"BBB needs to shut this place down!!!!
I ordered a stick of RAM from them. A few days later they sent an email stating my order was cancelled. No phone calls or emails were received inbetween the receipt of my order and the cancellation email.
It has been a week now and my credit card still has not been refunded. This business operates as bzboyz, pcparts, tuffshop, etc. After reading the reviews here, how can a place like this stay in business?
I am giving them 72 hours to release the 'hold' on ym credit card. After that, I am filing fraud charges with my credit card company.
Anyone else have problems with them releasing the 'hold' they put on your credit card? "
"I got what I wanted in good time. Thanks. Not sure what else I can write or why it has to be fifty chracters."
"Ordered "House Brand CD-RW DRIVE 54x32x54 (PWS)" and some thermal paste. They called a while later (coudnt undersant a word they said and assumed it was a wrong number) three days later I get an email claiming "suspected-spam: regarding your order" in the subject line, a cheesy "template" message with there long distance phone number asking me to confirm my order over the phone. After complaing to them on there "live chat" saying they should call me for there screwup, they called half an hour later claiming my order was "bad" or "old" and offered a more expensive brand for $5 more I asked why they coudnt send it anyway they claimed customers were complaing about that brand, and after many minutes of confusion I asked if the order was out of stock, they said yes and again offered me anoter model. I canceled the order and three days later they still have a hold for the total amount in my bank account. Contacted the Better Business Bureau, suggest anyone with similar problem do the same."
"This has been the worst online purchase experience for me ever. I ordered a Swiftech-MCX478-V without a fan. The fan had to be deselected on the order form along with the warranty upsell they try. Two days later I receive a phone call pimping their cheap little fan and even offered to drop the fan cost. I declined as I already have several new, unused papst fans that with most definitely beat whatever crapshoot fan they send. Later I receive an email stating that my order was cancelled for not replying to an email they supposedly sent as a 'warranty disclaimer'. I contacted their sales support who were not helpful and would not reinstate my order. They suggested that I resubmit my order and state in my comments that my last order was cancelled.
I could not get these people to take my money the first time, not a chance that I'm going to waste more of my time with them trying to 'reorder' that which they gaffed the first time and would not reinstate for me after calling. I'll take my money and time elsewhere."
"Terrible experience at every stage of the process. I shouldn't be surprised based on some of the comments here, but I was looking for a preassembled mobo cpu combo, because I wanted to avoid dealing with heatsink installation and BIOS configuration. Was it ever not worth it!
I made my order monday. On tuesday I got a call explaining the oem mobo I'd ordered was out of stock, but the retail version was available for 10 dollars more (again, this has been documented repeatedly here). I stupidly said okay to the switch. Later, I had an idea and called them as a new customer, asking about availability of the same pieces I'd ordered. They told me they had the exact mobo, for the price I paid, OEM, in stock (in fact they had two!). So, I said "great, then send one of those to fulfill my order, and don't charge me extra for the retail version!" After a bit more fighting I got them to agree.
Thursday, I received email the order was shipped, with a tracking number and a link to FedEx's tracking site. When I tried it out, I got an invalid number error. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I waited till Friday and tried again - same problem. When I called, they explained they didn't send it FedEx, but Airborne Express (why they sent me the FedEx link, nobody knows). They emailed me the url to track airborne express, and in that email said they double checked and the order was on there. Just to be safe, I tried anyway, and it _still_ came up invalid. Two phonecalls later, we discover they've given me an incorrect tracking number (this is after repeatedly double checking it with them on every previous phone call). The new tracking number finally works.
Monday, the order arrived. Much to my dismay however, the mobo and cpu were _not_ assembled, and they had sent me the retail version! I called to complain about the retail version explaining that I'd called on Tuesday, but all they said was "we have no record of that call." Well great. Even better, my cc company had showed the week before a single charge for the OEM cost of the mobo - when I called them again on Monday, there was an additional charge for the extra 11 dollars for the retail version. Why were they two separate charges? Anyway, so I went to assemble the cpu and heatsink - even though they sent me a kit, they sent no instructions. I'm glad I checked everything out first too, because the cpu has three small chips on it! They may or may not be deep enough to actually affect operation, so I'm going to run a few benchmarks to put it through the paces.
So, hopefully (barring a dud cpu) the ordeal is done with now. I should point out that each phonecall with this company was _extremely_ frustrating. Their customer service is nothing short of terrible. Each person mumbles incoherently. Yes, they have strong accents, but I'm used to them, as I work with a lot of indian people - the problem here is _mumbling_. They also seem to have chosen the most annoying hold music in existance.
