"Amazon does not require their vendors to honor their posted prices. In my case, "Coco Island" listed bulk chopsticks at a price very close to the competition. Instead of sending product, Amazon allowed them to claim a "pricing error". Until Amazon requires professional action from their sellers, Amazon will continue to get bad reviews on resellerratings. Amazon refused to show my negative review of the transaction."
"I have used Amazon.com for YEARS, and have never had a single problem, until today. I am always able to shop around for the best prices, and view ACCURATE locations (unlike other certain sites that will say the seller is located in California, and you receive a package from another country entirely).
The issue I discovered today, (I have many packages in transit at this current moment and have received some way ahead of schedule) was a package that was ahead of schedule for delivery, yet the carrier marked it un-deliverable and returned it to seller stating "incorrect address". As I have already received some packages from the same order, I called Amazon to see what happened. The rep. contacted the carrier, and then contacted the actual seller to get the information necessary to discover the issue. They informed me that I will be contacted within 72 hours with a resolution and if I do not receive the package, they will issue me a refund in full.
On my own, I contacted the carrier company to see if the problem was temporary (most of my packages are being delivered by that carrier) to discover that it was an issue with the delivery person, and that the address is correct and showing as an active address, and was informed that I should receive the package and all further packages as this rep. was providing further instructions to the driver.
The issue may not fully be resolved, but I know I will receive my packages or get a full refund, even though the issue was not the fault of the seller or Amazon and that is the definition of great customer service.
All other packages have been delivered safely and I love getting the surprise of an early delivery! Since we have been having a lot of snow, my packages have also been wrapped in plastic to protect against the weather. "
"I use Amazon to buy for work - every day. I have constant dealings and it is always easy - even when there is an issue, they handle it. I even use smile.amazon.com, which allows a certain percentage of my purchases to be donated to a charity of MY choice. THUMBS UP"
"I've been a high volume Amazon customer for many years. Recently Amazon engaged in fraud. I've curtailed my purchases (often over $500 per month), in order to withdraw financial support. I'm writing this review to save fellow consumer the trouble I've experienced.
Bottom line is: If Amazon sends you "new" product that clearly isn't new, send it back immediately.
My experience was that I purchased a back up camera system for my 1991 Recreational Vehicle (RV) and it arrived missing a critical part. I requested a replacement. It arrived and I found that it, too, was defective. NEITHER UNIT WAS IN FACTORY PACKAGING. I mixed-and-matched the two back up camera systems, made one working unit, and installed it on my RV. That involves drilling holes in the body, and considerable time. The instructions were virtually worthless, but I have electronics experience and was able to puzzle it out. I returned bad unit--actually mixing the parts from the two shipments, as I had culled them to make one working unit. Amazon NEVER acknowledged or commented on the shipment of used merchandise instead of new; I reported it verbally and in writing.
Within days I discovered that the camera unit itself had a condensation problem. I tried to contact the seller, a Chinese manufacturer call Ducooler and Xie Ju Ming. It had an inoperative website. I wanted a replacement camera, because I'd already drilled holes in my RV. Amazon told me that Amazon no longer sells the product. I asked for another back up camera from the Amazon website, preferentially one that had minimal return history and that WASN'T A RETURN by someone else. Amazon would not oblige. All the while I'm dealing with people in foreign call centers who were either not helpful or not empowered by their employer to remedy problems.
Amazon did offer to accept return of the second back up camera. To make a long story short, I found another manufacturer who offered a camera system that has a 2 yr guarantee, good instructions, phone support, etc.. So I removed the Ducooler camera and returned it to Amazon.
Here's where the fraud comes in. I received an email from Amazon saying that my credit was subject to a $15.20 "restocking fee". I emailed Amazon back, reminding them that they had already sent me used merchandise instead of new, and that this camera was defective, so How Could They Restock it? Obviously, it should not be sent to yet another "victim". I sent the email, and it bounced. Amazon had sent its email to me, unsigned, from an email address that doesn't accept replies!
What I've left out of this narrative is that each step in the process took many minutes, with some phone calls lasting over an hour, trying to establish the most basic actions. My level of frustration was very high. This took place between Sept 2015 and Feb 2016, and has eroded my confidence and loyalty to shopping Amazon. Since September I have stopped purchasing from Amazon, which is the only way I have of sending them a message, as there seems to be insulation between Amazon's foreign call centers and whoever is making decisions at Amazon corporate.
This is obviously not about the $15.20. It's about the corporate sickness that could allow this whole scenario to occur. I've had to return things before, and it was never an issue. I've spent thousands of dollars with Amazon. There was one occasion, years ago, where I received two shipments of an Altec-Lansing iM7 boom box. Both were used, although sold as new. The second one was visibly used, but it worked so I kept it. I reported it in a review on Amazon.com.
In the current case, it is obvious from my communications with Amazon that they are selling junk, that is to say defective merchandise that has been returned. They put it back and the shelf and send it to someone else. Perhaps their business model is that eventually someone will just keep the defective merchandise and not ask for a refund?
Repeating my "Bottom Line" advice to you, fellow consumer: Either don't use Amazon, or keep Amazon on a very short leash. If you receive anything that is supposed to be new, but isn't, return it immediately.

