"buy.com is linked to our 'Company Perk's' website so automatically I TRUSTed this site. Big mistake! I'm a part-time student and wanted to buy the student/teacher edition of Adobe Photoshop CS6 but since it's not yet available, you have to buy the last version of it first and get a free upgrade to CS6 which is due for release soon. I ordered the CS5 thinking it would be cheaper ($193) to buy from them than from Amazon which would cost me $249.00 (CS6). I later realized that buy.com charged me $279.00 because the version that would qualify for the upgrade is the CS 5.5! BAIT AND SWITCH!!!!!!! I went back to their website and sure enough there was a fine print that says CS5.5 qualifies for the free upgrade. I searched for the 5.5 version but couldn't find it which goes to show that there was really a malicious intention of misleading you into thinking that you're saving money by going the free upgrade route. The company I'm working with must have overlooked buy.com's very low bad ratings (1 star)."
"I purchased a MacBookAir from buy.com a little over a week ago. I constantly checked my email to see when it would ship, as i need this for school and work. A couple days ago Tasha Eastman from buy.com emailed me requesting me to fill out an address verification form which needed to included a copy of my drivers license and credit card. I was hesitant at first, but after confirming that it was legit, i faxed it over. Now, they are saying she never received it, so i faxed it over again and still nothing!! I called a number of times requesting to speak with her. However, all i received was an email from her stating she never received the fax. I emailed her telling her how unprofessional she was an no response back. I dont know what the lazy woman is doing with my information, but i plan on finding out. I ended up getting this resolved, but it took me SCREAMING at a customer service rep to get through to anyone of any type of authority. I spoke with someone who was able to release my order. I am so irate and plan on contacting Ms. Eastmans superiors because this is absolutely ridiculous. Because of the fact this woman cannot do her job, an irate customer screamed at a service rep and lost a bunch of business. DO NOT SHOP AT BUY.COM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"Bought an Olympus PEN E-PL1 Micro 4/3 digital camera from them. It was fulfilled by "Cameta Camera". They accepted payment via PayPal and took a little while to respond via e-mail (few hours). Shipped in about 1 day, and took 5 business days (as advertised) to arrive via FedEx ground. Shipping was free and the price was almost too good to be true.
I called in to Customer Service once before ordering and they were moderately helpful. I don't expect much when calling in in the first place though.
Would check them again when comparing prices and ordering. Generally had no problems with Buy.com."

Latest experience - Placed order for Samsung UN60D8000 @ $2599 (cheapest price on the day anywhere) on Thursday evening. Immediate email notification on confirming the order. Friday credit card charged and shipment made. Prompt notification. Saturday TV at the local sort facility. Scheduled delivery for TV. Delivery happened on time I requested, in the house, in first floor at the place I wanted by a very courteous delivery man.
Though I paid for normal shipment, overall experience seemed to be expedited.
Just loved the shopping for a high end item at Buy.com

"I bought a Wacom graphics tablet from the Canadian version of buy.com (ca.buy.com) and was extremely satisfied. I did read the negative reviews on here beforehand and honestly was expecting poor service, but the service I received exceeded my best expectations. The item cost much less than in a store ($170 on Buy.com opposed to $240 in BestBuy), they shipped the very next day, and even though I chose the 'Free' shipping option, which supposedly takes over 5 days to ship according to their website, the product came to my house in only 2 days! I've had my Wacom Bamboo Create tablet for 3 weeks now and it works perfectly. Excellent service, buy.com! Will definitely buy again."
"I have bought a pull string Pinata 17 days ago!!!!! Haven't received my order yet. It was supposed to ship from the seller (ShopDollarD) 5 to 14 days, but it said it would usually ship in 5 days. "Purchased a Ducane Affinity 4100 gas grill. The price was competitive with other retailers. While assembling the grill on Sunday, April 1st found an 1 1/2 gash in the metal lid. Immediately took pictures and sent to Buy.com. Found that one of the side tables and the top of the metal lid had small dents as well. The response I got from Buy.com was to accept a $20 refund and keep the grill or disassemble it, put all of the parts back in the boxes, try to get all of the boxes to fit back in the carton and ship it back (if they allowed me to - I would have to get a return merchandise authorization number). What a joke! There is no way I could remember what parts went in which boxes let alone get all the boxes to fit back into the carton. I emailed back that attempting to return the grill was not an option. I found a replacement grill lid assembly and am having to pay $100 for it plus shipping from another source. I indicated that I wanted the $20 back and have yet to hear back from Buy.com.
I'm can't help but wonder if they buy defective merchandise from the manufacturer and sell it? The carton the grill came in wasn't damaged so the grill had to be defective prior to going in the carton. I will never buy from Buy.com again. As one of the other consumers wrote, I'll stick to Amazon or other vendors I know."

I had to threaten to contact the BBB and the federal trade commission that regulates internet fraud in order to get them to refund my money.

"Terrible service. Their seller BeachAudio advertised a 32GB flash card but sent me 16GB and said it was their cataloging error. I's been 2 weeks and I still don't have a refund from Buy.com. They said the refund was processed several days ago, but there was some processing error and it will take them additional 3-5 days to figure this out. I have not changed any banking/credit/PP info and there's no reason for an error unless Buy.com makes one. Funny that they have no problems collecting payments.
This is not even the first time. Previous to that I ordered a Whirlpool clothes dryer. It was supposed to be brand new. It came re-packed, beat-up and bent-up as hell, and it wasn't even the correct model, but a much cheaper model. Again, it took about 3 weeks to get my money back.

"Since most people complain on these things I want to share my positive experience. I bought a refurbished product, which turned out to not include a normally included cable, so they refunded me $20 for that right away when I called. Then when I decided not to keep the product, they gave me a pre-paid shipping label which I was not charged for, and my full refund was processed within a day of their receipt of my return. Whole return/refund process took less than a week from my initiating it."
"Never even processed my order. Even though it was paid in full with expedited shipping. I had a Best Buy rep on the phone with a Buy.com rep. The Best Buy rep said "yes he has paid for the order and notification was sent to buy.com". The buy.com rep then repeatedly stated that Best Buy rep mispoke and they never really sent the order. They had my money, wasn't that proof enough? And don't even think about speaking with one of their so called "specialists." I really don't understand how companies like this exist. Best Buy will lose my business through affiliation."
