"I bought a textbook from Amazon.ca, the seller never shipped the book. I asked Amazon.ca for a refund through the A-to-z Guarantee but they denied the refund. I never got the textbook I ordered. Amazon.ca is a SCAM , NEVER USE IT."
"Currently living in Canada's North (Way, way north) As in, no roads, only airplane in and out, or sealift in the summer.
Stuff may arrive late, but that's usually more Canada Post and/or the airlines' fault so far as I can tell, but even if Amazon might be late in shipping stuff sometimes, so be it, it still ALWAYS arrives. And the few times my orders managed to get lost, I got either a full refund, or a replacement shipped at no cost to me.
No other company is so reliable to order from up here - the local post office is absolutely full to bursting with Amazon boxes for customers, and it is, hands down, the cheapest way to get most items, especially if you want a mix of things (movies, socks and snacks, all at the same time!)
Free shipping still offered to our community, but was apparently revoked to most further north due to shipping costs. We just have a slightly higher amount we need to reach to get the free shipping option, but still a very reasonable amount for a minimum order.
I have never tried Prime, and am just a regular customer with a free account, so can't really compare much. But there is NO WAY that Prime could possibly guarantee their 2-day shipping here. 2-days to the airport, maybe, but food and such for the grocery stores has first priority onto the planes.
All I can say to most of the negative reviews I've read on here? If dealing with the Marketplace (those selling through Amazon) do please use some caution. If they want you to use anything other then Amazon's cart, they're not legit, send an e-mail to customer service immediately. I've never run into such a problem, but when my packages have gone missing, and I contacted Customer service, they were very quick to reply.
Only complaint is sometimes they don't pack things into the boxes well enough for the rough ride ahead of them. Usually they're packed fine (and sometimes overpacked, also fine), but occasionally things break. Amazon's always offered a replacement or refund for the things I've had break before too.
Amazon.ca did NOT ask me to write this review, found this site and was T'd off by everyone else's reviews. I'd love to know how some people seem to get free stuff from Amazon for reviews though."
"I had 2 unauthorized charges on my VISA from Amazon.ca. There was nothing recent on my account order history and this was a VISA # I had never used before with Amazon. So I contacted customer service to check into the charges. They agreed I hadn't ordered anything for 7 months and no history of using this VISA#. But they refused to tell me what the charges were for or reverse them! Thank God my VISA disputed the charges for me."
"I ordered two laptop batteries for my daughters who are in college as they were not charging and plugs at college are scarce. I ordered November 5, 2016 to avoid shipment delays from Black Friday, cyber Monday and Christmas. I received order to get laptop batteries that were not even close to what I ordered and I was charged $20.00 more per battery. Contacted Amazon and CWK Tech to get run around. Its December 1, 2016 and I have no batteries, they expected me to pay to ship back advising they would re-inverse which would be credit for Amazon, I refused and CWK Tech sent me prepaid label which according to Post office was not correct, Post Office took care to insure they paid return shipping. All I want is two laptop batteries and the company has sent 4 emails to my 20+ trying to work this out and they shipped me what appears to be same batteries, not sure have not received yet and they are delayed due to Black Friday. CWK Tech gives vague answers to email leaving you wondering what they are doing to resolve. I ask questions with no reply. Amazon keeps sending same generic response with no help. Please do not order from CWK Tech BUYER BEWARE if you do."
"Dishonest customer service. I contacted them three times regarding a return, where the seller had completely ignored my cancelling request and shipped me what I didn't need. Also the seller gave me an address in US (not in Canada) for returning. Their representatives promised me each time that they will make the seller provide me with a prepaid return label at free of cost, or else, Amazon's A-to-z Guarantee will fully reimburse me. At the end: none of these happened. and I'm supposed to pay shipping to US for returning something I don't need!"
"My son made the silly mistake of trusting Amazon.ca for TV.
Amazon let a fraudulent store name AZ-Store. Sell on their website with no accountability whatsoever. The site asked you contact them first and they will send you an Amazon Invoice. After receiving Amazon invoice, AZ-Store ask you to wire transfer to an Amazon Agent, foolish and costly $620 mistake.
The 4K TV was never shipped and he lost his money. I fought hard for him with Amazon.ca, sent then all the paperwork snapshots of Web ad but the only words from Amazon..." we are sorry but we cannot find the order number" It got to the point where Amazon had me contacting Amazon.in, but again another excuse. I asked Amazon to investigate, but never heard back, unbelievable company. AZ warranty, JOKE. One would would think Amazon would know who was selling on their website and take responsibility.
What truly blew my mind, after everything I brought to Amazon attention, the AZ-Store is still selling on Amazon.ca
SHAME ON YOU AMAZON
If you are purchasing from Amazon or any website, do not make they mistake my family made, never send cash via wire transfer or any transfer option.
If you are not sure, ask questions."
