"STAY AWAY!! Definitely a shady and dishonest company. I too was lured by the insanely low price for a Canon HV20 camcorder. After placing my online order Saturday night, I decided to do more research on this company after having received a very vague order confirmation. Thank God I came across this website. I felt sick to my stomach. What had I done!!! I immediately cancelled my credit card that same night so that they couldn't charge my card before I had a chance to call in and cancel my order first thing Monday morning being that they were supposedly closed Sundays. Well, I got an email Sunday morning from someone at BPC telling me to call him to "confirm" my order. I called immediately. From the moment he answered, I could tell something was not right. He didn't even state the compmany name, just "hello." I told him who I was and that I wanted to cancel my order. He asked why, and I told him, "just because I want to cancel it." He stated the order had already been processed and that I'd be charged a "cancellation fee" of $78. First of all, there was nothing in the website stating anything about a cancellation fee. Second of all, the website clearly states that orders are processed a minimum of two business days after the order is placed. The order was placed Saturday night, not even 12 hours prior to this conversation on Sunday morning. After reminding him a few times that there was nothing on the website about a "cancellation fee," he said, "I'll take it off." I'm assuming he meant the "cancellation fee." I couldn't stand to speak to him any longer, I said, "okay," hung up, and that was the end of it -- I hope. "

"Fell for the classic bait and switch. Internet ad for a Canon EOS D40 kit was $1,179 with free MP4 player and free shipping. The camera and lenses came, sans any warranty registration cards, for a total price of $2864. The package included a cheap lens cleaning kit, camera case, and tripod. The agent said that the internet offer was for a Japanese model with plastic lens mount. I guess that I received the US model, however the fact that the warranty cards were missing suggests that I might have a grey market item. I would, as have others, strongly recommend avoiding this company. I'm sorry I didn't do my due diligence first. "

"I wish I had the time needed to drive this company out of business. Buyers beware! I did not exercise due dilligence and I got burned. Needing a camera quickly for a trip I ordered the Canon EOS Rebel XTi Black Package #4. ($469.00) I called them to verify the order and I was asked if I wanted a lens upgrade, I agreed, I also ordered the fastest shipping. I thought that the total was going to be $660.00
It turned out to be $1310.00

I called them the minute I received the invoice and was greeted with a well practiced response.
I was scheduled to leave the next day to Europe and needing a camera I tried to make the best out of a bad situation and had them agree to send me a $100 flash card and just take my loss.

That good faith flash card was never sent. They basically added an extra $700.00 and called it a "ProPackage" The lens was not an upgrade but a standard Sigma 28-300 auto focus lens. Some of the throw ins were of Cracker Jack box quality.

Best regards,
Detlef Moeller

"This company is fraudulent. I ordered a Canon Powershot s5 is at the internet advertised rate. The sales person I ordered from was polite and actually sold the product at the advertised rate and made sure I rec'd it as promised. However, an advertised bonus pack was not included. When I phoned to notify of this, I went through 3 agents, 2 of whom told me I'd been given an upgrade to the retail Canon camera package instead of the advertised OEM product (advertised version explicitly stated factory sealed & US warranty product--they claimed I needed to ask for a "USA warranty" product). Abusive, double talk, finally agreed to send package after saying they would need to pay out of pocket for it. I am still investigating the service plan sold to me as " on sale." Bottom line is, at minimum, this is a bait & switch operation. However, the real concern for me is that numerous complaints have been logged re: stolen credit card info. Please warn others! I will need to cancel my credit card.
11/16/07 I finally received the bonus pack (minus one advertised item but with an upgrade to a better version of another product. The warranty looks like it may be bogus. I was told by the original sales person that the warranty I purchased could be serviced at or through Best Buy, which is close to where I live. I phoned the warranty company, Consumer Protective Services, where they also told me Best Buy was authorized. I phoned 2 Best Buy stores. None of the tech staff, including one person who handled every camera coming in for repair, had ever heard of the company. I phoned BPC to request a refund. They tried to switch me to a second warranty (RepairTech), saying I had been sold the wrong one. Again, Best Buy was cited as authorized service center. This time, I started asking more questions. They referred me to the web site, where Best Buy was listed without correct phone numbers. I phoned BB again--no one had heard of either company. I contacted BPC again, requesting a refund. They said it wasn't possible unless I returned the entire "package", including the camera. As confirmed on their own web site, the camera is offered without a package (but with a bonus pack) and certainly does not package a warranty. I finally told Lloyd I'd had enough and would dispute my purchase. He got flustered. I hung up. While I was speaking to my credit card vendor, he phoned back offering to authorize a return (without specifics). I phoned the extension given and got thrown in the queue, at which point I felt I'd gone the mile. End of story, I hope. DON'T BE TEMPTED TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM UNLESS YOU HAVE A LOT OF TIME, PATIENCE, PERSISTENCE AND RISK TOLERANCE! My discounted camera cost me nearly double in time spent.

