"My 4 month old Westinghouse HDTV died. I had purchased an in-house service plan so I called Best Buy. They provided me with the number for Westinghouse and told me that they had now met their contract obligations. Whatever occured next was between me and Westinghouse."
"Ordered a 30" HDTV on 1/2/07 and was told it'd take four weeks to deliver. I figure OK, got a decent price, I'll wait -- It'll be here in time for the super bowl. THREE weeks later, cancellation email shows up - not in stock. I'd accept a week (or maybe even two) if they came back and said they couldn't fill the order but THREE weeks? It's not "BEST BUY" its "POOR TRY"!"
"This has been by far my worst online experience ever. Ordered a printer and 100 blank dvd's, within a couple of days received the printer :-) however it is 24days later and I have yet to receive a refund or the blank DVD's
Customer service is useless, they have no ability to solve the problme, I just want my money back
I finally received a refund for the DVD Jan 31"
"Best Buy was really helpfull with everything i needed. they answered every question with a well educated response. Thank you best buy for consistantly setting an example on how customer service should be done. And that new magnolia addition is even more exemplery customer experience."
"Very bad experience. BB said my item was shipped then returned. However, the tracking number from UPS indicates the billing info was received but they did not get the package. This was a World of Warcraft Collectors edition which they sold out of after I placed my order. It is obvious they simply didnt have it to ship and blamed UPS. I called CS and she was very difficult to understand (Idian) and somewhat rude. She said I had to call UPS even though UPS will only start an investigation from the seller.
Sure, you may have a good experience once in a while but stay away if at all possible."
"I ordered a GE microwave from Best Buy and after reading all the negative report, I was worried. I felt that a big store couldn't be that bad. I didn't deal with custmer service but I placed my order on 1/16/2007, got email notification of my tracking number on 1/17 and received the item at the best price I could find on 1/23 in perfect condition. I am very satisfied."
"This is easily the worst experience that I have ever had with online purchases. The customer service was Indian. They were hard to understand, rude, useless and clueless. Eventually they cancelled my order without authority. Not only that, since I ordered with in-store pickup I went into the store to just get the cancelled order (since the email indicated that it was ready for pickup). They only had 1 of 2 items available even though they stated that 2 were ready. This was terrible. Avoid Worst Buy at all cost!"
"I ordered a lcd monitor on bestbuy online. I do not have a car so I dont mind paying the shipping for the convenience. The lcd turned out to be defective. I phoned customer support and they said I am stuck with the defective product unless I go to the actual store.
If I could go to the actual store I would not even bother to buy it online. I request a refund on the shipping. They said is none of their business.
I went to the store and returned the product. I then requested another same product because I really need a working monitor. They said it is currently out of the stock and tell me to just pay another extra $100 for another monitor with the same specs. They said other stores got stock, so I requested to have them to ship from other store and pick up at this store. They said they will not do it for a customer like me unless it is a very large shipment. They told me to go to other city to get it myself. I am extremely busy and need internet for work, and I also do not have a car. Both sales and manager said "no, we cannot help you".
At the end I finally found an open box, I decided to take it because I could not afford to lose any more time. After arguing with the sale, she gave me the original price (199.99)(because the product was no longer on promotion anymore 249.99) She said to me, "I am doing you a BIG favor and you are getting a BIG discount) after hearing that I am so mad that my face turned red. (no kidding) She scolded at me and said I am not appreciating what she is doing, and gave me bad face and bad attitude. Anyway, I quickly grab the open box lcd monitor and went home. Items in the open box item were scattered around. Parts were scratched. At the end, the open box I bought home was also defective. I went to the stoer second time and returned it. Ended up paying the shipping and not getting any working product.
Best Buy direct all responsibilities to manufacturer, saying is none of their business. I guess no more business for them. They are fast to customers, I mean fast at turning away customers. Sales were "well-trained" for this. Buyers, please beware. "
"BestBuy accepted my money but when part of the order did not come, directed me to complain to the maker of the product. I did not purchase from the maker of the product, in this case, Hewlet Packard, but with BestBuy, therefor BestBuy should provide me with the product they accepted payment for. If not, they should pay me the difference. Instead, they took my money and did not provide me with my purchase. I will never shop there again. Stan Thompson"
"I recently ordered Item: VS13960 through the phone. But I received a different item inside the package is VS13988-03 and an additional piece which is not mentioned or any instruction what to do with it or where it goes. The individual parts have sticker VS13988-03. I have asked for partial refund, customer representative repeatedly asked me to return the complete package. I am willing to keep the same which was shipped except for the additional piece and wanted partial refund. But repeatedly asking me to return the complete package which has been assembled to get a partial/complete refund which did not make any sense. I would not buy from the online BestBuy.com/phone anytime in future. So I gave up and ended up paying $150.00 more for the product I received. Since I didn't know where to go, so I thought of adding comments on this website."
