"Horrible customer service. Linda Mahon refused to return multiple emails I sent regarding an order that never arrived. Will not ever order from CDW again."
"This is only my recent experience. I decided to ordered a product as described online due to low price. I then get an e-mail with a different product. I called and chatted online after I could not contact my rep about this discrepancy. Another rep did say that CDW listed info that manufacturers supply them, but is there no quality control? I think it's bait and switch and they don't care if consumers are misled! Also, my shipping suddenly got more expensive at the final confirmation page for no reason. The service was good, after talking to 2 reps. Bottom-line is, I cannot recommend an online retailer that does not value accuracy. Even after I informed the of such a blatant error, no one seemed concerned! CDW.com seemed like a reputable retailer at first, but I won't be purchasing anything in the future. Luckily, I caught the error before having to go through the nightmare of returning/reversing charges, etc. "
"The only thing I order from CDW are rolls of paper for our large-format printer. The price is average, but the shipping seems rather high--$27.50 for 2-5 day shipping (there's no cheaper option), and ordering two rolls at once does not save any money. Why do I still order from CDW, when other online vendors sell it for a similar price with free shipping? Unfortunately, I made the mistake of ordering from an Amazon vendor once and the paper roll arrived damaged, but the customer service was terrible and we just had to make do. My orders from CDW always arrive in pristine condition. Plus the customer service is quite nice--I once called and asked if there were any coupons or discounts available, and our account manager Erica lowered the price for me."
"My order got cancelled twice, with the most recent one happened yesterday, even though the page showed the item was in stock.
To make it even worse, their people contacted me and said that there was security issue for me. The claimed that since I do not have landline phone (I have two cell phones) and my IP address was not in the same state shown in the address (not sure, could be due to vpn), they disabled my account.
I feel that the company is certainly not a scam, but its customer service is kind of lousy."
"Terrible. Ordered a laptop they advertised. Order went through. Confirmation email sent that day and completion email sent as well. Waited 3 days and never got shipping info. Checked site and my order was cancelled without notifying me. Contacted customer support and they said "Your order was canceled because that item is not available for sale. CDW had posted that item on our website in error." Won't be shopping here again. Good thing I checked my account, otherwise that Christmas present would be missing under the tree.

"I ordered an IBM (Lenovo) Thinkpad T500 through their site. The order was canceled as the "deal was too good and was only for their high volume clients" (nice to be told your order doesn't count, huh?)
OK, no sweat, mistakes happen. So while I'm calling in to ensure I don't get charged and that the old deal is in fact canceled, I see another good deal (or so I thought). After transferring me to a "product specialist" I asked advised him that the only thing that bothered me about the laptop was that Lenovo lists that laptop as not having discrete graphics, and CDW's site trumpets the discrete graphics. Feel free to look up Lenovo part# 4403-69U, if curious. He says "well, they're the experts, someone must have entered it wrong on our site...". So your site is wrong once again and you don't seem shocked. You couldn't even feign surprise and promise to correct the site?
So yeah, wonderful company.
If you're making a billion dollar order, they might bother with you, if not, forget about ordering from these guys, they have no desire to deal with consumers directly, only huge businesses. CDW: Just put up a disclaimer "If you're not ordering 10,000 units, we don't want to talk to you." See? Not hard..."
"CDW has great pricing and fast shipping. They have been quick to issue an RMA when requested."
