Because of the large dollar amount of a first order, I understand extra verification efforts--I would do the same. However, everything about the order said rush, hurry, ship today.

So...how did Canoga contact me to request that I verify with my credit card company? By phone? No...by email. Only by luck did I get it in time. Ordinarily I would not have in time.

This is a small complaint, all things considered, but in this instance it would have been a big problem for me, since a day late might was well have been two weeks--and not worth $175 in shipping."

"After reading the reviews on this site, I decided to order a Canon 20d and lenses from CanogaCamera. I'm happy I did. I ordered Monday night and paid a little extra for 3-day ground so I would have it to use for the upcoming weekend. My bank held up processing a day. I called Conaga to verify order was finally being processed (they were extremely polite and patient) and commented about missing the weekend. The well packaged camera (the boxes received damage during shipment but camera and lenses were safe) arrived Friday - I noticed the shipping order had changed to 2-day air at no cost to me! "Order shipped the same day. Their prices are good, fair shipping rates, and they don't pull any of that call you to upsell, crud. The rep threw in a lens cloth, though it leaves too much lint. The site is old, and is in dire need of an overhaul but other than that this is a reputable, reliable company. This is my 2nd order with them, but it won't be my last."

"After missing a bid offering on eBay for a Nikon D70 package from Canoga Camera, I decided to call them direct asking if I could get the same package over the phone. Greg told me I could and quoted a fair price. I also wanted two lens filters. They were out of one of them. Greg said he would upgrade the missing filter at no additional cost. I asked if I should upgrade the other filter to match. He said don't spend the extra money. Upon receiving the order, I found two upgraded filters at no additional cost and a lens cleaning cloth thrown in as well. I'm a very happy camper!!!"

"Called to order a Nikon D2h. There were out, and Chris said to order over the internet, and since it was shown to be in the warehouse, it would probably be shipped the next day. Called the next day, and it was shipped. Gregg called and asked to verify the credit card information since I was a first time customer. Given the tracking number by E mail, and it was delivered on Friday. Would highly reccommend them for service and also a good price.

"Everything about this place is A-1 in my book! I started by asking some questions via email. I received prompt replies from Greg. When I was ready to order, I talked to the same Greg and received prompt and courteous service. That was late in the morning one day. Since I was shipping to work, they asked that I verify address with my cc co. That same day my order was shipped and I received it on Monday (I would have had it Saturday, but I shipped it to work. Rats!). Everything was packed securely and was definitely brand new (no repacked demos or anything like that here!). So far everything I ordered is working great, so I can't comment on returns or exchanges, but nothing in my experience would lead me to believe that I wouldn't get the same great service.

Finally, two of the products had rebates and both forms were packed with my order. I didn't have to worry about that like I've heard about some other places. Way to go!"
