"STAY AWAY FROM BUY.COM.
I placed a Buy.com order for a NEW Palm Centro GSM mobile / cell phone on 06/20/2011 through its marketplace seller, 1SaleADay.com. I paid $54.36 for this item using my VISA credit card. On 06/27/2011 I received a USED Palm Centro CDMA cell phone from Buy.com / 1SaleADay.com - this product was totally useless to me.
I spent two frustrating days discussing the matter with the Buy.com service department before Buy.com finally emailed me an RMA form to return the merchandise. I was promised a refund upon successful return of the merchandise. On 06/29/2011 I returned the product to 1SaleADay.com via UPS. The product was received by 1SaleADay.com on 07/01/2011 - this was confirmed by UPS tracking. No one at Buy.com or 1SaleADay.com ever contacted me again regarding this matter - nor did I receive a refund as promised.
On 07/09/2011 I contacted Buy.com again to request my refund - I have still not received it.
Buy.com has not acted properly with regard to the USA's standard for prompt refunds. I advise everyone to avoid doing business with this company."
"Stay away from this BUY.Com. when you pay for 2nd day dhipping you will recieve your package in 5 days. Absolutly unexceptable for a company to operate like this. i might as well could of shipped it ground and save me 30 dallors."

Their return policy is total BS and they don't advertise that if you receive a defective item, they will not return your money, forcing you to get a replacement product only. "I tried to order some DVDs using Paypal, and they cancelled my order because my Paypal account wasn't "verified". Never had that problem with any other merchant. I even bought a plane ticket from JetBlue and they didn't have a problem with my account. When I contacted customer support, their response made it clear they only skimmed my complaint. "I ordered a Wii Fun N' Fit Balance Board Bundle from Buy.com on 6/22 using the standard Free Shipping and received it on 6/23 - The Very Next Day. It was packaged fairly well, with a decent amount of the brown packing paper.
The brown Wii Bundle carton was clean, completely undamaged, and the Bundle was a great deal at under 30 bucks.
I've always had good success with Buy.com, and hopefully that pattern will continue."
"I have been shopping at Buy.com for many years and I've only had positive experiences with this merchant. Buy.com is my first choice for electronic purchases and for purchases of anything relating to computers; hardware, software, peripherals, accessories and printers. When I'm looking for an item, I automatically pull up buy.com. If they don't have it, then I do an all out search. Prices at Buy.com are very reasonable, delivery is fast, shipping is usually free and customer service is great. What more can you ask for from a merchant! Hats off to Buy.com"
"This is an Amazon.com wannabe company, but they'll never be! Their customer service is lousy!
I rec'd the wrong product from one of their merchants and the merchant wouldn't return my calls or email, and buy.com would do nothing except contact them for me. After a few weeks of calls they would only mediate on my behalf and not refund any money directly.
I had a similar problems with a merchant on Amazon, but Amazon promptly refunded my money and took care of collecting from the dead-beat merchant. No hassles!"
"I ordered an SSD on Tuesday of last week and paid $8.99 for 2-day shipping. It has now been a week and has been held up multiple times (first due to "address verification," which I was not notified of until after they had taken 2 days to do it) and now is lost by UPS. Buy.com refuses to send a replacement until UPS discovers whether they've found the package or not.
In the meantime, I'm waiting for the last part I need to have my wife's new computer finished. Her laptop is broken and she needs a computer for her entire online degree program. We are sharing mine despite the fact that I am also a full-time student and we are close to finals. Buy.com has the gall to call a 6-7-day delay (by the earliest time it can arrive) an "inconvenience."
Every item I ordered from Amazon arrived within 2 days (with Amazon Prime) or 1 day (for $3.99 extra). It's sad that Buy.com charges more than 2x ($8.99) for 2-day shipping what Amazon does for 1-day shipping ($3.99) and still can't have things delivered on time. When UPS has lost items that I've bought from Amazon, they have dealt with the claim on their own end and overnighted me replacements free-of-charge.
I will never buy from buy.com again."

"I use buy.com first for many of my purchases for the companies I represent.
The items ordered often ship faster than expected and have always arrived as expected.
I have never had to return an erroneus shipment.
Often I have been able to save a considerable amount compared to other online vendors.
One caveat about shipping, often include a postal shipping address as some vendors through buy.com will use the postal service instead of UPS or Fed Ex. In my area this is essential as we do not have street delivery of mail. So, we have a shipping and a postal address. It is important to include both in the address lines provided.
Before I learned this and I had to correct the shipping address as soon as I learned it was being shipped through the postal service, I have been able to contact vendors directly and get teh address corrected."
"I have been a customer at buy.com for several years now. They constantly come up with great deals, especially on electronics. I don't recall ever having problem with a delivery, a return or any other issue that customer service did not respond to and straighten out immediately. They are one of the few merchant sites I allow to send me sales notices because I'm always on the lookout for good bargains on quality merchandise. And they deliver!"

"I purchased a laptop from them recently on a Friday. They put a hold on my CC for the amount, then charged me separately on Monday and shipped the laptop. I had the laptop the next day, which was great. BUT: both charges existed on my CC. A Hold "holds" its amount against your credit -- so when the Monday payment was put on the card, they had been paid, but were still holding a SECOND cost of the laptop. I called them on Tuesday -- was told it would be taken off and they'd call me on Wed. Wed: no phone calls. Called them that night, told they'd do it and that they'd call me Thurs. Thurs: no phone calls. Throughout, I called AmEx, and followed their advice. On Thursday, I called and went back and forth with them, again promised and on Friday, once more, no calls from them, and the hold remained. This time I sat on hold while they supposedly removed the hold (again). I told the Buy.com rep that i would wait the "up to 2 business days" for the hold to disappear and that, at this point, given the incredibly poor service so far and the repeated and unfulfilled promises to call me back, if the hold did not go away, they would be speaking to my attorney going forward.
The next day, on the weekend, the hold vanished.
This is Buy.com's customer service: repeated promises to call back, none of which were ever fulfilled. Taking my money and holding an equal and separate amount -- effectively double-charging me.
At no point did anyone at Buy.com even act like it mattered, that they had been paid and were still tying up my credit.
Do not do business with these unethical, lying jerks."
