"Like so many of you, I wish I would have found this site BEFORE I placed my order. Place is a complete ripoff, no conformation email, no shipping date, no tracking #'s nothing, and no help when you call. If the price sounds to good to be true it is. I live out in the styx and have to buy the majority of my stuff online, I have never had a problem before this company. Save your time, money, and sanity. Buy from a reputable company. Hope this helps.

"I have read several of the bad reviews here and just had a similar unbelieveable experience. I was suckered into ordering a Canon 40D at their shockingly low price which was 1/2 of what reputable stores were advertising. I often run into legitimate great deals on the internet and figured this to be one of them. After placing the order, I never received a confirmation invoice or order #. Strange, but I thought maybe it was on it was stuck in a slow email system, so I wasn't too concerned until a few hours later when I get a call from a guy named ALAN who sounded like he was very busy and in a hurry to "complete my order". He had me repeat all of my personal ordering info back to him (Name, address, and credit card info. He needed the 3 digit code on the back of my card which I couldn't give to him because I didn't have the card with me.
He started out with the typical "You need a battery" which I replied that I already own a Canon 20D and know as a fact that all of my assesories are interchangeable with the 40D. I am maxed out with "assessories", and told him that I just wanted the body.
Here's where things go really bad! Since he wasn't getting anywhere with me, he decided to completely make something up by telling me (in a rushed and disgusted sounding voice) that the bare camera I was ordering at the the great low price was going to be "inoperative." because it comes without (GET THIS!!!) ANY FIRMWARE!!! "The camera will not work without the firmware loaded. If we send you the order as it is now you will not be able to use it until you go through the extra work of sending it in to a camera repair center who will charge you a large amount of $$$ to install the firmware!"
This sounded really wrong to me so I told him that firmware always comes included with cameras and if by chance what he was saying were true, I could probably download the firmware from Canons' website. He assured me that would not be possible, and for a price higher than most I found on the internet, I would be able to purchase the camera, firmware, and maybe even a battery! I told him that he was ridiculous and that he should cancel my order immediately. He angrily grumbled something that I didn't understand then hung up on me.
After that, I called Canon tech support to ask them about the Firmware thing and the tech support person (extremely nice & helpful lady) says "NO WAY! Stay away from that company!!! It's a SCAM!!!!" Then added that ALL cameras come preloaded with FIRMWARE, and that the scam artist totally made up something that was truly ridiculous! She advised me to NEVER buy from that company (or one of it's alias companies). She then refered me to this website.
I don't usually take the time to write reviews but I just HAD to this time. I'm still sitting here shaking my head! Wow."
"Purchased Nikon D40 + 18-200mm VR lens from this seller on ebay as he was selling it at a real low price. Did not know how I could go wrong. After ordering, I was given a phone call from jandkcameras.com company salesman who tried to sell me additional stuff and additional warranties. Then I got doubtful about the entire deal as he said that I won't get any default warranties. Upon researching on this site and other sites, I found that they sell "gray items" - basically cameras purchased in the manufacturers original country (in this case, Japan) and sell it in US at a much lesser price (and good profits). But upon calling Nikon and asking what's with such a piece, the Nikon customer representative outrightly asked me to avoid such a piece as no Nikon would void all warranties in that case and will not repair such a piece even after paying money. Then I called jandkcameras.com and asked if it was "gray" - the sales person was frank enough to accept that it was "gray" and that they provide some other warranties - which I am sure is not a reputed one.
So, backed out of the transaction - the salesperson said that he would refund my entire money if I leave a positive feedback. Scared that my money is stuck, I left a positive feedback saying that we had cancel the transcation based on confusion on warranties (however, who reads positive feedback)... no wonder this ebay seller has > 99% feedback.
Just wanted to share this with you folks.

"The actual price is higher than declared.
I did not get polite customer service from a guy named Victor. His words among the others: "I am not going to sleep bad tonight because you canceled the order". So unprofessional!"
"All I have to say is HORRIBLE!!!!! Do not buy from this company all of its a scam!
I wanted to buy a Nikon camera for a friend so I went ahead and purchased online. I received the confirmation order so I called where I got to meet Ken, he started with the whole story that the lens is plastic if I wanted glass than it was extra money and so on....I really did not do my homework for the camera so I called my friend to let him know. What he wanted was the lens offered in the package (Nikkor) so after the 3rd call to Ken to tell him that I wanted what was on the internet he told me to stop calling and that my order was cancelled. I demanded an explanation why he cancelled and it turned out that it was out of stock. Up to now nothing has been charged to my credit card but I went ahead and cancelled it for safe measures after reading all the feedback.
Horrible Business and Customer Service is pathetic!! Very rude people, not worth the hassle!"
"Sorry, I reported about risk of credit card number, but I find another scam info. So I delete my guess."
"Placed an order on line for the Fuji S9100
the website price was 449.00 with free shpping for gold package.
However after placing order was told total was 569.00 ask what the extra 120.00 was for was told for shipping insurance? Then Ken tried to pressure me into buying an extra mb card for a total of 599.00. (an extra 150.00 more than adertised price)"
"Worst experience I have ever had. Ordered Canon Rebel Xti (Blk) online. Got a call from Chris (xt 244) a day or two later asking me what battery I wanted to purchase. I told him that I didn't want to purchase a battery and that the one that came with it would be sufficient. He told me that it didn't come with a battery or charger and that I could by a batttery for $139.00. I mentioned to him that their own web site stated "Factory fresh and Brand New. I also stated that nowhere on the web site did it state that no battery or charger is mentioned. He got uspset with me and said you'll have your camera in 3 to 4 weeks and hung up on me. When I called back to check on the order a week later I was told the camera is on back order and it would be another 3 to 4 weeks. I have since canceled the order.......There guys are running a scam...DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM....They have no intention of delivering any product at advertised prices...."
