***Because I was a first time renter and renting two very expensive lenses I had to go through verification check by sending them a picture of my license, my credit card, and a third bill of any sort showing i lived where i said I did. Understandable due to the risk on their end, but a bit annoying and not known to you while placing your order.

4. Communication while waiting for lenses: 3 stars
***it's all too last minute giving you the feeling the lenses might come too late

5. Receipt of lenses: 1 star
* Both lenses arrived filthy, particularly the 24-70. If they supposedly quality check the lenses before shipping besides the outside of the lens, how is it when zooming in and out on the 24-70 the entire column rotating inside the lens was covered in dirt/dust. I mean this lens was seriously filthy! The UV on the 24-70 had a scrape. The 24-70 came packed in a beaten up ZIP LOCK BAG-yup they threw the $2300 lens I was responsible for in a ZIP LOCK bag before putting it in the protective cushioning. I did test shots with both lenses and they worked well enough so I let the dirt and sandwich bag issues go. P.S. the packing you receive (box, cushions, sandwich bags), is what you will use to ship back to them.

-Lenses were sent back by me for UPS shipping on Monday and "Jeff" signed for them on Tuesday 10/22. Saturday morning 10/26 I see an email from them saying the 70-200L is missing the tripod collar and if I don't return it a replacement charge will be billed to my CC.. First, I never removed the collar and was in fact using it the entire trip. Second when I was shipping the items back and slipping the lens back into the lens case I caught myself almost shipping them back my tripod plate. So besides knowing I never removed it, I clearly know it was attached when I shipped it. It is obvious from my experience that their returns and shipping department is a complete mess and staff there are not doing their due diligence when shipping and receiving lenses.

I have sent them an email stating the above and also contacted my cc to put on file I will dispute any charges from them from today's date.

word of advice:

Try another lens borrowing service or only do in person borrowing so the staff can check off in your presence that all items are received. Their slip shoddy workers could result in a headache for you.

I will post a follow up with the outcome of this situation. In any event, neither me or my friend who also rented a lens from them for this trip, will do business with them again."
