"Do NOT use BestPriceCameras.
1. Warning! When you place in order, you’re not really placing an order. They wait a few days…then CALL YOU AND TRY TO SELL YOU CRAP YOU DON’T NEED. Both the wait and the call are a complete waste of time.
2. When they do call you and leave a message, and then you call them back and leave a message (your “sales rep” is never there) they will wait another few days to return your call.
3. THEY TELL YOU THEY ARE SHIPPING THE PRODUCT TO YOU….but it’s conveniently on back order. They never tell you this.
4. Each time you call and wait for 20 minutes on hold and then beg them not to stick you in someone’s voicemail again, they do it anyway. EACH TIME.
5. And now weeks have gone by and you have a big event and you’re gutted because the camera product you ordered was never actually going to get to you.
I was forced to cancel my order. I’ll never use them again and hope at least one person is saved from my review.

"Without reading the reviews first, I ordered a Fujifilm S9100 online from Bestpricecameras and then printed the completion page out. It did not list the camera price on it so I called the next day to confirm the cost of the camera. I was told the camera does not come with batteries and I would need to purchase some. I told them I knew it takes 4 AA batteries and I can buy them anywhere. He then said it comes with no cable or software. I told him that was odd because all camera's come with cables and software, but I said this was no big deal as I could use the cable from my old Fujifilm camera and I don't use their software anyway. He then told me it would be 2 weeks before it would ship. I said "wow" but said I would wait. This is where I started looking at reviews and saw the similarity and decided to call back to cancel the order. Naturally I was hung up on. Now on Sept 13th, I haven't received a confirmation or a cancellation email so I got sick of the game and cancelled my credit card as I gave that information also. Thank you all for your reviews, it looks like it will save me many hassles."
"I purchased a canon 40d body and the sale was place on pending status until I called the sales representative, Ken. When I called Ken insisted that I had to also purchase the battery, charger for an additional 290$. When I declined he said the order would take up to 6 weeks to ship. I canciled the order and he was rude but agreed. I think this place is a rip off and the low price is just a scam: I WILL NOT DEAL WITH THESE FOLKS AGAIN, AND I WARN OTHERS!"
"Ordered a Pentax K100D at $279 on 9/1/2007. Called on Sunday, 9/2/2007, to request that the $15 shipping charge be removed, as they had advertised free shipping on ShopCartUSA.com. The support person asked if I'd like to buy batteries. I told him, no, that I had plenty. He said he would remove the shipping charge—that the charge
was an "accident." I called on Wednesday, 9/5/2007, to check the order status. Tony implied that my order was not "confirmed"—meaning, I suppose, that they had not confirmed to ship to me. Tony asked if I'd like to buy some memory. I told him I had plenty. He siad I should have tracking number by email within 2–3 days. I did not receive an email with tracking number, so I called on Monday, 9/10/2007 to cancel the order. It had become apparent to me that they were not going to ship. I had ordered the item from BuyDig.com on Saturday, 9/8/2007, received a confirmation the same day, and a shipping notice the next day, Sunday, 9/9/2007. I paid $100 more than the advertised price of Best Price Cameras (but only $85 more if BPC had charged me $15 shipping.

"I recieved a Nikon D50 for Christmas, the camera showed up w/no lens, body only. After thinking the price was too low to include the lens anyway I deided to go out and purchase one. All was good, I had my camera and was taking excellent photos. August 2007 came, the camera malfunctioned, assuming that it was still under manufacturers warranty I sent it back to Nikon. Nikon kept my camera and sent me a certfied letter stating the camera was STOLEN from them in Hong Kong a couple years ago. I called J and K to ask them what they plan to do about it. They said they had never had this happen before and would have the owner call me back. Well a week went buy and no word. I called back and got a hold of a customer representitve who transferred me to someone else, he stated that the best he could do was giving me back $300.00, I paid $494.00. He said that the camera was discontinued and the best he could do was give me $300. This situation is still not resolved but I have found that j and K operates under several names. I would check them out throughly before buying anything. Do not just look at feedback on Ebay..."