"Best Buy is horrible!!! please do not buy anything or do anything with this company ever!!! they are so bad!!!!! stick to newegg or something else!!
STAY AWAY PLEASE!!!"
"Purchased washing machine from Mission Viejo store only because Tustin store was so helpful and was informed that they had no boxed stock on item I wanted to purchase. When arriving at Mission Viejo, I explained to the salesperson that I had driven down from the Tustin store because they only had open box left on the Samsung model. He tryed to sell me on the Whirlpool but I had decided this was the model I wanted. He never mentioned that he didn't have them in stock and that I would get an opened box washer or I would not have purchased. He forged my signature on the paperwork. The washer was delivered, I immediately told the driver I did not want an open box washer. He encouraged me to use the washer and that they would bring a new one out so that I could start my laundry. I tryed for 5-10 minute while he waited to get someone on the line but no one answered any phones at Best Buy. Finally I signed so as not to keep them waiting. My boyfriend calls Customer Service and they were no help at all. Told me to call the store. An hour later finally he gets the store manager. Meanwhile I try a load of wash. The washer leaked all over my garage with water. In tears I call up the delivery service and ask them to just bring back my washer and take this one away. The manager, customer service seemed not to care at all or bother to help in anyway. Does Best Buy care.....??? Definitely NOT..."
"Beware of in-store pickup! Unlike some others (Circuit City) which claim to have a handle on whether items are in stock at a store, Best Buy has this process where you place an in-store pickup order, then you are supposed to wait to receive a confirmation email (usually a few minutes to a few hours later) only after someone in the store physically gets the item off the shelf and holds it for you.
So, I placed an order, waited for the confirmation that it had been reserved for me. Drove 1/2 hour to the store, and they spend 1 hour searching the store... claiming that their inventory says they have 5 in stock, and saying they don't know where the one that was supposed to be reserve for me was placed.
They never end up finding it, offer me a similar item at the same price... I had ordered a 512MB Type H xD card, they only had type M 512MB cards, which they assure me are "newer" and compatible with all new cameras. For anyone who doesn't' know about xD cards, type M are newer support higher capacity (above 1GB), but are about 3 times slower to read/write. Since I don't want a card above 1GB, I want Type H, the fast kind.
The manager offered to give me the same $15 discount I was getting on the 512MB Type M card on a more expensive 1GB Type H card, which I accepted. There was a miscommunication between the clerk & manager, so she ended up giving me the 1GB card for the same price as I had originally paid, which saved me another $15 or so.
I wasn't about to complain about that, I had driven 1/2 hour and waited 1 hour because they can't get their act together.
The people were all pretty nice though and admitted their mistake and the manager basically said "do what it takes so he's happy", which I definitely appreciated."
"Best has the worst customer service ever!
I buy all my stuff from circuit city instead, they are not the best, but as far as customer service they are wayyyy above best buy.
The lines at Best buy are so longggggg, the cashiers always ask you for extended warranty, they keep scores on these for each cashier.
Try to call them, you are lucky if someone ever pick up the phone, even at not busy hours.
Try to price match, yeah! good luck!
bottom line, LOUSY SERVICE. Go find other stores who do price match, ask them to match best buy prices (bring the ad). Some stores even match 110% , so its even cheaper than best buy."
"On 31 December 2006, I ordered an HP computer from Best Buy's online New Years sale page. Two days later, I received an email telling me that there was a problem processing my order, so I called Best Buy customer service. They told me that there was a problem with my credit card. I called my bank - there was no problem because I was way under my limit and the purchase had been approved. I called Best Buy customer service once again, only to be told that my purchase had been flagged by their fraud unit - even though it had been approved by my bank. Several phone calls and emails followed, with Best Buy telling me that they were still having problems processing my order even though the transaction had been verified by my bank. Today, after receiving an email telling me that they were still having problems, I called and cancelled my order. I will never shop at Best Buy - store or online - again. They have taken customer service to new lows."
