"I would strongly suggest not doing business with this company. I recently ordered a Canon camera from Butterfly Photo because their price was somewhat cheaper than most other stores at the time. Bad idea.
First of all, a Butterfly Photo representative called my home a couple of days after I had placed my order online. The rep claimed he was calling just to verify my shipping information but then proceeded to try to sell me overpriced accessories that I didn’t need. And apparently he didn’t do a very good job of “verifying” my shipping information, because the camera was not sent to the shipping address I specified, which ultimately meant that I had to go to the FedEx office and wait for an hour for the truck to come in with my package.
The camera was fine, but I had decided on a different model, so I sent it back. Butterfly Photo emailed me a few days later to tell me that they had received the returned camera and would credit my MasterCard within 14 business days. 15 business days later, the credit still had not appeared on my account, so I called Butterfly Photo to ask why. The phone rep rudely told me I would receive a credit the next day. Didn’t happen. A week later it still wasn’t there, so I called again. Again I spoke with a rude phone rep who said the credit would appear the next day. Nope, didn’t happen.
Twenty-eight days after receiving the e-mail verifying my return had been received, I sent an e-mail to Butterfly Photo’s customer service, informing them that they legally had to credit my account before 30 days had passed. If not, I would be taking it up with my credit card company and the Better Business Bureau. I got no reply and no apology, but I did receive my credit—30 DAYS AFTER THEY HAD GOTTEN THE CAMERA BACK!!!
Save yourself the hassle, and don’t do business with this company."
