"I just ordered a motherboard and a case fan over the phone. I talked to a guy named Curt who seemed nice and professional. I ordered at around 2:40 pm and was told that the order might not be shipped til tomorrow. After reading some horror stories here I feel like I'm making a gamble. Googlegear had some horror stories too but I got all my orders from them timely. I should be getting a confirmation from Atacom regarding the shipping and tracking information by tomorrow and should get my order early next week. I will post a follow up comment on my experience by next week."
"They would not ship the product because my shipping address was different then the one on my credit card. I then called my credit card company to add my shipping address to the card and then called ATACAM back. They said it would take 4 hours to update the Information. For the next week I went back and forth between my credit card company and ATACOM to try and get the shipping address to work. I finally cancelled my order 2 weeks later when they said my address could not be verified for the fourth time when I know it was because I called my credit card company several times. I don't understand why it matters where I'm shipping the product to anyway. Very disappointed in there support and service. "
"I often buy PC products on line, but seldom feel satisfied with the on line companies. Atacom.com is the best one I found. I don't think their price is the best, but I feel their support and their service is the best. In my opinion, if you want to buy a component with the cheapest price but unknow the service and quality, don't go to Atacom.com. But if you want the best service and support and the order is exactly the same as you ordered, I strongly recommand you to buy on Atacom.com."
"Ordered an Asus P4T533 motherboard and 256mb of RIMM 4200 ram. I was reluctant at first but the price was much better than competitors and they had the things in stock.
I believe shipping was a little overpriced and it was slow shipping, but overall I still saved money over other companies.
Overall transaction was good. I can reccommend them."
"I ordered a Geforce 4 video card from them. Received exactly what i ordered at a price $20 less than the nearest competitor. will order from them again!"
"In my 3 purchases from Atacom I have had no problems.
Personally speaking this company has GREAT tech support and after sales service.
They helped my roomate diagnose problems with his 32x TEAC SCSI CDROM Drive that he purchased from them too.
The problem wasn't even with the CDROM Drive.
Nice folks! I personally recommend Atacom based on past experience."
"Atacom seems very hit and miss to many people here. I'm glad they've worked out alright for me so far. The reason I like to order from them is because they are local and allow local pickups (which some other local companies do not).
Most recently, I ordered an ABIT BD7II-RAID motherboard from them after returning my Gigabyte from another site due to compatability issues. I called up and ordered, and picked up the mobo on that day at around 1 pm. Everything went smoothly.
I have to admit, there are many Asians working there, and some of them don't have perfect command of the English langauge. I never had this problem, but I'm sure others have had communications issues. I've had a good experience with them, but of course it could always be a mixed bag."
"Great price! Good work! I ordered a combo package P4/2.26/533 cpu, ASUS P4t533-C mobo, and Kingston PC 1066 256RDAM from ATACOM. It was arrived on time and well packed. They also include the booting test report. The tech person, JOJO, was really nice and helpful. Thanks, JOJO!! Good job!"
"I'm surprised at the number of negative comments. I had ordered several items from Atacom 3 years ago, they arrived on time, were well packed, and worked great. A customer service rep even called me the next week to make sure everything arrived OK. I ordered from them again last week, in spite of the negative comments here, based upon my previous positive experience with them. I was not disappointed. I ordered a motherboard, RAM, and a DVD. Everything arrived on time, was well packed, and works great! What can I say? I will continue to order from Atacom."
"Heh, I'll save you the book that I was writing and give you the condensed format:
Ordered a Processor on Wed, May 29 first thing in the morning to make sure it ships out today and I get it before the weekend. Im told that it will ship today. 4 business days, and 3 emails for "unable to confirm shipping adress" later, I'm told that everything is ok and it will ship today, (9AM). I call to confirm shipment (3:30PM) and Im told that the item is out of stock.
Now the "unable to confirm shipping address" issue is the biggest pile of crud I ever heard of. The address in question has been registered with my CC for 3 years now, Atacom has even shipped to it for me before. My CC rep was baffled at their inability to confirm the address. They just plain dont care about customer service anymore at Atacom. In my opinion everytime I called to try and fix the problem, they simply tried to re-confirm the same way as before. The problem was with Atacom, not the CC. My CC rep said that if they would simply call the 1800 number (which I gave them) that there should be no problems.
I was told twice (days 2 and 3) that the shipping address issue was resolved, only to recieve the same email that evening long after they close up and went home. Very frustrating, and then after all that to not even get my processor. Well, Atacom cost me a week that I could have been enjoying my new computer. It cost them a customer and all his friends business as well. My main issue is their inability to even make an effort to correct the problem, compounded by 4 days of flat out LIES!
Terzik (hehe, and thats the condensed format!)"
"I placed an order for a HD from their site which they gladly accepted. and took my CC Information. They sent me a confirmation email which clearly indicated the price as $149.95
The next day they leave messages at both my home and work that if I want the drive I must pay $249.95. They will not honor the price that they had listed and confirmed the previous day.
I went to them because I found the low price via ibuyer.net. They are fully aware of this and I believe that they intentionally listed the wrong price to attract buyers. I know of several other individuals that bit on the same price.
Any way you slice it, this is "Bait & Switch".
"
"wow. i was reading the ATA remarks. Curious and surprising..
I've ordered to date.
1 500P3
1 900 Celeron
well over a gig of RAM.
3 hard drives
1 DVD ROM
1 CD Burner
two mother boards
and 1 server size tower.
Everything I recieved worked flawlessly and as expected. Packaging was not damaged at all.
Never had a big problem with them.
The only problem I had was a mismatch with addressing. I wanted to send it to someone else and they wouldn't let me do it. I found that inconvenient and peculiar that they would have that option on their site and not allow it, but it really wasn't too much of an issue.
I didn't receive a confirmation email this time around and I didn't notice it until today after reading some of the comments. I always print out my orders though before I submit anything.
Just incase you're wondering about the 1's in the order form: I don't have my print out with me as i ordered it at my brothers house for him so he's got it :)"
"Odd. A lot of people below seem to be having terrible trouble with this company. Fortunately, I was not one of them, though I don't necessarily discount their problems - I didn't have any.
The Asus TI500 Deluxe Geforce3 with 3d VR glasses and TV-OUT and Video IN had just been released. I was very anxious to buy this card and not many had it at a "reasonable new-card" price. Using pricewatch, I found Atacom.
Very few places had this graphics card "cheap". And the ones that did, were fairly shady in appearance OR they didn't accept American Express.
I placed the order by telephone with a sales rep "jacky". The card cost $366.47 and the shipping was UPS ground at 11.52. The shipping was a bit high...but whatever.
Anyway, got the card. Everything was together. The card was packaged nicely and was retail as described.
The card still works and I havn't any problems with it, though that's not because of Atacom, that's because of Asus and Nvidia :P

"I like their customer service, compares to other on-line stores! Also, they offers a lot of good deals too!! I will recommend this site to my freiends who plan to purchase any computer parts!"
"They put my order on hold because they couldn't verify my shipping address, and NEVER NOTIFIED ME. Since their website has no automated Order Status area, I had to call to find out what was wrong and cancel the order. This is despite that I wrote the following in the Comments area of my order:
"If the item is out of stock and will not come into stock within the week, please cancel the order."
(It was nearly two weeks from the order date when I called.)"
