"BZBoys attract customers to their web site by advertising very low prices on pricewatch.com
I ordered a mother board on their web site and the
S&H was only $4 when I tried to change the number to 2 boards the S&H became $16!!?. I did not select any of their expensive options and opted for one mother board. After making the order they sent me an email asking me to give them positive feed back now and in return they will ship me a free mouse. I replyed saying all they need to do
is just shipping the MB and I will give them feedback. I got a reply on Thu, 31 Mar saying:
As per your mail I check Your Order has been assigned for action for final double check done for information accuracy. The process carried to insure each Order is scrutinized for credit card details and to ensure accuracy to every Order shipped. If there is no problem found then an Order will go through accounting and monies will authorized. After that your Order will be sent to inventory for picking and then off to shipping department. If there are no problems in authorizing your payments, and no problems in inventory department (Like back log or cut off time), your Order will be processed and sent to shipping department.
------------------------------
on Monday April 4th I received an Email from them cancelling the order because they could not contact me !!!.
It seems that: 1) either they do not have the items they advertise or 2)they have them but do not want to sell them at those advertised prices.
Well, after seeing all that negative feedback they have I was delighted that they did not charge my card nor shipped me a DOA like they did with others."
"Charged me once for the item + shipping and a seperate time for just shipping, meaning I got charged for shipping twice. They also didn't respond to numerous e-mails that I sent them reguarding this issue."
"Purchased a Motherboard and CPU.
The shipment was 6 days late and when it was recieved the parts were defective; an RMA would not be issued unless I purchased a New Item first, I was then charged shipping both ways plus $165(us) as a RESTOCKING fee for the Damaged product. The turnaround time for the RMA was 5 weeks."
"My order: CPU/Mainboard combo, case, heatsink/fan, Gold Shipping Package.
Mainboard arrived faulty. DDR2 wasn't functioning. Tested the memory in another computer, the memory worked. Tested different memory on that mainboard, same problem. Bzboyz said the mainboard is just picky. To IT professionals, "picky" isn't a technical term, computers are either functioning as designed or malfunctioning.
RMA wasn't "No Hassle" as the Gold Package stated. It took repeated calls to them and I was repeatedly solicited for 'additional fees' for faster RMA handling. For $20-$30 more, my RMA would be instant. Without additional fees they said it would take 11-13 days, even though the Gold Package indicated "immediate replacement while return is in transit". Throughout the ordeal I was constantly reminded that the problem is probably my fault and they'll probably have to charge me.
Nothing ever happened with my RMA unless I contacted them. They said they'd keep me updated on the situation, but 5 days would go by and nothing, until I called them, and not 2 minutes after hanging up I'd get an email about how I can speed things up for only $20-$30. No progress on my RMA seemed to happen until I called a manager at MicroX, gears were working within hours and my replacement was scheduled for shipping the next day. RMA issued on February 22nd. Replacement received on March 17th. No one at the company spoke fluent English, which made it difficult to clearly communicate. Before my order shipped I was offered a gift if I gave them a positive pricewatch review before they shipped it. Obviously I did no such thing, I wasn't going to mislead people for a $10 mouse I don't need. But now I know why they have such a good rating at pricewatch which is what prompted me to order. (I try to restrict my orders to companies with fairly good ratings)
My replacement mainboard works, but the overall experience was a hassle, 45 days from order until working components arrived. I won't do business with them again.
As a note, their RMA policy made me extremely nervous. It stated "No physically defective/damaged components will be accepted." Well, there's nothing that can possibly be wrong with a piece of hardware other than being physically defective or damaged! On the phone they said they mean burned from static or bent pins on the CPU, but the policy made me very uneasy."
"Have bought three cpu's on three differant occasions. Ordered one day picked up the next. Did not have to wait for it to arrive. All working great. HandyAndy"
"When placed order they said they couldn't verify my address with my credit card delayed my ordered for five days I told them to cancle the order and they sent it anyways. Sold it to me as new but arrived in a white box must have been a pull.. Will never order from again "
"I paid for expedited order processing and FOUR DAYS later, my order finally left the warehouse. Processor was shipped in a plastic clamshell. Have they never heard of static? The prce is fair at best. Their only saving grace is their inventory. But even with that, I will not order from them again."
"Chip on mainboard burned itself up - BzBoyz said they cannot honor their warranty if physical damage is visible. I asked what damage they can replace - silence.
Customer service is rude and deceptive - they are there to make money only.
Do yourself a favor - AVOID
"
"Unfortunately I have to agree with visormiser. Don't buy from BZBOYZ.
In fact I had almost the exact same experience. Motherboard arrived bad. I was forced to accept "draconian measures" (their own words) in order to qualify for service and/or replacement. It seems they go out of their way to make it difficult for the customer to contact them. New MOBO arrived nearly a month later. I too was told I would have been subject to a $30 fee and I had to pay my own shipping costs to send the bad one back."
"The Item was good (as described) the site a few annoying steps (asking you if you want additional items)but the over-all experience and shipping time was good. A++"
"BZBoys provided me with all the options I could want. I like the fact that I was able to eliminate the frills I didn't want to pay for, yet still keep all the ones I felt were needed. I recieved my order in a mere 4 days instead of the 5 to 10 minimum. I will shop there again"
"STAY AWAY from this seller. I ordered a motherboard/chip combo and the mobo died after a day's use. the chip is not responding either, even after I tried it in another machine.
requested an RMA from them, and got a warning that if they found the parts to be physically defective they could charge me a $30 service fee and send me back the broken parts (and charge me for shipping them back as well.)
before I was given an RMA, I had to endure about 5 or 6 emails with suggestions about how I must have done something wrong, like failing to apply thermal paste or seating the chip wrong.
when I finally got an answer back from them about how they determine whether something is "physiscally defective" and what exactly that means, here was their response:
Dear Customer,
Please make sure that the motherboard and processor is not burn or
not physically damage. Generally if the motherboard or processor is not
working then we can say it physically damage. You can ship the parts to
us;
we will test and will email you the testing report. If we found the
parts to
be physically damage then we will email you and will ship you the same
parts
I will never buy from these people again. I wish I had found these reviews sooner. :("
"They had a price for a chip at pricewatch. They didn't honor that price. I foolishly didn't look until after I hit the order button. I sent them an email saying there was a bait and switch on the price of the chip and they ignored me. I will never order from them again. Nor would I recommend them to anybody."
"Everthing went fine. I would buy from you again.
MOBO CPU and Fan a nice package. Best Price on the Net."
"I ordered an athlon 3000+ (Barton) and they shipped a 3200+ barton. Nice upgrade for the same price. They offered accessories when I ordered. Had not thought much about a shim, but it made sense. Good suggestion. CPU arrived in good shape and I installed on my new Soyo m/b. Has been working well for a week now. They followed up with a phone call to let me know the order had shipped. They appear to be making a real effort to turn their ratings around. Would not hesitate to buy from them again if they are the low bidder!"
