" Don't buy from them...I've ordered a pair of Corsair memory ram since June 15th and I've never received anything on July 1st.So I decided to cancel my order since I've got the Memory to another reseller. Now,it's been over a month,I ask to be refund on my credit card and they're holding(stealing) my money. They're always said that it was their mistake, they'll adjust it soon...Yesterday,they told me that the package has been sent after the order cancellation.I've never received anything.I've also check for any delivery confirmation and it doesn't exist.Up to date,I've lost $400.00 bucks. It's a shame that Corsair Memory recommends them as online retailer for their products...
Stay away from them if you don't want to lose your time and MONEY.I'd rather recommends Tigerdirect or Ncix for a real better customer service."
"My advice is to stay away from this store altogether. My son was building a new gaming machine and as this store did not accept paypal [which is all I use] my son went to his friends father and had him place the order using his credit card. The online order form would not accept the credit card, it kept coming up with an error and so they cancelled the order and went elsewhere and had the parts within a week. This order was close to $1600.00. Now this man is being hounded constantly to pay for an order that he cancelled and never received. They dinged his credit card and he now has interest to pay on top of this. What I do not understand is how can they charge someones credit card for items they did not send out? From what I understand they should not be charging anything untill it is shipped. I highly recommend Nxxx for computer supplies, they have great prices and excellent customer service. I just built myself a new PC and received a damaged motherboard, RMA'd it and received another one within three days. "
"Fast shipping. Will buy from retailer again. They don't have the biggest selection of items, but they have good prices."
"I have ordered several Items from Can Comp and am building an amd 4.2 x2 64bit system from the ground up. The only part purchased elsewhere was the cpu. So far the antec vento case, Antec TPII 550w PCI-E ps, DFI UT NF4 SLI DR MB, Kingwin 3000 Water Cooler, and everything else I have ordered has arrived to me here in NB in 2 days, the service has been beyond excellent and they went out of their way to put the black vento on the website in 24hours just so I could buy it. Maybe I am getting good treatment for buying good product... I dunno, my rating for them so far is 10 out of 10 for everything and will continue to purchase from them until circumstances dictate otherwise. Over 2000 in parts so far and going strong. Keep up the good work."
"Absolutly horrible service.
Placed my order for a new HD and drive enclosure on the 27th of june, both items were showing in stock at time of order, both show up on my order confirmation as in stock. 5 days go by with no word or delivery. Call to find out whats up. Am told that itmes are not instock, they are on back order, but because of the high turnaround(shippments everyday) that they are shown instock because they expect them to arrive an an almost daily basis. 5 more days go by, call again itme are still not in stock, told late next week at the earliest??? wait a minute... all their walk in locations have them in stock, I even called every retail location to ask... so why cant i get my Hard drive?. Cancled order, waiting for the refund, then i will drive the 2 hours to the store and pick up my drive.
I have been a cutomer of CC for a long time, but now that i live out in the middle of nowhere i cant always get there, so when they launched their mailorder service I was excited, they have a huge selection and very good prices.
However their online service is pathetic, no e-amils were sent to me updateing me on my items and i can only assume that if i had left this unchecked and my items were on back order for months I would never have been informed. :("
"Canada Computers is the most competitively priced computer store that I have found in Mississauga. However, they have horrible customer service, policies, and practises.
My only perfect experience with Canada Computers has been from buying a Soundblaster Audigy sound card and Logitech X-230 speakers. Now, onto my horrible experiences in a chronological order:
1. I bought a Radeon 9550. Problems everywhere. Black screen on start-up. The packaging/product had evident signs of it being re-sealed, yet it was resold as new. I tried to exchange/refund, but they refused to without a 15% charge since they said it had a chip on it, WHICH WAS ALREADY ON THE CARD. Anyways, 15% charge later, I returned it.
2. Couple of months later, tried them again by buying what I thought was a Radeon 9600 Pro. The salesman and product list they post in their store listed the product as a Radeon 9600 Pro. I installed it and it was working fine. However, I noticed that the performance was sub-par of a Radeno 9600 Pro. Finally, I checked the model number on the box with the model number for a 9600 Pro on the manufacturer's website and I realized that they actually sold me a Radeon 9600 Pro EZ Edition, which is actually an under-clocked, slower version of what I wanted! Wanted a refund, but no dice again. I am stuck with this thing now.
3. Bought a motherboard. Had signs of opened packaging. Installed and wouldn't POST. Had to go through hell in order to get an exchange. Finally got my exchange 3 days of frustration later and I got it to work.
Buying from Canada Computers is a real lottery. The only reason to buy from them is the price, but if you take into account of the time you waste and the 15% charge to refund their large amount of faulty products, it would more worthwhile to buy from a respectable, but more expensive store.
Also, a note, their customer service is horrible at the store in Mavis Mall in Mississauga. They are rude and will go out of their way to lie to you about how a computer works in order for you to keep a faulty product. Be warned.
One last point is that I personally witnessed one of their salesman put a video card which I returned right back for re-sale after he checked for missing parts. He did this even though I had claimed that the video card was faulty."
"Bought some parts from this store...one of several transactions i've done with them. Installed the motherboard and it wouldn't post. Took the system in to them to get the motherboard replaced and they said they wouldn't do it. Argued with them for awhile since i just bought the stuff 6 days ago and it doesn't work. Now i'm stuck with having to buy another motherboard...