The conclusion - I'll never order from BZBoyz again. No advantages over other resellers, and so many disadvantages."
"As other reviews have found, these guys are crap. They don't have inventory for the items they sell. Ordered on the 23rd, order status online kept saying "order has been sent to sales department for processing," then on the 30th an email comes stating that the order is cancelled because "I" -- 1) cancelled the order [not true], or 2) there was a problem with the order and they couldn't reach me [well, they never tried to reach me]. Are these guys scamming credit card numbers from people for nefarious purposes? They aren't legit."
"I was extremely disappointed. The processor would not work in either of my computers and the blue light burned out within 2 hours of installing it. I knew I could return it for an exchange, but that would take WEEKS. Who wants to wait that long putting a computer together?
Other than that, everything else worked once I bought ANOTHER processor. If you wish to speak to me about this, my home number is in your files. Please, feel free to call me at any time.
Thank you

"It appears that there are very few Americans working there. After many, many, many contacts, it was determined by "tech support" that this combination of parts would NEVER function. I paid EXTRA for testing before shipment. They told me to wait for an RMA (why WAIT?) ... after a week ... no RMA. BTW, they called 2 times during construction to "upgrade" my parts (at extra charges)due parts, including cheaper memory, being "out of stock".
NEVER will I buy here again.
(amended) =============
As of 4/9/04, they have received my returned (as-built to order) "computer" which would not accept ANY operating system (their "support" section agreed that it would not ever work).
RMA was like pulling teeth ... after a week, I called & they said that after many calls to me to confirm (NOT SO) that they deleted my request. They also give you 10 days to get it back to them or it will "be returned" ... this voids most ground shipments to California.
Well .... after shipping at a cost of $37 by FedEx, I have received a posting to credit card for all but ONLY 31% of my original bill.
Chargeback for the remainder is in process by my credit card company.
5/7/2004 :
Remainder of charges are posted to my card account by the card company ... these are for charges in DISPUTE.
I understand that the CEO is personally concerned with these complaints/problems; I would be also.
I wish him well."
"Beware! Bait and switch! I ordered a MSI M825LU motherboard and they tried to get me to upgrade. I had a hard time hearing them on the phone and asked them to email me. Instead they upgraded and processed my order. My $40 order became a $50 order. I could have bought the same motherboard from newegg.com for $42 shipped. They do not respond to emails."
"Very dissatisfied. Sent me 2 bad mboard combos. During RMA they want extra $25 as they force you to accept their '4' options. Second mboard supposedly was tested, but IDE channel 0 was nonfunctional. A total rip off. BBB tried to resolve with no avail. Now going to court.
Update:
Was contacted by their CEO, and we came to a satisfactory conclusion. Was impressed by how understanding the CEO is."
"Ordered an AMD 3200+ processor. These people sent
me a burnt processor. I got a RMA and returned the
processor. They rejected the RMA stating the processor was burnt. They sent it to me burnt.
I did not take the processor out of it's package. I did not install the procossor. It was burnt when they sent it to me. Please do not do business with
BZboyz.

"was very satisfied with my purchase, plan to buy from BZBoyz again."
"Promised a free gift w/ order thru a pricewatch.com ad, but never got it."
"at first i was very very impressed by the way i was updated almost daily on which phase of the shipping process my order was in. unfortunatly when it finally said it was shipped and i attempted to use the shipment tracking, i would jsut get an error. no matter what computer i used it was teh same thing. i emailed them about it, and they just said it was shipped. it took a little more than 3 weeks for the order to arrive, and i was in a regular envelope. i was just a processor shim, which is small, but its also somehwat fragile.
point is, it took to long, i didnt get any sort of tracking, it wasnt packeaged well, and when i emailed for help they didnt seem to care about helping me."
"Really, all I have purchased at this time is only a CPU shim. The item was not that valuable.
However, BZBOYS.com was the first available link on Pricewatch.com. Most of the feedbacks were favorable.
I do have a bit of a problem with the shopping cart. It seems that many of the vendors who are in this computer parts industry all use the same shopping cart.
The particular problem that I have is when it tells you that you will be mailed a free gift for completing a feedback.
Well, I have tried numerous times to do this and this input never posted. The system would just error out and pop up a message box.
The BZBOYS.com website was not the only culprit in doing this. There were numerous others.
Being a developer for shopping carts in the recent past, I know that this is an error in the scripting and could easily be remedied.
However, to the software novice who just keeps "clicking" away at all the little listboxes, checkboxes, and radio buttons....this error message can really be annoying!
