"Stay away! They told me the item was in stock and proceeded to try to talk me into various overpriced accessories and warranties. When I politely refused them all I was told that now this was the "International version" and would take 3-4 weeks for them to get in from overseas. If I bought the accessories or warranties they'd "upgrade" me for free to the "USA version". This was the Minolta S414 for $264. What a scam. I cancelled my order. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!"
"I may be lucky! I ordered an Canon A60 from these guys a few days ago. An email came telling me to call so they could harass me about buying other stuff. (ALL ONLINE STORES WHO DO THIS ARE BOGUS, I'D CALL IF I WANTED TO TALK!) I declined all offers and the salesman wasn't overly insistent, but nonetheless ANNOYING. Later that day I went to research this store and came across some terrible reviews on this site. Gray market electronics? Uhhhhhh... no thanks. The next morning, I decided to cancel the order immediately. I called and cancelled. The same night, I received an email stating that my camera was shipped! Now, I am expecting delivery on Wednesday and I am praying that it will come NEW and unopened, and NOT as a gray market version of the camera. I'm still unsure of what to expect, but if it does come new, I'd have to say that the price I got the camera for is incredible. Besides not cancelling my order when I even spoke to someone, *SHUDDER*, the price and speed of processing was good. That is, unless they only shipped it to prevent me from cancelling.. Bottom line: BE CAREFUL.

"Buyer Beware!!! Broadway Photo plays fast a loose. My fiancé attempted to purchase a specific digital camera for my birthday. They attempted to take advantage of her. The sales person sold her the imported version of the camera “Japan Only” (No warranty - Missing U.S. parts/software) they also claimed that they were giving her a great discount by selling her a camera bag for $200 claiming it normally sells for $249 ... the only way this bag would be worth $249 would be if someone left $210 in side of it. But they didn’t stop there she was also sold a lenses for $200 "at a discount" that is widely available for $70, $99 filters sold for $199. Being an attorney I was able to resolve the problem with a visit to the Broadway warehouse. So unless you have an attorney on retainer in New York, buy from a more reputable store even if it cost a little more money."
"I placed an online order for a digital camera with this company. The next day I received an email that I needed to confirm the order by phone. That sounded reasonable. Accessories were suggested and I was reasonably satisfied with limiting my purchase to things I'd originally planned to buy anyway. I fell, unfortunatley, for the idea of upgrading to a "package" price for the camera and accessories to save a few dollars on these items. Shipping was very expeditious (3 days for UPS ground), but when I unpacked the merchandise I was surprised to find very off-brand selections for the accessories. Nothing I would be willing to put on or in my camera. My mistake for not asking. However, the "package price" meant that I could not return the accessories, only. So... I'm about to ship back the camera and all other items. Happily they dropped their standard 5% restocking fee, but I am out the $50 shipping they charged (shipping on the camera, alone, for my original order was only $20). Buyer beware!"
"I just bought a Canon G3 camera from this website. The transaction couldn't have gone better. They offered some great prices on accessories and everything arrived in four business days. I will definitely check them out next time I am in the market."
"STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE
Complete bad news. Placed my order for an Olympus C-5050 camera, then received an e-mail stating that I needed to call to confirm. My reply after that conversation:
"Per my discussion with Jason (x210), I am cancelling my order (#124XXXXX). Prior to placing the order, I discussed the Olympus C-5050 camera, price, and U.S. manufacturers warranty with John (x216). Now Jason (x210) tells me that it's a grey market camera with no warranty. Please cancel my order immediately. Should you charge my credit card for anything I will dispute the charges. If you need to reach me..."
These people are scam artists. Look elseware!"
"I called to order Sony PD-150 on February 4, 2002. The advertised price was $2,309.00.
I ordered online since it said it was in stock.
Two days later I called to follow up on the order. They said it's back order 2 to 3 weeks. I said, I will wait. Three weeks later I called again. They said it's still back order 2 to 3 weeks. I hang up the phone. Call again, this time, I pretend that I want to buy the PD-150 and wondering if it's in stock. The guy said, yes. I said, "great, I've been waiting for my PD150." The guy put me on hold. Some other guy came to answer the phone. Now, I know and they know they're trying to hussle money out of me. They said the PD150 I'm looking for is not available. As far as I know, Sony only released one model of PD150.
Bottom line is that these people are crooked!!!