"Three times I tried to order a iMac from amazon seller "New Item 100% Positive". Each time they cancel the order after its been placed. They then direct you to a fake amazon.ca site where they want you to wire money to a Lloyds bank account or send them your amazon account name and password. There is no way for a customer to post a review warning other customers. You can talk to a amazon service rep who has been trained to say "we're sorry" before every sentence , but unable to actually do anything. Their service rep have admitted this site is fake but are unable or unwilling to take it down. One of their service reps told me this company has 58000 items listed. How many victims are out there because of amazons.ca failure to protect their customers (class action anyone)"
"Amazon just keeps getting better and better. The same day delivery that was just launched in Toronto is very convenient. I've only ever had an issue once, and my customer service experience was amazing. "
"I have purchased dash cam from this site and got delivery after long time waiting.I have tested this product and found defective so I reported problem to amazon and amazon told me to contact seller.I contacted seller and informed them with the problem and got response that if defective item they are going to replace or refund it but after sending them proof seller never contacted me and I informed amazon about it but they are sending me same message to contact seller not to them.So my concern is that we are buying it from amazon and when this type of situation arise they are running away from their responsibility that is why never buy anything from amazon they are selling garbage thing and defective item from third class sellers and making huge money out of this by cheating customer. never buy from amazon.ca.
"
"I have been a regular shopper at amazon.ca and today I had the unfortunate experience of having my amazon package stolen from the top of my car roof when I had made the mistake of leaving it there while I ran back into my house quickly. Because of my past loyalty as a customer they were willing to give me a full refund for my $40 cell phone case. I will recommend amazon.ca to everyone I know. "
"Ordered 2 blu ray films and received a " Shipped " email stating they would be delivered the next day by 8pm. ** It's important to note that Amazon.ca have slowly moved their own courier service (AMZCA) into Canada, in an attempt to cut down their costs. Unlike their previous delivery services (UPS) etc, Amazon.ca now states someone must be home to receive the item. Their previous delivery services would just put the item in the door, a system I liked so that I didn't have to sit around waiting. Anyway, I wait for 12 hours for the movies to arrive. I clicked the track package link within my shipped email regularly and it kept showing " on its way " Finally, at 8pm, I get online and use the Amazon.ca chat option and begin a text conversation with someone who says " oh yes, it appears there has been an issue" The person never explains what that issue is but says, " I'm quite certain you will receive your order tomorrow" " Ill make sure you are made a priority" Next day, by 1:00pm , still no delivery. I call customer support only to discover the truck with my shipment and other customers shipments broke down the day before. The customer care representative said he wasn't even sure they could get the delivery to me by Monday of the following week. I immediately cancelled the order and asked for a full refund. In all honesty, I've never had one bad experience with Amazon.ca until this event. Things go wrong and I can deal with mistakes and accidents. What I cant and wont deal with is a complete lack of regard for the customer. If you have an issue with one of your trucks, then do the right thing! Immediately email everyone who had a shipment on that truck and inform them so they're not wasting their time waiting for a delivery that isn't going to come. I can't imagine how many other people were left wondering what happened to their items. Amazon.ca moved quickly to offer some compensation and they did say they would cancel the order and set up a new order with the same items and use an alternate delivery method to ensure I could get it within 48hrs. I graciously declined and went out to HMV and bought the two movies I was expecting from them. (exact same price, I might add) It's not the delay that irritates me, its the fact that no one thought it important to notify the customer of the issue. I wonder how long I would have waited information, had I not contacted them? An incredibly disappointing experience and the worst part is, now, I can't trust them to do the right thing. As soon as the refund goes through, I'm cancelling my account. Amazon.ca, you had better rethink your courier service, if this will be the standard of service. "
"Amazon Canada offers a pre-order option for many products and when a certain book was available for order the site said it would be available in March. Thats mistake number one, that they tell you a phony date for when products will be available, and keep you waiting. 2nd mistake, they do not tell you it is apparently their policy to not accept payments(even when the payment was pending for 5 %$^&ing months) for anything that is not available to the public yet. Why have this misleading option to prepay for a product if you dont take the payment in the first place? so nearly $60 in charges to my credit card were just pending? and in the end when the product became available they did not take the damn payemnt? If amazon dont want my money, then i dont want amazons crappy wares. The option to preorder is a sham. Strongly discourage using their services."
"I can't tell you how many times I've ordered from Amazon, and every time I'm impressed. I've ordered everything from car parts to cooking supplies. They have a great system of searching for what you need, and most often you can find exactly what they have on eBay as well, because the sellers are the same. Only difference is Amazon shows reviews of those products, which to me is VITAL to knowing what I'm buying. I don't blindly buy from any website, or blindly buy parts. Many of the reviews are from Amazon.com , the US equivalent of the website.
I've ran into problems with a couple sellers before, about items that either break early or do not work. Amazon seems to have a great process on how to resolve these issues, and most sellers are more than happy to help with returning or refunding the items. Some sellers however, do not care about the products or the customers. I just wish Amazon would root those sellers out and remove them from the website, that would make my experience 100% satisfying."
"Wanted to buy a case for my phone. Amazon.CA charged $47.00 . Amazon.com charged $8.00. Another case was more money and they wanted $19.50 for shipping. Amazon.com had free shipping. Neither item at Amazon.com was available in Canada. In a world the revolves around money. I now drive down to the U.S and buy all my stuff there. I don't have money to throw away just to say that I support the Canadian economy. "
