m not alone - in reading reviews of products sold by or fulfilled by amazon, it seems that often there are a number complaining that the product that received seemed fake and unlike what they are used to buying elsewhere or that that product was opened/expired/missing something/ broken. in fact, in looking in the q&a sections of the product pages or when going to the website of the original manufacturer of several of the products i purchased, the companies even disclaim that they cannot stand by the quality of their products that are sold/fulfilled by third party vendors such as amazon.
unfortunately, amazon has a double standard for itself and does not let its customers review it as a seller on its own site, although you can review other sellers. that in itself says so much. and so here i am, where i can share my experience. on the upside, if anything is outwardly defective the return process is simple and amazon customer service has been good in my experience - the one time they credited me back the wrong amount, they immediately fixed it. i have never had an issue with their customer service, though i see plenty of others here have, so i'm not sure what to make of that.
as a result of my experiences in the last year or two, i generally no longer trust amazon enough to purchase items sold or fulfilled by them. instead, if i need to purchase something from a smaller manufacturer that i find on amazon, i now go directly to their own website, if they have one, where i can be sure i’m getting the real thing and there is an assurance of quality and accountability."
"Why the scores are so low! I always bought things on Amazon, they do not let me down ever once!"
"Been a prime member for two years. Will definitely stay a member. Awesum amazon"
"i receive a damaged package over 60days, but want to refund the package is refused!!!"
"VERY BAD EXPERINCE AS ON EVERY LINE OF ME THEY GIVE ON REFERENCE TO THERE POLICY ONLY"
"Never had a problem on 20 orders+"
"Dear Sirs,
I order a wardrobe on AMAZON.in (Order #407-9825351-5560332) with HomeTown a subsidiary of Indian Future Group. Order was placed on Thursday, January 4, 2018 and delivered on January 14.
The product was not conform as it proved impossible to put together, due to some misconception or error in the production process : holes for wooden pegs and screws were not matching.
Since January 14, I have tried to get some one form either Amazon and/or HomeTown, to organise the return and refund. Nobody, either at Amazon and/or at HomeTown seems to care about the multiple emails, and complaints sent this January 14.
On a regular basis I received from the Seller Home Town message announcing that the pick-up for return and refund will be organised soon (in the next 24 hours, then in the next 48 hours, then in the next 72 hours).
In the meantime, Customer Services from Amazon sends messages that are just showing they do not care about putting pressure on the seller.
At the end nothing happens.
HomeTown keeps informing Amazon that I refused/canceled the pick-up.
Amazon keeps sending BS messages.
The worse is that Amazon refused to publish my review because it was too negative for them and the Seller.
Last occurence, not later than yesterday is that my Security Guard who called on my behalf (I do not speak Hindi and it seems that people at HomeTown does not speak English) was informed that our response was too late and pick-up is cancelled.
All of that reflects very badly on AMAZON.IN and on HOMETOWN/FUTURE GROUP.
So I strongly recommend to be very careful before ordering with AMAZON.in or with HomeTown.
Best regards,
Jacques Loubert"
"To a previous reviewer...Amazon will not dominate the online market EVER if they persist in bad customer service. Fortunately I have never had a problem with getting my products quickly. But if I need to return and actually get my money BACK, it’s a nightmare. Purchases no longer come with a packaging slip or receipt. Since I bought many items at once this time, that would have helped. Needed to return a few items and took them up on their new offer to leave returns at Kohl’s. My items are still “lost” 3 weeks later. Amazon “customer service” tells me there’s nothing they can do, but they at least said it very politely. Ugh!"