"First of all, let me say that CDW used to be a great company. I did business with them for years. But things have changed. I purchased an HP business desktop from CDW and asked them to install an additional graphics card. At the same time, I bought an HP service contract from CDW for next day on-site support. I asked if it covered everything in the computer, and the sales rep said it covered all of the hardware. Last week, the graphics card they installed burned out, and the HP tech arrived today to replace it. But when he saw the burned out card, he refused to replace it because CDW had installed a non-HP card. You see, HP service contracts only cover HP components. So now I have to pay $100 to replace the card, plus at least another $100 for a tech to install it and reconfigure the computer. If I had ordered the computer directly from HP, the card would have been covered. I contacted CDW, and they said I didn’t have any proof that the salesperson had told me all of the hardware was covered. And since I didn’t receive the written HP service contract until after I’d been using the computer, there wouldn’t have been anything I could have done even if I’d read the fine print. I can’t fault HP, because that’s there policy, and CDW admits they are aware of it. Moral of this story: don’t buy anything from CDW if you can buy it directly from the manufacturer. And if a CDW salesperson promises you something, get it in writing. "
"I ordered a HP Xeon server and some memory for it for the office on 05/03. It was carefully packaged and I received a PDF invoice the same day. A couple of days later it arrived without any problems. I have no complaints about doing business with CDW; the experience was a very good one. The shipping was fast and the prices were competitive."
"Placed a small order. Received order acknowledgment showing order number. Immediately afterwards did research about the company and concluded I should not be doing business with them.
Called the 800 number to cancel order. Hurriedly representative's attitude and tone of voice confirmes the negative reviews I had read about the company.
He was unable to locate order. Uncooperative about a solution. Pressured him to make suggestion. He told me to call back.
Thirty minutes later I called back. This time an exceptionally courteous lady representative locate and canceled order immediately. Politely inquired for the reason I was making this request. Her exceptional manners made me want to reconsider, however, multiple poor reviews from independent sources convinced me to proceed with the cancellation.
I also requested that my account be closed. Complimented her for the professionalism shown.
Immediately afterward I went to my credit card website and deactivated the one-use card number given for this purchase. Fortunately, transaction had not been initiated yet.
If you MUST do business with an unfamiliar company, for real peace of mind I would recommend that you obtain a credit card from an issuer that provides with temporary, one-use numbers. Thus have full control of the $$ limit and expiration date for a specific transaction. All charges will appear on your permanent account statement.
Several credit card companies offer this invaluable service. Yours could be one of them and you may not be aware about it.
Such temporary numbers can be created (or deactivated) in seconds once you are online connected to your account. The merchant never sees your permanent card number and can never charge you for more than the set dollar limit which you determine and control.

"Buyers Beware!
I ordered a camera, and after payment confirmation they refused to ship the order.
Someone called my home and accused me of not being a real buyer, and questioned my credit worthyness.
I seriously doubt they actually had the camera in stock, they just keep it on their web site to attract buyers."
"I ordered (and have always ordered) Lenovo desktop computers from them. They give our business special pricing and accept our Tax Exempt status. Never had problems with pricing, but I do most of my purchasing by emailing my Rep. The few times that I ordered the wrong items, they took it back with no problem and just a small restocking fee."
"Ordered 4 HP workstations. They arrived quickly and just as expected. I have purchased from CDW for my company before and have never had any issues."
"Laptop purchase: near-nightmare. The credit department took several rounds of email and phone back and forth to approve shipping and billing where more than one address was involved. We recently moved, and this seemed to take more than a day for the credit department to understand; further, our first sales/customer service rep never contacted us to say there was a problem, until we called to find out why the order had not shipped. The people we spoke to were mostly friendly, but I would characterize the experience as a hassle. That's about half a working day of phone and email wrangling that I won't get back. Thanks, CDW.
I would like to point out that there were several kind and helpful people who we talked to at CDW, yet despite what seemed to be their best intentions, the byzantine credit department and lack of feedback/communication made the experience really terrible.
After all that, the laptop arrived broken, with a volume up key that believed it was constantly being pressed. Laptop returned, RMA processed, lesson learned.
Next time, I'll buy somewhere else."
"As with others, I ordered a Nikon lens for $289, thinking it was a sale from the going online price of $400 or so at the time. I was called twice to confirm my address, and even had to send a copy of my driver's license. After about a week, the order shipped.
When I received the lens, it included an invoice for $658, over double what I had agreed to pay. CDW would not adjust the price, and only requested that I send the lens back. As I needed the lens for my work, I have since filed a dispute with my credit card company.
I will be telling every client in my IT business to avoid CDW like the plague from now on. They are crooks, plain and simple."