They advertised one price but trying to sell you something else.
Oh, when I purchase this online, they called and left a message that the credit card has some bad number. I asked him, what number you got? I filled it out on computer, plus I also printed out the page. I crossed check it and the number is correct. I knew this company tried to hussle customer/me from the beginning. I was just playing along. :-)

"I purchased a $339 Minolta F100, having it work up to $499 with add-ons including a $30 shipping fee that took a week to get to my by ground. After using the camera for a week I discovered the mechanical focus did not operate right and the sound card did not work.
I called for an RMA and sent it back on 2/25. I was promised a new camera to be "overnighted" to me upon their recieving it. They got the camera on 2/28 at 11:47 AM.
Today is the evening of March 20th and I have no camera. I was promised 3 times it would ship "today" and I would have it next-day. Most recently on Monday, the gentleman told me it should have shipped two weeks ago and he would send it right out. Don't call if it doesn't show up because we are closed for the holiday. I said,"What holliday?" He said, "It's a Jewish holiday and the owners are Jews." I have no idea why he felt like I cared.
Anyway, tonight they said it would ship, AGAIN (fourth time now) and I would have it tommorrow March 21. Ya right."
"I have to disagree with any of the negative comments about Broadway Photo. I placed and order without any hassle. There was no bait and switch with my order. I ordered the Fuji S-602 and that is what i got. The guy that took my order over the phone (Jake) was real nice and helpfull. My order was delivered as promised in the time frame i was given. I will buy from this company again in the future. Thankyou for the good service Broadway Photo."
"My problem with this company was resolved after several phone calls and several E-mails.
They do not pay very close attention to details, so try to get as much in writing as possible if you are trying to resolve the dispute.
My saga started with the purchase of the Sony DSC-F717 Cybershot Camera, listed on the website for $689.00 (it is now listed for less than that).
You MUST print out the receipt that indicates what you ordered, the tax, shipping and Total amounts. This is the evidence you need to counter all of their garbage about US packages vs. Japanese Packages (they told me after I was in dispute, that the unit advertised comes with a 30 minute battery, which is the Japanese Package), and therefore even though I wanted to return all of the accessories, I would not get more than 1/2 of the excess charges refunded because I was shipped the US package.
Document everything, and tape record everything when you speak with them (let them know you are taping them, just to safely avoid violating any laws since your state may frown upon such activity).
The man you want to speak with is Andy Cooke. But you should really do all communications in writing. His E-mail is "****@****" Be very careful when responding to E-mail from him. Their E-mail system (as of 3/4/03) is set up so that his return address is wrong (****@****, leaving out the letters "at"), so that you can't reply to his response to you. He says that is inadvertent, but I am not so sure. Just make sure you check the address when hitting reply.
You must check your shipping invoice very carefully. In addition to receiving product you did not order, or the invoice may also describe things as being "sony" when they are not sony at all. And the sales tax on my invoice was calculated on the entire purchase amount including the shipping and handling amounts. But get this, the invoice said the tax was calculated only on the purchase amounts, excluding shipping and handling. The only way to know is to do the math yourself.
Andy told me that the customer service representative was just wrong and that the battery shipped with the japanese marketed camera is the same battery as that shipped for the U.S. marketed camera.
He had no explanation for why I was told that the camera shipped with a 30 minute battery. I chose not to press him on ANYTHING. I only demanded a refund for the difference between what I ordered over the Web and what was sold to me by the salesperson. In other words, I took the gross amount of the inflated invoice and deducted the gross amount of the internet invoice and demanded the difference be credited to my account.
This they agreed to do, and to send federal express to pick up the accessories that I do not want, at their cost. He even offered to let me keep the camera carrying case for the trouble I went through.
If you do decide to do business with them, when it is time to talk to the salesperson to "confirm" your order, do not simpy buy what he is selling you. Make sure he follows up with an itemized E-mail with the suggested accessory purchases, including model and manufacturer number and price, for you to consider.
Keep in mind that even though they tell you that you MUST buy the extended warranty the same date that you buy the camera, MACK Warranty only requires that you do so within 30 days of the purchase.
They never return an E-mail sent to their general support and info addresses. But Andy is a good egg, he returns your email. But be careful with him,not only have I been given the wrong telephone number to reach him, but also the wrong federal express account number to send the stuff back on their dime (he missed it by one digit, but then arranged with FEDEX to pick it up at my office tomorrow).