"Here is my experience with this store: They offered extremely attractive prices for Nikon Digital SLR cameras packages. After having carefully browsed the website and 3rd party online store reviews (regretfully, not this website), I placed the order for a D80 package online and gave them my credit card information. Then the first unusual thing happened. There was no order record in the shopping cart even I had registered into my account. It just seemed as if nothing ever happened. However, after about 2 days, I got an email from the store, asking me to call to confirm the order. So I did. It took me about 30 minutes to finally reach somebody. Then the salesman offered me something else, the battery at an outrageous price, but I simply declined. Then he said the order would be shipped within three weeks. I agreed and waited for three weeks. The scary part was that I still didn't have any order number or any format of written confirmation of the order. During the three weeks, the price kept changing and going up actually, but I kept a printout of the offer on the day when I placed my order, so I was not worrying too much about that. After three weeks, I made an unsuccessful and very unpleasant attempt to reach the customer service. Then I sent the salesman an email asking what was going on with my order. I did not receive any response for that. Finally after one more week, I took the effort calling them again, this time just to cancel the order. And it worked! They actually swiftly sent me an email, confirming my order without order number has been canceled. I was relieved. Well, if you ask me how I feel about this store, I would honestly tell you that the way they are doing business is suspicious and scary. If you are lucky enough you may eventually get what your ordered, about which I remain conservative, but chances are you would feel lucky enough just to escape from it."
"Ordered item on 9/05/2007 via website, item stated to be factory fresh and in stock. Received email to call on 9/06/2007. When I called I was asked as to why I was buying a camera body without battery, cables, body cap etc.( these items are supplied by the manufacturer with the camera body and would be present unless the packaging had been opened and they had been removed). When I stated that the order was correct and the body was all I wanted, I was told that the item was "back ordered" and it would be 4-6 weeks before it was available. ( If this were, in fact the case, that should have been the first line of the conversation, IMHO). When I said that I didn't understand, the website stated that the item was in stock, I was told that the order was cancelled and that someone was updating the website as we spoke. The website continues to show the item as in stock as I write this.
I think that there was never any intention to sell the item at the advertised price ( which certainly was attractive) and that this is the "bait and switch etc" that so many others have mentioned. My own feeling is that there was an attempt to sell me items/accessories which were in fact included in order to raise the final price.
I cannot reccommend this merchant. There appear to have been several hundred complaints filed against them with the NYC BBB, most of them seemingly similar to incidents reported here.
It may be possible, if you get lucky, or argue load enough to get what they advertise. I'm just happy that I am no longer one of their customers."
"Wow....thank goodness for this site. I told my friend about this camera site while I was on the phone with them. All I wanted to know was if my order had shipped....I got sent to a voicemail. Once that happened my buddy referred me to this site....I started sweating!
I called back right away, got a hold of someone and asked them to verify my order....they guy took forever then came back wanting my CCV number...I definitely wasn't planning on giving it to him and asked him if it shipped yet. He kinda raised his voice and said "No not yet because I need your CCV#!"...I then told him "great!...glad it's not shipped, because I want to cancel the order"....he replied with "Why didn't you freaking tell me you wanted to cancel it in the beginning you MORON!" My jaw dropped because I wasn't expecting the sales person to yell at me....too funny. He ended saying "consider it canceled" and hung up on me!
I immediately verified no charges were made on the card and cancelled the card. Thanks to all for posting on this site....lifesaver."
"Thank you ro everyone that has posted their stories, experiences, and information about bestpricecameras.com!
I myself had made a huge mistake this morning by placing an order with them for a camcorder after finding the "bait and switch" price on a product search. I guess I got lost in the excitement, anticipation, and ignorance when I saw the price.
Well, after not receiving any type of confirmation via email all day, and further thought on the insanely low price, I knew something wasn't right and I screwed up. After reading the first page of reviews here, I picked up the phone and cancelled my credit card that minute. Yes, it's a minimal hassel waiting for the replacement CC, but I fell so lucky having only to go through a 5 minutes conversation and waiting about a week for the replacement than having to possibly go through what some many others have reported here. And thank goodness nothing had been charged to my CC yet.