"I ordered a Nikon D80 Camera body from BestPriceCameras. Prior to ordering I wanted to call and make sure it was in stock, and I got a guy who confirmed that it WAS in stock. So I placed the order online, and a couple days later received an email saying that the camera was on back order and there was no estimated arrival date. I emailed Jamie back, but he has not contacted me yet and it's been a week. I've called them countless times. I've been hung up on twice as soon as I started talking, and other times I've been put on hold countless times to be transfered to someone else. I finally talked to some guy who told me it could take up to 6 months for me to receive my camera. No place that is legitimate, takes 6 months to receive in cameras from their supplier and send them out to their customers. I tried calling to cancel my order during their stated hours of operation on their website (6:30 am - 11:00 pm ET) and the recording told me they closed at 6:00 pm on week nights and there was no place for me to leave a message. I called back and someone answered and then hung up on me. Finally I got through and canceled my order!

To all who read this and have similar problems, please contact Better Business Bureau to make complaints!

"This place is SHADY- we have been overcharged by close to $500 and they play games when you call. I have called and been on hold for hours in the last 4 days and they just answer the call, put you on hold, then the next guy answers and after you start asking questions they put you back in the customer service line. I cannot get them to call me back when I leave a voice mail. Bunch of crooks!- Thank goodness we are disputing it through our cc company. STAY AWAY from this place"

"I too placed on order on a Samsung LCD tv which was priced lower I called to confirm that the tv was in stock and I was asked if I wanted an extended warranty and cables. When I declined, I was informed that the tv did not include the pedestal that is usually attached and is included in every box because "they are a wholesale" place. This would cost me extra. I promptly told them that is what is called a bait and switch and canceled the order immediately."

"I, like most, was attracted by the low price. i placed my order and upgraded the shipping in hopes of receiving my new Canon 5D before next weekend. I emailed my father letting him know about the great deal I found and he replied to let me know that he had prior issues with this company and directed me to this site. I called their customer service this morning and asked them for a status on my order. They indicated that the camera was on backorder but they had a kit that included a lens at 4x the price. (the lens retails for $120) I declined and asked them to cancel the order. The CS rep aksed if I was sure and I said, "Absolutely!" He replied that I would be receiving an email indicating that the order was cancelled 'shortly'. I thanked him and hung up. Within 5 minutes I had the cancelation email. Whew! I feel like I dodged a bullet!

"The same story. Insanely low price. Surprise, it's on back-order.

On the bright side, I was only on hold for a few minutes and they agreed to cancel the order right away. Of course, I haven't seen a confirmation yet....

Stay far far away from this outfit.

"I ordered a Canon EOS 40D from these folks after seeing a great price in a shopping site (do not recall which one it was). The shopping site I found them on had nothing but glowing reviews. While on the site I noticed that accessories were priced through the roof so I did not order any. I received an order confirmation email but never received any shipping notice so I called after several days. I was then asked to confirm all the information so they could ship the camera (this is not how a legitimate site conducts its business). I was then literally badgered to buy accessories and told abruptly, when I refused, that the camera was on back order and it would be six to eight weeks. I then canceled my order after digging a little deeper and saw nearly all bad reviews on legitimate rating sites."

"My son purchased a Sony DCR-DVD408 Handy cam from Best Price Cameras for 579.00. For that price he received the DCR-DVD408, case, 5 pack DVD-R, screen protector. When I looked on their web site the gold package included the DCR-DVD408, 4- hr battery, case, tripod, 3 filters, cleaning kit, 5 pack DVD-R, screen protector, cap keeper all for 599.00. When I inquired about the small price difference and that the gold package included more stuff, I was informed that he also received a battery charger and the USB cable and output cables that they consider extras which are not included in the gold package. I just assumed that if I purchased a camera the battery, charger and cables are standard equipment, not at Best Price Cameras. Also my son got the US model with a US warrantee. I also checked out another web site Foto-Connections and their price was $100.00 cheaper, and the charger and cables are standard equipment. When I called Best price about this they just replied, “that are policy”. In short be warned when dealing with Best Price Cameras,

Larry

"I placed an order online Oct.15th for a Nikon D40 & a 512 memory card, which totaled $398.99. I received an email Oct.17 from Chris at Best Price Cameras (****@****) requesting a call to confirm the order.
I added additional items to my pending order & he hastily gave me a new total. I questioned the new amount - which was $592. There were additional fees I didn't agree to & I explicitly canceled the order at that time. Chris became very hostile and rude, stating that I could not cancel the order & I would be charged for the order (the order had not been processed yet). I replied by stating I am not authorizing this transaction or charge to my credit card. Again, he was rude and hostile and stated that I would be charged for the amount.
He did charge the full amount of $592 to my credit charge, which posted on Oct.17. A charge I did not authorize. I have since contacted my bank to report this as a fraudulent charge.
DON'T buy ANYTHING from this site or company!

"BEWARE!!!

DON'T BE FOOLED! Many price-comparison sites like SHOPPINGCARTUSA.COM are shams. BPC has many sister companies, all out of Brooklyn. ShoppingCartUSA is also in Brooklyn. Try posting a negative remark in their reviews and see if it shows up.