Please feel free to E-mail me at ****@**** if you want to discuss further.

"I just ordered a Fuji F601 camera from digitalliquidators.com. They were the lowest price I found online.
After you purchase an item, they send you an email saying you have to call them to confirm your order. During that phone call they asked me why I would order a digital camera without a battery or any memory.
I stated that a battery is typically standard with ordering this camera. They persisted that a battery and SmartMedia card was not standard. I paid the extra money for a battery. (Stupid move on my part.)
When the camera arrived all of the documentation stated that the battery and a 16 MB SmartMedia card comes standard. When I called Digital Liquidators to complain, they brushed me off saying that the salesmen saved me from waiting 6 months to have the camera shipped from Japan by upgrading me to the American version which does have the battery as standard equipment.
I explained that I had called Fuji North America and they said that all of the F601 come standard with a battery and memory. Digital Liquidators said that Fuji North America would not know, and that I would have to call Fuji Japan. After asking them for the number of Fuji in Japan, they said it is on the camera box (No it is not.)
I called Fuji North America again and recieved an email address for Fuji Japan. I am currently waiting to hear back from them.
It is not allot of money, but it is the principle. Digital Liquidators advertise low prices, and then try to get you on accessories and shipping. Even by reselling camera parts that come standard in the camera you are already getting. If you buy anything from Digital Liquidators, I recommend that you do not buy any accessories from them. I have had excellent experiences with other companies like DataDrive4all.com where I bought the cradle for this camera.

"In short, I experienced the same horror stories as the other reviews... completely down to items that were in the original packaging having been removed from my shipment.
To date I have tried contacting these people three times to no avail. Thier website guarentees responses within 24 hours... don't believe it.
I found the same bait and switch routines as the other reviewers...
In short, I want people to realize that they should NEVER buy anything from this vendor. I certainly will not... ever again. And, I feel passionately enough about it to spend a good amount of time telling this to other people."
"What a nightmare.
I used Streetprices.com to find a great deal on a Nikon5700 - DigitalLiquidators. Ordering went smoothly. Took credit card online, sent confirmations, perfect. I've been through this dozens of time (although not for cameras from NY shops).
Day 2 - received an email that confirmation of purchase needed. Wow, what a heads up company (Me thinks). Not so - Salesman asked if that was all I wanted? Did I not want to spring for a $500 Compact Flash card, or extra warranty (it would be after all a grey market camera), or case. I said no and was assured camera was in stock and would ship that day. I emailed customer service for a UPS tracking number. Never received a reply. This was the start of my concerns.
Day 3 - called to get UPS tracking number - Camera had not shipped yet!!? What happened to yesterday shipping date stated by other salesman? DL: Don't know. When would it ship? DL snobby "sometime this week or next" bye (click)... Later - called credit card company and advised them that I thought I was being duped by DL after reading similar reports on resellerratings.com. Put an advisory that I would not pay and was cancelling order. Sent an email to cancel order(assured reply in 24 hours - what a crock).
Day 4 - Called DL customer service and cancelled order. No problem, took 20 seconds, very courteous customer service rep - no questions asked (probably because they were never intending to ship in the first place).
This reminds me of the old days, trying to order cameras from the back of Photographic magazine - great prices but never in stock. What is it about swindlers / bait and switch and cameras? Are photographers that gullible? How do all these buttheads end up in NY? Is there a trend here? Too many NY people with no sense of decency, earning a living by bilking people?
I can hear DL's (illegitimate) kids asking, What do you do dad? I work at Digitalliquidators and steal from people all day.
Why don't they just be up front and say that you can have this camera at this price if you purchase an additional $250 of junk accessories for $1000. They Might even throw in some stock options while they're at it.
Bottom line: DON'T DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE FRAUDS AND THIEVES.
>Thanks to this website for helping me get out early and not waste more of my time and money!"
"Great place to find cheap Cameras. Purchased a dimage 7xi and some memory at a fair price. Good bye googlegear, hello bway
"
"Purchased a Nikon D100 camera and told was not a grey market and came with a US warranty. Sent it in for a free firmware upgrade, and guess what, it's a non-us camera and Nikon won't touch it. Called the vendor and they said they could do it, ok...let me send you my $1600 camera so you can have some hack try an upgrade they have no clue about. Spare yourself the grief and buy from a different vendor!"