So once again, thank you to everybody that posted to this site about this company. You have all saved me what would probably have been a living nightmare over a simple little camcorder. I'll just wait until the new CC comes and get it from Best Buy of somewhere like that. Somewhere that acutally has the product I can put my hands on and see what exactly I'm getting (say like... an included battery and charge maybe).
THANKS AGAIN!!!"
"I ordered a Nikon D80 camera (body only) for around 300.00 and was told it was on back order....when I called to ask when I could expect delivery they tried to sell me another D80 package at a much higher higher price( around 800.00)...told me they had no idea when I would get the camera I ordered....this is hook and switch"
"Like all the other reviewers say, these people are dishonest. Avoid them."
" Best Price Cameras 1965 McDonald AVE Brooklyn is the worst company I have ever dealt with.
When I ordered the camera, I was told the Canon lenses were plastic(Lie), I fell for the BAIT AND SWITCH. Put the lipstick on the pig and sell it! They sent low quality Tamron lenses as an upgrade. The upgraded lenses were to be titanium with 40 elements. I found the same lenses on the internet for $200.00 (total for the 2) . I was charged about $1000 extra for the upgrades. I called 4 times for a return authorization number. They refused to give me one. I shipped the goods back signature required and they signed for it. I filed a complaint with my credit card company and with Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo State of New York Bureau of Consumer Fraud and Protection 120 Broadway, 3rd floor NY, NY 10271-0332 . Please file a complaint with the Arty Gen. "
"After doing research into camcorders, I decided to purchase a Canon HV20. I did a search for best prices and found, on the web at least, that this company had a 5 star rating. I now believe this to be fraudulent.
First, after placing the order, I researched this company for myself and found many complaints about products not being shipped until you actually speak to a person at Bestpricecameras. When calling, you are told that products won't work unless you also purchase batteries and chargers, etc. I became worried.
Well guess what? The email came to me stating I had to call bestpricecameras to talk about my order. I was told that the only thing holding up my shipment was they needed the CC security code number. I, stupidly, gave it to them. I was then told I had to purchase a battery to make the camera work and that it would only cost $120 or so dollars. I knew I was caught in the routine I had been warned about by so many other buyers.
I told the person to cancel the order. No good byes - just silence. The end. I immediately called the CC company and cancelled my card. This too was advice provided by fellow purchasers who warn us about these things.
I have seen reports that after cancelling an order with these people that fraudulent charges begin appearing. I can't say this to be true, but I DID CANCEL MY CARD!!!
My advice is to not deal with these people!!! In all my years of Internet purchasing, I have never run into people like this. I have purchased TVs, computers, etc. in the past. Its a shame that people like this give Internet sales a bad name."
"Complete & total fraud.
When you talk to the customer service rep - they tell you:
"What lens do you want? You don't want a lens? Ok, hold on ... your camera's out of stock. We don't have a restock date."
Order a different model: out of stock
Call for service, get hung up on. Ask for advice, please hold (while we call a real camera store and find out what we should suggest to you ... then come back with THE WRONG ANSWER!)
If the price is too good to be true, then IT IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE."
"I ordered the New Canon EOS 5D, I called to confirm my order and was yelled at for "not being a serious photographer", was told I was wasting their time, that I was pathetic and that they didn’t want my business if I was not going to buy up form the $1,649 model to the $4,800 model, then called me a filthy name and hung up on me. I called back to cancel my order and got a different person that told me all was fine and it would ship that day. I told them I didn’t want to do business with them and to cancel my order. He then told me tough, he was sending it out anyway and will change me a cancellation fee, extra shipping and a restocking fee if I try to send it back. He further yelled at me that I will take what is sent in Chinese with a substituted lens package if he felt like including what I ordered. I again told them to cancel my order and ended the call.
I better not get anything in the mail from them.
Never in my life have I dealt with such horrific personalities.
I then called Canon and confirmed they only make one model and Canon suggested that I do not do business with bestpricecamers.com because they are not selling legitimate Canon merchandise.
Buyer beware, if the price is too good to be true, it is too good to be true.
Don’t do business with these guys, you will get hurt.
