"I made an order this morning and within 5 minutes realized that even though I had changed my "contact address" to my account due to a recent move, I hadn't updated my "ship to" address. I called immediately and was on hold for 1 hour and fiftenn minutes. When the poorly-english-speaking customer service rep finally came on, she told me I was out of luck and the order was already submitted. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told there is not one in her department. I asked her to transfer me to a department that had a supervisor. 3 minutes later a person, suspiciously identical sounding to the previous person I talked to right down to the accent told me in the exact same words that there was nothing she could do. I used to spend hundreds of dollars a year with best buy but will now boycott them. I don't believe that I will do any damage to their bottom line but they will lose a loyal customer all because they didn't contact the fulfillment house to slap a new ship label on a box."

"fradulently continued to list a very expensive DSLR product on their web site as available for almost 5 days from the time I ordered. Then almost 5 days after I ordered, I get an out of stock/backordered email.

They took Internet orders for almost 5 days with no product in stock while telling the user they were in stock.

Best Buy sells product they do not have. Do not trust their website.

Also Customer service person lied to me and said item was on the way to me only 4 hours before I received the backordered item.

I will never purchase from Best Buy again and advise that you do not either unless you want to gamble on whether they are lying to you or not concerning availability.

"Found an add in the Nov 18 Sunday flyer for a BFG GEFORCE 8800GT video card. I was at the door when the store opened ran to the department and none. The clerk checked and none were available in the warehouse or any local store. Went home and ordered it online, sorry, on backorder with a 1-2 week shipping time. I get an e-mail every few days worded like they would like me to cancel my order. I sent an e-mail to customer service and my response back was "Due to high email volumes, we will be unable to reply to your email within our normal 24 hour response time. " so I called the toll free CS number and each time I am transferred to the online department I get a message saying I am sorry, due to high call volume.......and disconnects. What an outfit. This card is available online at other merchants at a much higher price so I WILL NOT CANCEL. I have a raincheck from the store as well. Wonder how long it will take?"

"I ordered the Xbox 360 Elite bundle that includes two games and paid the bundle price. They sent me the Xbox 360 Elite system only. The box does say or show bundle or games. They simply sent me the wrong product but they are telling me too bad and that I have to contact Microsoft to try and get the games or return the item. Now I have passed opportunities to get the bundle at more legitimate stores. I thought I could trust Best Buy. They are big scammers!"

"Left my ACER computer with them for an estimate of repair with the understanding they would call when ready and would not repair until OK'd. I'd call every week and be told not ready! Started visiting the PGA, FL store in person and finally - three weeks later - they found the ACER. It had never left the store! Simply misplaced. So would they send it off now at a reduced charge? Took it back and sent it off for repair (BTW, ACER has terrific customer service). IMHO, BestBuy really isn't dependable for repair "out of warranty" work."

"Best Buy was a good company to buy from about 5-10 years ago. They have SERIOUSLY gone downhill. My store in Southern California would not honor a low price advertised by Circuit City. I specifically asked the manager to show me in writing anything to justify their position and I kept getting the run around. I escalated the situation to the corporate office and the results were no better. As one other reviewer mentioned, management at Best Buy has stooped to an all time low of young kids who have no clue what customer service is. I won't shop at Best Buy again. This isn't the first time they've disappointed me. With companies like NewEgg and Fry's out there, there really is no reason to pay full retail and deal with horrid customer service at a store like Best Buy. Avoid at all costs!"

"I ordered the sale-priced Toshiba HD-A3 after returning an open-box HD-A2 at the sale price to the store since it did not work. The A3 came with 3 DVDs to be selected from the list of available movies. The DVD player itself shipped immediately via UPS. The 3 DVDs shipped, according to BestBuy via USPS. The reality is that they shipped from BestBuy to a UPS fulfillment and logistics center for transfer to USPS. The time elapsed has been over 11 days and two of the DVDs still show in transit. BestBuy customer service is totally unresponsive and just replies in boilerplate cliches. Finally, the rep just suggested I send feedback on the web site regarding their fulfillment and shipment procedures. My only response is that I will continue to buy in the stores but never again via mail order. I guess it didn't impress her either that I am a stockholder."

"Like many others I placed an order for the Toshiba HD-A2 for $89.99 + tax and shipping. Great deal - so good they sold out and upgraded everyone to the HD-A3 model. Nice move on their part. However, it's 10 days later and my order sits 'In Process' while others who ordered several hours after me have their DVD players arriving today.

