"I went to a photo convention in which backdrop outlet was participating. When I returned home I decided to order several paper backdrops from them named "Candy Sticks." I ordered them on February 28th and today is April 7th. I have called and emailed and been given nothing short of a runaround. They have given me two different tracking numbers that don't exist within the USPS system. That's who they stated they shipped with. I also checked UPS and Fedex but nothing. They stated the order was shipped on March 28th and was not picked up until March 31st. That is their excuse for the delay. Well, NOBODY takes this long to ship anything this small. So obviously they are giving me bogus information to keep me hanging. DO NOT ORDER FROM BACKDROP OUTLET!!!!"
"I wish I'd checked their reputation before ordering. I ordered a holiday/winter backdrop from a special email with great prices. I paid through PayPal, but never received the backdrop. I have now been emailing back and forth with them for over three months and still have no backdrop or a refund. At first they said the accounting department had processed the refund and it would be posted in '3-4 days', but a month later, no refund on my credit card statement. Follow-up emails haven't helped - they keep offering me another backdrop in place of the one I wanted, but now I'm worried about taking them up on that offer as it may never appear. Then I'll have to start all over again!"
"I'm not happy with Backdrop Outlet and will not be using them again. I ordered 4 backdrops at the WPPI convention. They said it would take 3 to 4 week to receive them. After 6 weeks, I received 3 of the 4 and 2 of them were NOT what I ordered. They were to email me a label to return the backdrops, but I had to call again after another 2 weeks just to get that label. ( I'm waiting another week to receive the label in the mail. ) Once I mail them back and they receive them, then they will mail me the ones that I ordered. So... I'm having to wait 8+ weeks to get my order and of coarse they got their money the day I placed the order. I also had to ask as to when I will receive the 4 item and they said it will be in today and we will mail it out today. Why is it taking 8+ weeks to get my order right ? I will not be buying from them again !"

I place my order on March 3rd before going on vacation so that I could find it upon my return and thus be able to install it in my photo studio before the "Seniors" season started...
Well, after my return (March 24th) only one package (rail system for backdrop) has arrived but even that system was incomplete so I could not install it. About the manual wall mounted roller system ..nothing. After several e-mails (none of them ever responded to) and multiple phone calls (with friendly people on the other side but nothing else...) I ended up receiving the missing items for the rail system ...the wall mounted rollers.... nothing. many promises were made (some of them with exact "shipping dates" but NEVER EVER any updates by mail or any of that... Today, after YET ANOTHER CALL to this DISMAL company, they told me that the roller system was on back order and MAY NOT arrive until the end of April !!!!(NEVER EVER WAS THIS MENTIONED TO ME...DURING THE PURCHASING PROCESS..)
They "friendly apologized" said that they would refund my money (I will still call my credit card and put a stop payment...) and now I'm left with having to find the system myself... basically Backdrop Outlet WASTED AT MY EXPENSE over one month of my time..
My suggestion to anybody that even thinks about purchasing here is STAY AWAY, even if this is the ONLY store left on the planet to do business with, I would suggest you change your career before even thinking about doing business with such an incredibly dismal company...

