Be extra careful

"Amazon.ca could have been a good help to Canadians but you cannot trust its sellers.
Amazon.ca's A-Z guaranteed refund is not always true.
Check who is the seller of a product Amazon. ca advertises.
Remember: Amazon is a middle man; like an agent on commission,
There are sellers that has their names published as the SELLER in Amazon but that seller has a different business name somewhere else.
There are seller with simply a telephone number or PO Box address. Amazon.ca itself don't know how to contact them if you have a question about a product. What Amazon will do is contact its seller by e-mail.

Do not ever try to buy a product coming from other countries outside the US or Canada because that seller can be bogus and still be an acceptable seller in Amazon.

When you complain, Canadian accounts are handled by call centers in the Philippines or chat line centers in India.
Be very careful with those call centers because they say different things to you and will make promises just to get you off the line. Return policy of Amazon does not cover those countries when the item is damaged or lost or when they send you the wrong item. Amazon will console you by giving you some postage money but not enough to cover overseas shipping.
Then you're on your own to argue your case against East Indian agents of Amazon who will likely tell you, you're wrong.

Purolator, DHL carriers will often use the Canadian postal service to deliver your product to you. If you're not home, the Canadian postman will leave a note on your door saying pick up your stuff from the post office.
Before ordering from Amazon, check the seller. Contact them directly. Google them, but unfortunately, google will only show Amazon as your contact number.

Buyers beware. If you can avoid it, go to the actual store in your neighborhood where you can find the product, test it and return it with full refund and you won't have a problem.
If you can' avoid Amazon, contact the seller directly. Sometimes, the seller is an actual online store and they also sell products on line if you buy from them directly. There are Canadian sellers in Amazon.ca that you can contact directly and buy from them. In that way, when something goes wrong, you're not given a run around as opposed to buying the product from the middleman- Amazon.ca

There are good online stores in Canada- Hudson Bay, Best Buy, Canadian Tire, Staples, Walmart is not 100% ok but if they are honest to say that if you the product you buy is not sold by Walmart, they will not issue you a refund. You and their seller solve your own problem.
Amazon. com appears to be a better middleman. Most of their sellers reside in the US and are regulated by their States.

Amazon prime offer never honored

"Please read these reviews and believe them. I tried to post on Amazon and they never approved! They hide the true Customer experience. They advertise 2 day free shipping if you choose amazon prime. Then I ordered a mattress it came in 7 days! Then I had to pick it up myself. I waited all day and Canada post lied said I missed them. I live in the states Amazon USA is far better. I will never ever purchase in canada again CANADA POST cannot track or change anything. Or redliver if you miss it. No next day! Your screwed to pick up a HEAVY ITEM! "

Try ebay first

"I ordered a vinyl LP which Amazon.ca said "One in stock...hurry order now" when it came it was some random LP. I checked and the site said the item I ordered was now sold out...later that day it said One left ...hurry order now again for the same LP
...what a misleading scam...they say one left hurry order now even when its not in stock.

Try to double charge my debit card

"On Dec I place an order, just like so many times before. On Dec 3rd I get an email notification my order has issues go to the Amazon website to check my order. I do, and it tells me I have to verify to which credit card it gets billed too. Iverify the same card, as before. 3hrs late get an email again saying the samething. So I call up their CS, end up in Philippines the girls as daft as a doorknob, I ask for supervisor after waiting 20 minutes Elvis comes on the phone, and tells me ha can't help as I am Canada. They only deal with US customers! WTH????????
So I call again, end up now with an American in Seattle, they are usually much better,. She goes into a spill about how orders are processed, I think I know been a customer for12 years, and bough hundreds of items!!!! Yes, you put a POS charge on my debit card when I order the item to see if I have the money! But now they are placing on it wice, so it gets rejected. They placed it on Dec 1, but now is Dec 3, and by placing the same amount on it once again, the debit card will not have sufficient balance and it will be declined! Instead realizing the fact what they done, they tell me to take up with the Bank who issued the debit card! Gee! So Amazon screws up, won't listen to what they done, and now I have to make call to my bank! Screw it! I cancelled the order! I can live without the 4 dvds! And When the POS temp charge is removed I will buy the DVS from someplace else! Good bye Amazon!

Horrible experience over the last few months

"So I pretty much gave up with these guys. I placed an order with 1 day shipping and after 7 days my DVDs still had not shown up. I contacted CS and they assured me it would deliver the next day. Well the next day came and went and no DVD. I cancelled my order and replaced it. However, now if you cancelled your order they say its returning to them and my money will be refunded once they get it. However it never said out for delivery so why am I waiting for it to return to them if it hasn't left the facility? SO strange. So I reordered the DVD with 1 day shipping. Again....nothing..I contact customer service and they tell me it will be here on Monday. Whats the point of one day shipping? Then I explained how frustrated I was with this whole thing and how its not fair and that I wanted my money refunded and the order cancelled and he proceeded to tell me that I had to wait until it returned to them and then 3-5 days from there I would get a refund. Excuse me what?? It hasn't even left your facility. TWICE its happened. HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE. I am escalating this problem and reporting this."

