Ice maker - easy fix with right parts

"Our ice maker quit - would not make ice. Went on line found a YouTube video - looked easy - searched for kit - found it for a great price and fast shipping at AppliancePartsPro. Ordered on Thursday - had it Friday for just a little over $100 - local repair place wanted $75 to come look at it and guess of about $300 total to repair.

Parts came including new wiring harness's (for two different situations) - took about 30 minutes to swap out and it works better than it ever did in the past.

"Not sure if it can get any better than this. These people really know their business. They are fast, reliable, knowledgeable and very kind and help you without making you feel like an idiot.

Their prices seem reasonable, guaranteed and easy returns promised (since I didn’t return anything, I don’t really know)
But since I know how good they were with everything else, I don’t doubt they will be fantastic with that as well. I dealt with Joe and few others but they were all fantastic.

"Prices are fair shipping is fast. The problem happens if anything needs to be returned. They will tell you 7-10 days. Then 7-14 days and finally they will tell you they don't know when. I highly recommend using paypal so if an issue arises you can get your money back."

"Our nine-year-old Amana AFD2535DEB4 French Door Refrigerator stopped cooling in both the fridge and freezer compartments on a Friday. Finding that a repair person was not available before the following Tuesday, and recalling published recommendations to replace rather than repair older appliances like ours, we ordered a new unit from a big-box club. However, after three-days we still had no firm delivery date, so I visited the "AppliancePartsPros.com" site to research possible causes of our problem. Based on information found there, I ordered a Compressor Start Device and Run Capacitor, and received those parts the next day. Unfortunately, due to my own error, the received parts weren't the correct parts for our unit (the full model # of our unit was not listed on their site and I then dropped the trailing "4", having not yet disassembled the unit). I immediately called their 800 number and spoke with "Helen", who quickly and happily straightened out my error, and also arranged for shipment of the correct parts, which arrived the following day. After completing an easy 30 minute install, the unit was back to cooling. Helen also sent an RMA for the parts I incorrectly ordered. I've used Appliance Parts Pros many times in the past, and have always been very pleased with their service. In retrospect, I should have gone there when the failure first occurred and should have called when the full Amana model # could not be found on their website. Lesson learned."

One of the BEST parts websites I've found!!

"So AppliancePartsPros.com and Matt in the videos are so helpful and concise and I'm so happy I spent the money. But. I would LOVE to have videos that explain problems and behaviors of faulty equipment.

I had a gas dryer that worked perfectly until it didn't. I went through every logical issue I could think of, found this wonderful website, and ordered a few parts. The shipping situation was fine (nothing feels fast when you're waiting!) but the parts arrived and I followed Matt's delightful videos. Turned the dryer on and it worked for about 3 loads and stopped. Took the dryer apart, checked my work, figured it was another issue, ordered more parts. Replaced those. Started the dryer again, worked for 1 load, and then never again. I then bought the solenoid valve part because I assumed that was the issue since I had replaced everything else. It did not work.

I would love some sort of "troubleshooting" explanation as a feature. I would definitely pay money for something where I could put in a part number, and then see some different kinds of tests to ensure each part is functioning correctly. This would help me then select the appropriate part for my particular issue without wasting money. I see this is a disadvantage to you, but that's why this service should be a monthly subscription cost, or something similar. Obviously that's a lot of work, but like I said, TAKE MY MONEY!