THEIR GAME: (Compiled from both my experience and others below)
Bait with extremely low price on the bigger items, lie about the quality of the advertised price and get you to agree to a higher price (for the same item!), try to sell you accessories that are marked up by as much as %500! with high pressure sales, if you don't take the bait, they say they're out of stock all of the sudden or much later in an e-mail. If you do take the bait, they ship inferior items, overcharge, replace real items with gray market items. If you call to complain or send orders back, you get bullying and sometimes threatening sales tactics. How these guys have not been shut down yet is beyond me. PLEASE REPORT ANY MORE ABUSE HERE, THE BBB, ATTORNEY GENERAL, ANYONE YOU CAN!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Below is an abbreviated version of what I went through (am still going through) with BEST PRICE CAMERAS.
As soon as I knew something was wrong, I changed my credit card and started figuring out the best way to proceed. Right now I'm in a no win situation and am trying to minimize the amount of exposure/vulnerability/damage to their tactics.
1. I ordered a "made for US market" Nikon D200 camera and Nikkor 18-200mm lens and received a gray market camera and lens.
2. I was told Nikon made plastic D200 bodies as well as magnesium alloy bodies as well as plastic mounting and steel mounting versions of the lens. Confirmed by Nikon that those were blatant lies. They've never made plastic versions of either. They of course charged me more for the "upgrades" because of this lie.
3. I ordered a 4GB hi speed compact flash card (2 for 1 so I got it at the 2GB hi speed price). They list it at $299 and gave me a $50 discount to $249. I received a 4GB regular card from Dane-Elec (?) which retails between $30 and $50. The SanDisk (known and reliable company) Extreme III hi-speed sells from $70 - $100.
4. I ordered a 2 for 1 deal on extra batteries. I was told the Nikon battery I was getting only lasted 2 hours and that these 2 would last 4 hours each. Cost was $199 ($50 discount). I received a Nikon battery and only one extra battery. These batteries go for $25-40 each.
5. I ordered these items one-by-one and not as a package. They did not send a purchase confirmation nor an order confirmation. On arrival the invoice had a package deal price and $0 next to each item making it difficult to dispute what prices were paid for what item. The total amount of items was also more than we had agreed on.
6. While on hold, the recording says they double box and insure your order. They don't tell you that they charge you for that. A $52 charge was added to my order for that service.
7. Long wait times, being transferred to sometimes 5 different people, sometimes hung up on, yelled at, threatened - THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE EVER HAD!!!

YOU WON'T SAVE. IT'LL COST YOU, ECONOMICALLY AND EMOTIONALLY.

I hope for you, unlike me, that you read this before you purchase.

"This place gives me the creeps. Like everyone said they should not be allowed to be in business at all. I ordered the Olympus E510 on their website which they advertised for $719. Damn! It sounded like a really good deal - more like "too good to be true." So I bought the item and did not receive any confirmation mail from or an order summary. I call in the next day and was transferred to Alan's voice mail. Left him a message but no calls were return. Finally, I was able to get hold of him on Friday and the moment he came on the phone he tried selling me the extended batteries and the extended warranties. i politely declined and told him "I need the camera like it is from the factory" He replied "OK" and hung up. At that moment my gut did feel like something wasn't right.
On Sunday I decided to search for reviews for this company and boy am I glad I found this site or what. I was horrified after reading the reviews. Immediately put a hold on all transactions on my Visa and called the company in the morning. I asked the guy (don't know his name) what are the package contents and he calmly replies "You are getting the 2 lens kit" then i asked him what about all the other things - battery, charger, cables, cd's, warranty card and the books. He replies "they are not included and that's why such a low price".
According to their website everything is FACTORY FRESH & FULL US WARRANTY...All BS. Don't fall for it. I canceled my order with them right away and I could sense him becoming obnoxious over the phone the moment I asked him to cancel the order. I feel like a dumb ass for falling for something like this.
Thanks, to all those guys who have posted up their experience with this fraud company. I am really glad I came upon this site earlier, but hey better late than never! Thank you for reading and let's continue to boycott this store...
I finally ordered my camera from Crutchfield and its already been shipped :)

"Like the rest of online shoppers, their websites got my attention for the lowest price for Sony DLSR A100 camera that I wanted. Ordered it and never got a confirmation number. Got a phone call a day after asking me if I want to upgrade the included lenses since they said it is made of plastic. I declined the said offer. Same day, I received an email telling me that the camera is a back ordered and waiting period of 6 to 8 weeks. Well as everyone been subject to the same run around, I called them the 19th of October asking about the camera, first put on hold for 15 minutes, then a man answered and put me on hold again for 5 minutes. Spoke to Manny who told me that the camera still not available. Cannot gave me any estimated date. This guy is rude even by New York standards. When I said that I will cancel the order, he become more sarcastic and obnoxious. I wish that a manager was standing by to hear this guy treats potential customer. I am an avid online shopper but this is first time encountered such stupidity talking to a customer rep. Anyone wanting to shop from this store, please take your business somewhere else. I wish I can do more to discourage online shoppers to buy stuff from bestpricecamera.com. I wish YAHOO will take down this site for good. Thank you for reading and let's continue to boycott this store..."
