"product's order made through amazon are always late in its delivery. Where as in other competitive sites they delivered soon. I think this is one of the drawbacks of amazon"
"I love Amazon. Its my go to spot for everything. I'm a prime member, which means shipping is free (and fast) on most items. Love Love Love!"
"Amazon's customer service is terrible. I've received the wrong book, then shipped it back to them, only to receive the exact same wrong book again. This time I put the UPS shipping label on it and set it out on the front porch for UPS to pick up, and it still sits there. No way to contact Amazon about that, so I guess the package will sit at the door until someone steals it. Not happy. Very hard to talk to a person and one with authority to actually fix something."
"Do not buy jewelry from amazon. It is by far the worst dept. at amazon. I ordered a necklace, paid over $800 and never received it. Customer service stated that tracking shows that it was delivered and it is my problem to find out what happened. It should have been sent ins with signature required, but, according to customer service it was not."
"Let's start this by saying that I am not a shill. I am a VERY experienced internet shopper with MANY years of dealing with MANY different and very diverse sites. I am fully willing to go medieval on a site when necessary, even when they were once great (hello, FastTech, among others...). However, I also REALISTICALLY understand that companies are in business to MAKE MONEY! I cannot personally BELIEVE that Amazon receives such a low rating here!
4.5 out of 10 as I write this. Reading some of the reviews, I really wonder who the people are that are writing them? Is it their first experience ever making an internet purchase? They appear to me to be unable to distinguish the difference from purchasing from a third party seller and from Amazon directly, which does affect how things must be handled. "I've purchased a couple items"? "The shipping cost is too high"? Seriously?
But where the reviews really go wrong is when they denigrate Amazon's customer service! What are you people doing, contacting customer service in a rude and aggressive manor? I am mystified! In my MANY years of experience with dealing with Amazon, I have had occasion to deal with customer service on numerous occasions and they have GONE BEYOND my expectations in almost EVERY instance! AMAZON SETS THE STANDARD FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE ON THE INTERNET! Of this, there is NO DOUBT in my mind! I think their prices on CD's are too high, their pre-order prices on DVD/Blu-Rays are questionable (but THOSE are business / money making decisions)... but their customer service? IT CANNOT BE QUESTIONED!
FACTUAL EXAMPLE FROM TODAY: Ordered in stock CD from highly rated 3rd party seller, hadn't received after 20 days, contacted seller who said they would send another, but may take a few days to obtain from suppliers. Seven days later, received refund from seller who said CD was not in stock and was unavailable from suppliers. Checked on Amazon and found seller was still selling CD and still listed it as in stock. Feedback indicated others had similar experience. Left seller negative feedback. Contacted customer support just because I thought they should be aware of this, because I felt it reflected negatively on Amazon. Customer support provided me with link to investigations unit to provide report. ALSO, I AM SERIOUS HERE... customer support told me that Amazon had the CD in stock, for me to order it NEXT DAY, that they would WAVE the shipping charge and WOULD HONOR the third party seller's price, which was less than half of what Amazon was selling it for... WHY? Because that is the kind of company that Amazon is! That is no BS! That is completely true! I did not ask for it, I did not expect it. CUSTOMER SERVICE!
SO, your can listen to others whine, or you can listen to reality, its up to you...
(ADDITION: Math is NOT my strong point... but when I look at that graph over on the right, which shows OVERWHELMINGLY 5 STAR reviews for Amazon, I can't quite figure out how they end up with, as of right now, a 4.3/10 score?)
(THOUGH... it is INTERESTING to note that it appears all of the highest rated stores are MERCHANT MEMBERS of Resellerratings. That seems a strange coincidence, I must say.)"
"Amazon has the worst service ever compared to all other websites.
I had ordered a camera on 13th Oct, estimated delivery date was 27th Oct (which itself is late)
I dont receive the package even on 29th. Nobody from customercare dept also responds properly.
I regret to have chosen amazon. This was my first order...utterly disappointed"
"Amazon is always my go-to for any on line shopping. I always find the lowest prices and shipping as always been fast.
They will continue to be my top choice."
"nice website. Love the look."
"Amazon USED to be such an amazing company, now their customer service is TERRIBLE. Imagine I order a large bird cage to be delivered to my freight forwarders in Florida. The cage comes in 2 boxes but only one is delivered by Amazon. When I get the half of the cage months later in Trinidad, I let them know I only got half the cage. Mind you, Amazon NEVER contacted me to let me know there was a problem with the second delivery! Now they said they can either give me a half a refund or send a new cage IF I RETURN THE HALF THE CAGE I RECEIVED! I told them it is impractical for me to return the cage as it will cost more to ship it back than to make a new cage! To me the only solution is for them to actually complete the shipment or refund me in full as they have not honored their contract.."
"Delivered earlier than expected even on a non-prime product"
"I love this place! I shop here for everything and anything I need from A-Z. I am a prime member so the free two day shipping is awesome. I usually only shop using sellers who accept the prime membership benefits because those that don't do not honor the free two day shipping time, and therefore are nixed off my list when buying goods. "
"Offering freebees. is the only way of doing business and how to give more discount than flipcart is the only way of surviving competition.others are fast aproching and not very difficult for them to replace you from no.1 postion.any ideas ? or you are having plans to outsmart in a positive response
for buy one and get two free?can't you think differently and define and rewrite rules in marketing "
"I have bought a few cds through Amazon. The ones I buy are a little harder to find hence why I didn't buy them here in Toronto. The prices very greatly but typically they retail at reasonable prices. That said the price by the time it lands at my door becomes insane. Why, you might ask? Shipping! On average the shipping on them, new or used with these guys is well over $20. I am certain that Amazon gets a big cut from the shippers but it is only a CD. They don't weigh much and they are small. The post office would be real cheap to get them around.
So here is the hilarious part. Amazon asks me to do this review. I pointed out that I got hosed on the shipping so they sent me back an email saying "sorry, we can't post your review unless you reconsider what you are saying" and it directs me to a list of guidelines. In the guidelines it states " if you have a comment regarding shipping please direct that to our complaints department and don't try to post that in your review". Lol. The shipping made this CD; one of the top releases in 1984 and a billboard top 100 seller one of the most expensive cds I have ever bought! I am an avid music buyer and have imported cds from all over the world. This is more expensive than most of those? Amazon's reaction: "shhh! Don't tell them that." Is that a shock? Nope but the gag request is hilarious. "
"I have Amazon Prime and love it. I order weekly at the very least and saves me from shlepping to a store. Prices are usually cheaper or about the same as a local store. Paying sales tax sucks but I get the concept. I wish they had a flat rate for multiple items for next day air. "
" Amazon's deceptive ratings
I have been a long time customer of Amazon's but about 6 weeks ago they did something that I thought was weird then I complained and there was no response. I posted a rating on a software that was terrible and had good ratings on Amazon. They replied to my rating saying they could not post so I read it over and there was no bad language, nothing other than 1 star rating with an accurate statement as to why. I then learned that Amazon has hundreds or more raters that product is sent to free so they can rate it. So much for trusting their rating system. "