"They are the worst! There products come in between a week and three months. I called about an easter backdrop I had ordered 10 weeks previously and the sales rep told me "backdrops don't grow on trees."
They charged someone else's order to my credit card on file. And even now I am waiting on an item I ordered in Dec 2010. I have talked to four customer service agents and a supervisor and still no one even knows why it hasn't shipped. Do not use them!"
"The first thing you need to know about their website, is they do not tell you if an item is out of stock.
I ordered the 3 pack of reflective plexiglass (24"x48") and a 10'x20' deep purple/black backdrop. About a week and a half after I placed my order, I realized I hadn't received a tracking number. I logged into their website and my backdrop was on back order. I called the company, and they promised it would be in stock and ship by Friday. I waited until the FOLLOWING Friday to call back, and they said it would ship by Thursday! I told them I didn't want to wait that long for the items, and would like to cancel the backdrop. The customer service person talked me into switching to an in-stock item, and helped me find a dark blue/black one that worked well with a wedding I had coming up anyway.
I finally got my package today (March 10th, 2011. I placed my order at the end of January), and the plexiglass is PERFECT. It didn't come very well packaged, so thankfully nothing is broken or scratched, but it's exactly what I wanted. I am VERY happy with that.
The backdrop, however, is not what I wanted. It is VERY dull in colors. Instead of being dark blue/black, it is mostly purple. The middle has a LOT of white, more than I'd like in a backdrop.
I am considering dropping the whole thing in a bucket of black dye in hopes of darkening it up.
I have made my own backdrops in the past, I was just hoping to save time and money buying a premade one... Guess I should have just made it!"
"Do NOT order their FANTASY CLOTHS. They are worthless. Unlike the website says, you would not be able to drape them nicely, or use as a backdrop. I don't know what they are made out of, but it is not a fabric like material. Almost feels paper-ish. I cannot image it holding up. WASTE of MONEY and I posting this because I do not want other to waste money like I did. They also sent the wrong colors!
Yes, they will take them back. But I am now out the cost of shipping them to me, and the cost of shipping them back, which totals $25. And, they don't issue refunds, only in store credit. So now I HAVE to buy from them again. Sure wish I would have thought to read reviews of their store BEFORE I purchased from them. Do not buy their Fantasy Cloths! Complete waste of money!!"
"They lead you on for months regards to purchase fulfillment. Tough to get refund. OK if they have the item in stock. But who knows as I no longer trust them. It's tough find classy products there as they tend to cater to the lower end photographers IMHO. "
"I have been lies to about my item bein gin stock. Then someone told me they would upgrade the item to a better one and it would ship out that day. Its been a month now and still getting lies from Brian about the order and spent 25 minutes on hold with this idiot. Cancelled my order today and reported it to the bank as a fradulent company."
"I made an order to come in before Christmas, well they did not let me know until I placed the order that the products I had purchased were on back order, so once I logged back in to check on the status and saw it said back ordered could take up to 4 weeks to ship out, I immediately canceled. I waited a week and noticed that no money had been credited back to my account then when the next week rolled around I decided to call, once I spoke with a day she told me to give it 24-72 hours I waited another WEEK and nothing I called again and they told me the first lady never canceled my order the second lady did and that it was my fault for not being positive she canceled and trusting that she did, and that I could now wait another week for my money and that although their reps were wrong it was not their problem! I shop online all day everyday and have never had problems like this or such rude customer care, they are completely helpful until you want your money back, and this is not just a couple bucks it's $300, and they did nothing to try and make their mistakes right nor offer any apologies!"
"I ordered a motor replacement box September 19, 2009. It was shipped on 6/8 2010! The panel was shipped on 8/3/2010. I am still waiting for the cords to connect the motor to the panel. I have been without my 8 roller system for over 13 months!!!!!!!

"NOT RECOMMENDED. I first ordered a abstract muslin and, although it was on back order received it within 2 weeks from the order date. I then decided to place an order for the different things I would need for shoots later on in the year. I placed the order early in January 2010, it is the end of June and I received only 1 item from an order of 10 items. Due to the fact that I am from South Africa I have to mostly rely on e-mails for communication. They ignore the e-mails. Bussiness with them is just on LLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOONG GRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE. "I ordered 2 muslins and a moon prop from them.
I got my 2 backgrounds right away. (I called to place order and talked to a woman on phone.) She helped me with what is in stock to get right away. The moon prop took about 2 weeks but, I was ok with that. I love everything and will order with them again. I think I am going to try a mod cloth next."
"This company does not care about keeping customers! They lie when products will be received and shipped. They do not keep their word. I have ordered twice this year from them. Each time, my products were delayed by almost a month. They did not communicate with me, rather I had to call to find out where my order was. They promised expedited shipping, but it came regular mail. They promised a refund but gave me a store credit. They promised to call with shipping information, but never called. Overall, I would advise other people to shop elsewhere!"
