"They had the product I needed (hard to find) at a price I was happy with. they shipped immeadiatly and the product arrived right on time. No complaints at all. I would do business with them again!"
"These folks are either really sloppy in putting prices up on their web pages or they post low prices intentionally in order to switch you to a higher price. They are negligent at best and fraudulent at worst. They will not stand behind their prices and are most unresponsive.
Use them at your own risk; I would NEVER use them again!"
"All in all a good experience. Ordered Altec Lansing ATP3 speakers for $43.15 (+ &8.37 shipping) - a good price for these. Shipping was a little slow (item delivered 11 days after order) but had good email notifications w/ tracking info. Speakers arrived in great shape (appeared new). Based on this experience, would buy from Compuvest again."
"Worst online experience ever. They advertised a USB Modem on thier webpage and Yahoo shopping for $20+shipping. I order it. What I got was a PCI Modem. I called them, faxed them their advertisement, wrote to Yahoo, BBB etc ... but to no avail. They have refused to claim responsibility and want to charge me 15% restocking and dont want to pay for either shipping charges. They claim "a PCI modem is what I ordered and is what I got". Can anyone imagine paying $25 for a PCI modem when you can get it for free AR from Staples/OfficeMax!
Stay away from these guys ... they will insult you, lie to all authorities to save their a$$ and are a bunch of very unprofessional, rude and non-customer-oriented guys."
"This seller was the only one of the many I used to build my dream computer that didn't give me a headache. I wanted to build a computer equivilant to Alienware's top of the line Aurora, but build it myself so I would save about $1500. With the money I saved I decided to buy a good monitor. So i went with a black trinitron from Compuvest, who listed the lowest price on Froogle. I received it in a timely manner and the only problems i could find with it was it said it was new in retail package, and it appeared to be used not in a retail package...screen was a bit dirty and there's a ding or two on it...however, with that good of a price i didn't complain...they still get a thumbs up from me."
"Here is a case where you get what you pay for. Bought a Matrox Millineum G400 for $29.90! Great price BUT the CD was in FRENCH!!!!!!!! There was no indication on the web site that I would be required to be fluent in French to install this card!!!! I suspect this was in a batch of boards they got up in Montreal where Matrox is located OR it was used but you couldn't tell. None the less they shipped quickly and it worked - luckily Matrox has a great web site and I had another G400 in another machine that came with an English version CD so alls well that ends well."
"This merchant is unethical. I purchased 32 cameras with 96 128MB memory cards to go with the cameras. None of the memory cards worked in the cameras. When I returned the memory I was charged a restocking fee even though I bought all items together so they would work together."
"I ordered two Western Digital hard drives and they sent to white label Maxtors instead."
"simple easy website,low prices,good products,products work fine,shipping is fine,fast easy check out"
"Well... they sent me a REFURBISHED set of Altec Lansing speakers (clearly marked on box). Only problem is, I ordered a NEW set of speakers. Now, the speakers sound great, no problem there. The question is, should I insist that they take the speakers back?? I'm not sure yet. Just wanted to warn anyone out there, you may not get what you ordered.
Should have paid attention to the other negative posts. I got suckered by the relatively low price.
CAVEAT EMPTOR!"
"By far the worst experience with any company. Do not do business with them. This company operates under the most shadiest of business ethics and practices. My first purchase with them and I was ripped off twice. Received the wrong item and was refunded the incorrect amount. "
"I ordered a Visiontek Xtasy 64MB Radeon 9100 video card using Compuvest's website. The price was $46.00 + shipping, because it was a "white box" item, meaning that it doesn't come in the retail box, but elsewhere the same card IN a retail box was selling for $90 + shipping. I was nervous that "white box" could be secret code for counterfeit, stolen, returned, or defective merchandise.
Then, I noticed that there were Russian sounding names associated with Compuvest, and I became more nervous. Then I found RESELLERRATINGS.COM, read all of these bad reviews, and got REALLY nervous.
But I got a tracking number for the card with UPS, tracked the movement of the card, and I got the video card, (plus driver CD and installation sheet), extremely well packaged, in three business days.
I installed the card in my nephew's computer and it seems to work fine.
I wanted to get back to this website and add my comments, good or bad, to assist others in making a buying decision. But It's tough for people when I seemingly got a very good deal and product, but so many others here report bad experiences.

"I Purchased a DVD Drive Advertised as a SD-616F, but I recieved a sd-616B. I also Specifily asked when the letter designation was and they told me it was "F". I couldnt use the drive for what i needed it for for reasons of a different chipsed on the dvd drive. Now i have to RMA it and I have to pay for their Lies!"
"Beware of Compuvest.com
I feel that all of the interactions I had with Compuvest were some sort of scam from the beginning.
I ordered a 4 mm disk hard drive from Compuvest. What I received was not what I ordered. It was some sort of Seagate internal drive which I returned. Theay charged me a restocking charge even though they were at fault. When I received the correct item, it was falling apart in the box. When I opened the box the drive was flopping around loose inside of the drive case. There were small screws in the bottom of the plastic bag which it had been wrapped in and attached to these screws were tiny little labels which said ?if removed the warranty is void?. I knew at that moment that I was not dealing with a reputable company. Since we needed the drive, we tried to put the screws back in and hook it to the computer. The screws were too short to hold the drive in; however, we were able to get two screws to hold enough to plug it in and test it. The drive did not work. By this time I was mad. I called the company and left a voice mail message. I was unable to get anyone from the company to call me back this time but was able to get a return authorization number from their web site. I also sent them several e-mails requesting a shipping label to return the dead drive since it didn?t feel I should have to pay to return it. They refused to give me one. I incurred shipping cost to return the item even thought it was sent to me defective.
I would have been happy to have my account credited and to search elsewhere for the drive; but, a few days later I received the drive back again with a letter stating that they were unable to process the return since the warranty seals were removed. They did not try to contact me in any way when they received the drive they just sent it back. I can?t say that I was really surprised but I will say that I was very MAD. I called and left a message that I was very upset and wanted a call back immediately. To my utter dismay, when they called me back they told me that they would never send anything out like that and that I had tried to take the drive apart and destroyed it and then tried to return it for a refund. Not only did he argue with me but he also called me a liar. He said that it was my word against his and that he would not credit my account. I tried to tell him that anyone could see that the screws were to short to work with the drive case and that it was obvious that they were meant to fall out but he hung up on me. I have never dealt with a company like this in my life.
I made a claim with American Express which Compuvest disputed saying that I broke the drive. I am therefore left paying for a piece of junk.
If this is the way they always run their business, I feel that everyone needs to be made aware. "
"Bought a G-Force 3 TI200 card from these guys. Tracking was good. Paid $7.40 for shipping and it still took a week to get here (May 13 to 20). Packaging was good but the box was small. I opened the box up and it was used or oem, not NEW like I ordered. Remember, just because it is cheaper, doesn't mean it is better. "