P.S. I called the credit card company about the $15.20 "restocking fee" and asked how I could dispute a charge that was originally made in September, for which a (too small) credit was issued yesterday (Feb 8). Hearing the details, the credit card company placed the credit in dispute. But as I said, this in not about the money, it's about the breach of trust with Amazon. If it were possible, I'd file in small claims court in order to establish that Amazon is engaging in Fraud. But the amount of money and damages are too small to go that route. Instead, I'm leaving reviews for other shoppers in the hopes that they won't get stung."
"I love most of Amazon, but I'm super disappointed in the new return process.
Also super disappointed that they reject product reviews that contain negative comments about Amazon.
They allow humorous reviews, reviews that are clearly not for the product listed, unintelligible reviews, and paid reviews, but they won't let me post a review that explains that I received a defective product, and *on top of that*, I'm really disappointed in the Amazon return process *for that particular product*.
Shame on you, Amazon."
"I buy a item at cyber monday in nov 2015 and dont receive the item or refund yet. I call the custumer suport and they said will be refund in one week and nothing till now. One month after nothing yet"
"I've placed hundreds of orders on amazon over the past 4 years. I've never once had a problem with shipping or returns. When you place an order, it's processed and shipped out that day or the next morning. When I need something quick with peace of mind if something is wrong, I buy from Amazon. "
"I found some items to be cheaper on Amazon than anywhere on the internet.
Great customer service as well.
5 stars "
"Let's be frank, you can get anything and everything on amazon.com and you can get it cheaper and faster if you use prime.
It's an amazing service that is setting a new bar for retail..
hail to the chief!

"I'm trying to purchase a TV on Amazon. I log in, place the TV I want to buy in my cart, select the payment (confirm the credit card number) select the correct address and the screen to Place Order comes up. I press the Place Order button and the screen pops up a spinning wheel as though the transaction is being processed, but then the screen with the Place Order button comes back up.
I've tried at least 20 times to place the order. Called Amazon and spent over an hour on the phone, had them do the "screenshare" to see exactly what is happening, and after more than an hour they say there is a technical problem on their end and can I log off and wait 2 hours and try again. (They also don't like that I'm using Firefox and keep asking me to use Google Chrome. I don't have Chrome on ANY of my three computers - two mac and one PC.) Then they ask me to delete all of my cookies and browsing history. I do that - on all three computers and every F'ing time the same thing happens. I get so fed up I go online and download Google Chrome to see if that "fixes" the issue. Same dam problem.
What's even more ludicrous, AMAZON doesn't allow purchases over the phone so even though I've allowed them to see my account and they can see the TV in the basket, and can see me push the Place Order button, they won't place the order for me! What a bunch of MORONS!
So now it's three hours later and I try again - same dam result! Call Amazon, the first woman hangs up before I even get a chance to say what is going on. Call back and go through the entire spiel again with another rep - who again asks if I can use Google Chrome (is Amazon getting a kickback from Google for every person they get to install Chrome?).
The rep says can I place you on hold and get some more information. After being on hold he comes back on and apologizes and says that unfortunately, they've sent a report to their techs, but they HAVEN"T FIXED THE PROBLEM AND CAN I TRY AGAIN IN 24 Hours. WTF!!!!
So this is a multi, multi BILLION $ company and they can't get their dam site to process an order. I'm going to demand my Amazon Prime fee back and search for another source to purchase this TV.
SCREW YOU AMAZON!!!!!!"
"I ordered two security cameras on Nov 22nd with a delivery date of Dec 11th, worth around $2000. The order was never delivered, and after 8 calls to customer support I got a refund two months later.
The only option to contact Amazon was the chat, which is based in India and the operators are not able to do anything other that ask you to "wait for 2-3 business days". Eventually (on the 7th chat session) I was given an US phone number so I could speak to somebody who could authorize the refund.
It was a horrible experience, after so much time wasted I am still left $50 short for credit card fees - Amazon refused to compensate me for that.
My advice is to never purchase anything of significant value from Amazon, they do not back up their "customer first policy" and the call center staff is completely useless."
"Love ordering from here. You can usually get free shipping or can get alerts about price changes to help you afford your purchase. Returns or exchanges have been easy. You can put a message with your package for free so the guest knows who it is from (believe it or not, other companies charge for this and/or make it tough for you to figure out how to request it). "
"Never had a late delivery and returns are so easy! They refund before the package even makes it back to them!
I love the selection of products they offer!"
"I live in New York. And I have bought earphones, and other stuff and all was fine. Shipping can be delayed sometimes, but finally the product will reach your home."
"I am always happy with my Amazon experience. I buy there and sometimes pay more to get it from them because when there is a problem with will fix it. I got a heavy uninterruptible power supply with the error light stuck on. $160 item that they said was too hazardous to ship back; keep it. They then sent another. I got a bow and arrow for my son that turned out to be MUCH smaller than expected. Really? Keep it, here's a refund. Need some last minute Christmas gifts on Christmas Eve? Free two hour delivery of lots of stuff. Prime required but I'm not complaining since I get to order those little things I need but don't want to spend the hour to go to a store to get. In a day or two. If you pay for prime Amazon is shopping heaven. The video service is good. The music service is meh. The unlimited photo upload is helpful."