Absolute garbage

"Placed an order on Nov 17th, 4 days went by hadn't heard anything back from Amazon.ca. Contacted them on Nov 21st and was told it would ship on the 22nd and would receive it by the Nov 23rd. Get an email Nov 23rd changing the shipping date till the 25th...WHAT???....Contact them again on the 24th and told the item is now on backorder, 8 days after the original purchase. Contacted the seller on Nov 24th, they have no idea what the hell Amazon.ca is talking about it. The seller even filed a claim with Amazon.ca, asking why they were telling customers it was on backorder when it isn't. Nov 25th I get yet another email from Amazon.ca stating it was a tech error on their end and they were upgrading the shipping to priority shipping at no cost to me and it would be shipped on the the 27th, it was already priority shipping. ..lol....Contacted again by Amazon.ca on the 27th moving the shipping day again for the 4th time to Nov 28th, well it wasn't shipped on the 28th even though I received yet another email from Amazon.ca stating.."I can confirm that we still expect to ship your order on Nov 28th in time to be delivered to you by Tomorrow Nov 29th"...It's now Nov 29th and my account now says expect by Nov 30th, but the item still hasn't shipped. Did I mention they billed my card on Nov 27th which breaks there own policy, clearly states on their website that your card gets billed when order is shipped. So this is now entering it's 13th day of lies and excuses, the only reason I haven't canceled is because Amazon.ca is the only one that I can find that caries the item I purchased. Garbage customer service all around, canceling my prime membership and closing my account once I receive, if I ever do receive it, my account. .."

No Accountability

"After receiving my purchase and found it wrong, the onus was on me to pay return shipping, repay shipping for correct product, on top of duty, which was paid first time. So I cancelled and returned. Then got stung huge on restocking fees. My loss was almost $100, on an item worth less than $200. NOT acceptable. Their response... Very sad, too bad. I will NEVER shop Amazon again. Have you ever tried to close an account with Amazon... 2 months in, and still no luck. There are too many options for on-line shopping to put up with their poor business practices."

Even the Giants will Fall

"I have been using ecommerce to sell our companies products for more than 10 years and have never experienced such dreadful service and "couldn't give a crap" attitude as I have with Amazon.

Right from the start, Amazon rejected our business with their copy & paste automated responses sent from a center calling themselves "customer support" (Boy, what a contradiction in terms). After 2 weeks of struggle they finally agreed that what they had in fact received was all correct and I was finally set up to Sell on Amazon.

After 2 months attempting to list products and providing countless invoices and information stating that we are official importers and appointed distributors of the products we wish to list they continue to send the same BS copy & paste rejection responses.

I find it absolutely amazing that persons without the appointed right to sell products on Amazon can manage to do so, and persons from different countries can list on Amazon.com and Amazon.ca and where you are a legit business, they refuse and reject you.

Shame on you Amazon, and I cannot wait for the day when you stumble and fall.

All I can do after wasting money and mountains of time with Amazon is to promote how incredible it is to deal with your competitors. Kudos to E-Bay and Shopify for near perfect solutions.

I encourage **** off past and even Amazon customers to speak out and use their power to bring this ecommerce Giant to its knees. They really deserve to fall from Grace.

Remember the golden rule Amazon....you are never bigger than the customers you set out to serve!

Convenience turns into Huge Hassle

"I have been using amazon canada for a number of years now, I have never had any issues with them until recently and even went as far as to file a complaint with them using their site form. After complaining twice, in the end I was given the runaround and was told to just wait for my package to arrive and that there was nothing else they could do for me.

Background: I am not a prime member, just your average customer that adds enough items to my cart to get free shipping. This however should not mean that my packages be treated as second class and you can keep delaying/pushing back my order to the end of the line before it gets delivered, two weeks past its estimated arrival date (that's 2 weeks on top of their promise of the free shipping delivery time of 5-8 days). The item was stated as being "in stock" at time of purchase, and yet somehow they decided to ship out half my order and the last item is being shipped in from another fulfillment center which they failed to tell me about. Basically what started as a convenience buy turns into a huge hassle and money waster. The product I ordered was a plant grow light for aquarium plants, my plants will most likely suffer and die due to this extra delay, plants which cost way more then the light itself.

Needless to say, I won't be going to amazon for any time sensitive needs, let alone daily refill needs or anything of that sort, clearly they cannot handle the order load. Why even offer free shipping with specified shipping times if you cannot deliver within them.

Lesson learned, I will be christmas shopping elsewhere, I just feel like the third party shops using amazon fulfillment is getting the short end of the stick, their products are greats, but amazon shipping is bringing them down and really made me a dissatisfied customer because of it.

I had placed an order through jillcastille via WowWee. NEVER follow through with order!!!!

"Bought fingerlings throught this store on amazon.ca. shipping was two days late. I received two emails stating 1. couldnt process it 2. then couldnt confirm information. NOTE: this order was placed a month ago and order and payment confirmed!!!!

NOTE** these fingerlings are hot holiday items. I originally purchased them at $8.99. Today, if you look at this store, they are selling for $40. You can make your own guesses as to why my order was cancelled. They needed to fess up, honour the order and move on.