Don't shop here! If you buy a part and it doesn't work - tough luck for you is what they basically say. Will NEVER buy a single item from them again!"
"Not very happy! Waited over 1.5 months with no results...just excuses. I'm sure this outfit is OK on the retail front, but beware on mail-order! Pricing is very good but in-stocks poor. Ability to get required goods poor. Sorry, but the truth must be told!"
"I have given a lot of business to Canada Computers in the last 2 years, despite their abhorrent customer serivce, or lack thereof. I subject myself to the insults and substandard treatment of their unprofessionalism for one simple reason: price. The torrent of rumours about repackaged merchandise you read about here, and else where are true. A 19" LCD I bought had finger prints everywhere on the screen, and the box was suspect as a second layer of tape had been used to conceal the evidence; likewise, a 5.1 speaker set (z680) were repackaged; I decided to keep both items upon careful inspection and to find no cosmetic or functional defects. That does not excuse them for selling opened items as new!
Be aware of this fact when purchasing from Canada Computers and their 7 day NO REFUND policy; Other than that, their prices are quite unbeatable; just have to get use to being treated like a person with a contageous disease.
Read my commentary on Filtechcomuter.com for an alternative."
"Wow! I'm the guy from the previous post. I went to their MARKHAM store and WHAT A DIFFERENCE in service. They were friendly, helpful, and fast even though it was in the middle of Sunday Shopping-fest. Forget the downtown store, take the trip to the Markham Pacific Mall location if you want to get in and out fast with friendly service.
The guys at the College Street store are total jerks."
"I purchased what was supposed to be a New product.
Aeroflow CPU cooler model VA4-C7040. When I opened the box I found the product was used. The area to touch the cpu was marked or scuffed in the shape of a cpu. When I tried it the fan wouldn't start on it's own, obviously why it was returned in the first place. They would not ship me a new one, saying I missed the 7 day exchange period."
"Canada Computers is the best computer store in the GTA. The prices are beyond low, and selection is vast and always expanding. My last purchase from them was a Sapphire 9700 Pro Retail box for $269 Canadian! Thats $205 US dollars! Its true they do lack a lot of OC specific products... they don't have many thermal interface compounds or crazy fan systems. But thats ok, thats not who they are. They are a computer store first and foremost and they do a fantastic job!. I've returned 2 faulty motherboards there and I was never questioned or given a hard time. I recommend Canada Computers to anyone who wants quality products at kick ass prices."
" If you make your purchase from these guys because of their low prices, you better be sure the product is not faulty in ANY WAY.
I just had my worst retail experience EVER, thanks to Canada Computer.
I bought a monitor from their Markham location with no help from an arrogant, visibly irritated employee, only to find out at home that it was defective. The geometry of the display was unbearably skewed and unbalanced, and all the world's pincushion adjustments could do it no good.
So I took it to their warehouse location expecting an exchange of some sort. The people at the main office didn't know how to deal with my issue, so they sent me around to the back door. (There I got a glimpse of their storage space and man, what a pig sty.) The guys at the back office didn't know what to do with me either so they suggested I go try their front office. I patiently explained that they're the ones that sent me around the back in the first place.
After a bit of a tiffle, they agreed to give the monitor a look. They didn't even ASK what my issues with it was, and refused to listen when I attempted to tell them.
Not surprisingly, a guy game out to tell me that the monitor had no problems and all; all it needed were some pincushion adjustments. I demanded that I see the result of their handi-work before I took it back home. (A reasonable request - carrying a monitor up and down a condo is no easy task.) He, however, told me I could not do that, since customers could not be let in through their back office. After some persistence on my part he agreed to let me see the screen at the front office.
I must emphasize at this point their utter lack of equipment/expertise when examining products. In order to show me the monitor display, they actually had to unplug one of their own office monitors. When they turned on the screen and said 'see? nothing wrong', all I saw was a blue WindowsXP backdrop. Pardon me, but it IS a little difficult to perceive display issues at all with a plain blue backdrop.
Once they brought up some monitor examining grids (at my insistence), the defect was clearly visible. Yet even then they refused to give me a with-in-7-day refund without charging me a 15% restocking fee. They even tried to avoid giving me a refund at all, telling me there was a scratch on the monitor. (It was clearly only sticker residue.) Ridiculous!
After 2 hours of arguing, finally the guy agreed to let me look at another monitor of the same model for comparison. I did, and the latter was much better, and said I'd like to take the better monitor home. This is when, as if he'd found the perfect solution, he declared that the monitor I brought back was missing a sticker. A STICKER!
All in all, an attempt at saving a few measly bucks turned into a giant retail nightmare. This company does not understand at all the meaning of the word 'service'. And 'after-service'? You can kiss that one good bye.
I will NEVER EVER be buying from Canada Computer again. Good riddance.

"Ordered a couple of led fans, fan grill, audio cable and floppy cable. Prices are best i've seen, and the selection was good. also rocks that you can pay by COD. only downside was the length it took for shipping, but then again shipping cost less here than anywhere else."
"Was looking for a replacement motherboard for a dead one. Needed to be cheap, and not some crap like ECS. Saw the MSI K7 Master in the clearance section and I was sold. Wasn't to impressed at the amount of time it took to ship out to me. It did finally come though, and in good condition. Overall satisfied, lets hope I don't have to deal with their customer service though. "