I called Best Buy for Business' customer service number to speak to a CSR. As soon as she heard HD-A2 she cut me off and said they don't have an ETA on the backordered players. I asked her why orders weren't filled first-in first-out. She said they were. I told her if that's the case then the people who ordered hours after me wouldn't be getting their players today while mine is on backorder. Note that at this point she hadn't even asked me my order number.

I asked her to look up my order and see if there is anything wrong with it to explain the delay. She did and said she couldn't explain why mine hadn't shipped and was unable to look into it.

I appreciate Best Buy for Business filling the orders with upgraded players but as usual they failed to deliver and as usual their customer service is absolutely the *worst* in the industry.

"After being awed by the Hellgate: London demo, I opted to preorder it. Not only do you get a dye kit, but you also get other offers as well from the 2 websites that provide online pre-orders, bestbuy.com being one of them. I chose bestbuy for the additional offers, which was a speaker system. I also decided it was time for a new keyboard, and I needed an addtional HD for my computer. I opted for instore pickup for all items, and chose expedited shipping for my PC game. The confirmation email never came, called the store several times, and after being put on hold for over 30 minutes finally got my answer that it was ready to pick up. Got to the store, none of my items were ready, and was told they couldn't find the keyboard which I ordered. After 45 min to an hour, they found it, and proceded to check out, and that was that. However, the free speaker system offer didn't link with my order, called bestbuy website and the customer service represenative was a total jerk, not willing to help at all. He told me that I would have to pay 15 dollars in shipping costs for the item, and that it would take 2 weeks to be delivered. Contacted promotions and they cleared everything up, no shipping charges.

Now for the rest of the story. Hellgate: London is realesed on Oct. 31, when I ordered it online I got an estimated arrival date of Nov 1st, Great! right? Wrong. Just called and they told me that its being processed and that I would receive it in 2-3 business days. Payed 13.99 for expedited shipping and I can't even get it the next day. Total B.S. I will call bestbuy tomorrow and request a full refund of my shipping charges as this is outrageous.

I will never order anything from bestbuy.com ever again, much less shop there.

"We bought a Gateway computer from the Salem, NH store. My brother-in-law, an IT person for the last 10 years, put it together and it didn't work. Brought it back 3 hours later and the store refused to take it back and said we had to deal directly with Gateway, after Gateway had told us to return it to ths store. We now will have to wait 1 week or more for Gateway to ship out a new unit. Best Buy could have replaced it easily - the clerk said they had many on hand. The pimply 18 year old they had look at the machine tried to tell my brother-in-law the computer was fine. NEVER SHOP THERE FOR A COMPUTER!"

"Stay away - Customer service is the worst I have ever encountered. When I went to the Best Buy located near my home, the sales representative was uninformed, and had absolutely no clue about the washer and dryer I wanted to purchase. I even had a printed document from their website about the LG washer and dryer I wanted, and she still could not answer my questions and continued to insist that the model we were looking at was the correct one. Of course, it was not. The manager came by and finally resolved the issue after about an hour - NOW the real problem began. Delivery and installation took over 2 weeks- finally they came BUT refused to install the washer and dryer because the washer was still connected. They would not help and they left -
I will never purchase another item from this store -there are many choices to shop with good prices - Go somewhere else.

"I frequent multiple Best Buys and even use a store credit line. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS UNBELIEVABLY BAD! Store 'customer service' agents are routinely 18 or 19 years old. There's nothing wrong with that if they are TRAINED AND MANAGED WELL, but when you're introduced to the "store manager" who's also very young (in the interest of full disclosure, I am only 32 years old) and he also treats me like an unpleasant interruption, then I have to think the corporate culture of Best Buy encourages their state of terrible customer service. This company will sink if enough unhappy customers leave to purchase discounted items on the internet or Costco/Fry's/Wal-Mart/etc., instead of paying 'full retail' at Best Buy."

"Order a TV online and chose to pickup locally. I did not receive the email to pick the item up until over 3 hours later. Their email stated should only take average of 45 minutes to receive that email. I thought that was horrible because I could have bought one at the store (for higher price) in just a matter of minutes. The customer service at the store and on bestbuy.com were proven to be unhelpful. They basically told me to wait infinitely. I gave up waiting for that email an hour later and tried my luck at the store. I've spent 3-4 hours browsing at the store because of this."