"NEVER EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! I ordered a panasonic svr-h200 (best deal i found on the web, so i thought) and everything seemed to go great. after a few days a guy called me to confirm my order and asked if i would like to buy a battery for $180 (he said that it doesn't come with one)! i said no, i just want what is on my order, he told me that he would mark the order as confirmed and it should ship soon. after not seeing anything for a couple of weeks i called back. Someone else answered, and claimed that an email was sent (it wasn't) to let me know that my product was on backorder...imagine that. I wish i would have seen the massive amounts of horrible reviews for this website before i ever placed my order... i always buy things online, w/o problems, i guess i was fooled by what appeared to be awesome prices... Why do companies think they can be this dishonest and untrustworthy! They are nothing but scam artists! trust me, i'm not going down without a fight!"
"On Aug 3, 2007, I ordered a Nikon D40x camera body and a Nikon 18-135 lens from Bestpricecameras.com (BPC). They sent the lens ($385, about an $85 inflated charge), but they did not send the camera body. They said it was "back-ordered." Over the next six weeks I was told "It will be in in two weeks," "It will be in about the middle of September," and "It won't be in for six weeks." I am sure that they never intended to send me the camera that they advertised for $275 (that reputable dealers sell for $600 and more)! During the six week wait I even called and asked if I could buy a Nikon D40x package. They said that it was in stock. I eventually canceled my order when I realized that this was a dishonest and unethical business. They were more than happy to cancel my order for me.
BPC makes their money on the peripherals and kits they sell. They advertise low-ball prices that they do not intend to fulfill unless they can make up the difference in the other things they sell you. If I hadn't canceled my order I might have waited indefinitely for my camera body. Never once was I contacted by anyone at BPC explaining why (or even that) my camera body was not available.
ShopcartUSA (a "clearinghouse for camera sales web sites) calls them a "featured merchant," gives them a "five star" rating, and has over 4000 rave reviews for them. This "business" is as dishonest and unethical as BPC. "
"The most horrible experience you can imagine. A pure scam. They "unbundle" the charger, battery, software etc that comes in the box and try to sell it separately.Their lies...
"The Canon lenses are old, we recommend the Sigma lenses."
"The Canon lenses with steel mounts cost more...the ones in the ad have plastic mounts."
"The battery costs $195"
You get the idea....a rip off.
"
"Wow. Thank you very much for this site and all the reviews on Bestpricecameras.com. I placed an order tonight for a D80 thinking I got a great deal. I consider myself very internet savvy and I got tricked. Thanks to this site I cancelled my credit card immmediately. Hopefully these idiots get the hint and don't try to collect. Thanks again to all of you for posting your experiences with this company. "
"This experience with Best Price Cameras has been a nightmare! I should have realized that this was a "Bait & Switch" shop when my Sales Rep refused to let me have a itemized copy of the Invoice! He said that he would walk me through the order as it now stood & "help" with several issues. He asked "You don't want these three (3) lenses do you, they have plastic lens mounts?". I asked how that could be when there is only one (1) description for each lens on their web-site & no mention is made of grey-market, inferior lens options at different prices. He said it would cost me $150 per lens to get the Canon USA lens with factory warrenty. I told him that the advertising already showed metal lens mounts & oferred USA 1-year warrenty. He said this was a different warrenty for grey-market lens. I asked IF the Canon EOS D40 which I had ordered was also grey-market & he said NO, but I would need to purchase the camera Battery & Charger separatly! He said this would be $250 extra. He then tried to sell me additional warrenties for my items & I refused. I needed to see itemized invoice & was refused! I will refuse delevery!
As of 10/11/07, I have refused delivery & returned package to sender where it was received on 10/01/07. VISA advised me to contact Best Price Cameras & request them to credit my VISA account. Best Price Cameras Manager refused to accept any responsibility for their business practices, saying less than 1% of their customers complain so 99% must be happy! I told him to credit my VISA for full amount & he refused saying I owed 10% Restocking Fee + 6% Shipping & Insurance. I told him to cancel my order & that I would turn this matter over to BofA VISA Billing Dispute Division for resolution."
"i sure wish i knew about this site before placing an order with these scamming yahoos. i'm pretty sure the .25 out of 10 satisfaction rating would have steered me away. i had a similar experience to many other posts. placed an order for a canon digital rebel xti package. got a call a couple days later informing me the lenses in that package were plastic. did i want to upgrade to glass lenses for another $140 per lens. when i asked why that wasn't clear on the website, my "answer" was that they were a wholesaler, which clearly doesn't answer the question at all. the rep (ken) was rude and acted like he had no time for me, despite the fact HE had called ME. while we were still talking he declared he would cancel the order and immediately hung up before i had a chance to say anything. clearly the best resolve in the end. how does a place like this stay in business?"
"I think that this company engages in false advertising. I ordered a Pentax K100D Super for $379 and was later told that this package did not contain software and firmware. The website does not say that the package is incomplete. The software and firmware adds $100. They insist that this is legal because on other pages of their site they say that the product may be a wholesale package and not have everything needed to be able to use the camera. My only recourse was to cancel. They would not honor the advertised price."
