"Book came immediately as promised and I actually needed it for a week longer than first anticipated and was no problem. I filled out the extention form. couldn't have asked for a better experience. Save a few hundred dollars. I will definitely be using Chegg again. Thanks"
"I like chegg cheap prices for the books i need."
"Chegg has been a lifesaver and truly a better way to relieve headaches and frustrations with some of my homework. They might not have all the answers and the answers might not all be right but they gave me some hints and clues. Thanks chegg!"
"Terrible company! They are very unwilling to work with loyal customers and have poor customer support. Beware!!"
"Bad. I was charged an "extension fee" of $25.00 even though I returned my books within the rental period. Verified by postage date."
"Excellent customer service on providing extensions to return books."
"Chegg isn't perfect, no company is, but they really try to make everything right and their customer service chats are very friendly and helpful. I've been having issues with a book buyback. While it's a bit frustrating, their customer service has been great. I tried calling and was on hold for almost 15 min before I gave up and tried the chat which I've used before, it can have a wait, but they give you a estimated wait time. Another time I wanted to rent books for a summer class and the due date was a few days before my final. I did a chat with customer service and they happily extended the date at no charge to give me time to send the books back. This is the fourth semester I've used Chegg and will continue through my masters program.
The only reason I don't rate customer service as 5 stars is the long wait time to speak with a live person. Be patient, they go above and beyond to make sure everything is right and take care of mistakes."
"Chegg is awesome! Great for students on a budget and the environment--bonus!"
"Very satisfied with Chegg. Best prices and get my books fast. Books are always in great shape! Recommend them to all my fellow students."
"very happy with the customer service; knowledgeable helpful. able to find the titles quickly. hope i can rent again, my college is now making it almost impossible to retrieve title & ISBNs in the attempt to force students to purchase from their campus bookstore. hoping i can do something about that, not sure what the students need matters to them."
"I was asked to write a review and here it is. I recieved the books I asked for, had ordered the wrong book, had to pay shipping fee to return and get the right book...didn't think was right...and was unable to get in touch with someone over the phone about books I returned...very agrivating."
"Not really impressed with the rental process. Returned books had to be postmarked by 12/21, so I returned them on 12/20. I even got an email confirming they were shipped out on time. So imagine my surprise when they attempted to charge me for an extension on all of my books.
Luckily the credit card had recently expired, so they didn't actually manage to charge me anything, but I still wrote in to their customer support to ask why they were trying to charge me when the books were returned. Their response was basically "Meh, it happens. Nothing we can do about it". Look at their reviews here, if you're okay with them charging you for overdue books (When they're not overdue) and hopefully maybe refunding you at some point, then awesome! Great! If you'd prefer to NOT be charged for stuff you don't actually owe them, maybe go with someone else. "
"Chegg has been very helpful and nice throughout the whole process of ordering my textbooks for my first semester in college."
"Very trying at times. Usually the best prices but a challenge to correct any error I may have made or Chegg may have made. Grateful that the challenge only happens at the beginning of the semester (usually) rather than at the end when I have a lot of anxiety and very little patience. Chegg still is showing that I owe them a book from last semester that we went round and round about. I still might end up loosing. Amazing what I will endure to save a few $$. "
"My previous post was not kept. So now it's not going to make sense to readers when my new post doesn't connect with the response from the company. This is a poor set up. It needs to get changed. Anyway, in order for it to make sense I will briefly state that Chegg offered free shipping in exchange for a course review. They ask for only one, but then sneak in your other courses, so I just reviewed both. Then I decided to look at the asterisk mark above shipping and read the fine print. I already ordered my books for the next semester and they haven't even com in the mail yet. I received the email inviting me to write a review sometime after 12/21/12, after I ordered my books. Here are the terms copied from them: Free shipping coupon expires 01/14/2013. Reviews must be completed by 01/03/2013 to receive free shipping coupon. Coupon will be delivered by email before: 01/07/2013. Free shipping coupon only valid on standard shipping for textbook rentals. As you can see by this, I would only have one week in which to buy books and they would have to be rentals. I do not need to buy anymore books since I already ordered mine. So the deal is useless to me. I complained to Chegg about this and while I was at it, I complained to the Better Business Bureau. I asked Chegg that they pay me my free shipping for my current order for my reviews, or they take my reviews off of their website. That's what that was all about. Now the new problem is that they said that they were crediting my visa ending in 1111. I wrote back telling them that it ended in 2222. That just turned out to be a "mistake". That is what prompted me to come back on here. They ask, How are we doing? So I wanted to tell people how they are doing. But while I'm at it I'm going to warn you about another thing that they did to me and it might happen to you. They assured me that this doesn't happen often. They charged my visa for extensions put on my returned books. No big deal to fix except that they and I drag the situation out and it makes it unpleasant. They drag it out with their "mistakes" I drag it out with my frustrations. This is because of being scammed before by other companies. It seems like you can't do an honest business anymore with companies. It seems to me that they are always looking for an angle that is to their benefit. That explains my natural reaction to these sorts of things. I hope that this is helpful to a reader. If this happens to you with any company, try to remain calm even though they are sucking up your time. Eventually, with practice, you will learn to lesson the time it takes by complaining higher up. They can't screw with you forever, eventually they will quit as things get resolve. That's been my experience and this advise will greatly help you out emotionally. Good Luck!"
