"This is a Pre-Review:
I bought a G50VT-X5-PB-2R -- ASUS G50Vt-X5 Core2Duo P7450 2.13GHz 4GB 320GB DVD±RW 15.4". Before I saw some reviews here.
I started this for my security.
I suppose to get my laptop tomorrow according to FedEx tracking no provided by geeks.com I made the purchase over eBay 549.00 shipping included. before I bought I asked a specific question. does this laptop comes with scratches or bad cosmetic condition? they said No the laptop comes like new. they didn't answer over eBay they just responded to my email address.(this is kinda weird because I asked over eBay) so I decided to buy it.
Then I started to check reviews about this company over internet and I found this website. ( I said DAMN! :/ ) people complaining about the same item that I just paid. I felt so scared and I asked them about these complains and a person called GREG said "Some people buy a refurbished laptop and expect new. While most factory refurbished laptops are perfectly fine some may have blemishes on them."
I just gonna finish my review tomorrow when i get it. I know about computers and I will check every single part.
Its kinda sad to see people saying this company is good and at least they do full refund. for people like me that likes games this is the best laptop out there and I don't mind to spend 300 hundreds more just to buy a new one.

"Tripp Lite SMART1500 UPS was not new in Factory Box as promised. Computer Geeks took back for full refund, no questions asked and paid return shipping costs. I did not get the product because it was out of stock by the time I received the used product, assuming they had more than the one sent me. Would have been to their and my benefit if there was better quality control to prevent this."
"I have ordered from Computer Geeks.com many times in the past and have done so since they first opened years ago. If any problem arises they are quick to fix the problem , refund money ,or send a replacement after receiving defective parts back.I give them a very high rating due to speed of shipment and price.Much better than newegg or tigerdirect which both have high shipping cost!when compared to Computer Geeks.com.I am always aware of product that is new or refurbished due to the great online shopping catalogs. I give them a "10" in a "1 - 10" rating "10" being best!"
"I wrote a detailed review on my recent experience with Geeks.com and recently was contacted by a Customer Service Lead. He assured me via e-mail that he wants my satisfaction and to contact him with any further issues.
When I came back to reflect this in my review, it was somehow missing so here we go again.... I ordered 3 items from Geeks.com after speaking to their customer service to make sure I understood their return policy as I was a first time customer. My box was delivered today (by an unmarked white van who threw the box on my front steps) and I eagerly opened it. So far, 3/3 items do not work. The first two were poor manufacturing issues and only concern Geeks.com with respect to their return policy being different from what was previously explained to me. Make sure to read ALL their terms instead of relying on customer service as answers vary depending on who answers your call. The third item, an used ipod nano, did not work properly. It took a long time to turn on, got stuck and did not access menu options in a timely manner. It was listed as "like new" and I called customer service for a return since this was clearly not the case. I was advised that if it allowed songs to be placed on it and played them, no matter how long it took, I would be charged a 15% restocking fee to return it. Nice customer service! I called back to complain about the incident report that listed my problem with item as "unhappy with it" as if I didn't like the color or something equally superficial and not the actual problem of it not working properly let alone "like new." This customer rep was much nicer and told me I would be refunded upon return of item without a restocking fee. I will have to wait and see if this holds true. "
"Fortunately for me I had a simple purchase: blank media. No intricate computer parts needed, just some blank dvds. That said, I was amazed by how quickly my order arrived. When I originally placed the order, I was quoted at 6-8 business days, which was fine by me. I placed the order on Friday evening, and it was on my doorstep Tuesday afternoon.
I've ordered from geeks.com twice and been satisfied both times."
"I purchased a refurbished Asus G50VT-X5-PB-2R gaming laptop from Geeks.com recently. From the day I got it, it crashed to a blue screen on startup and occasionally crashed to desktop or a bluescreen while running. The space bar was stuck, the keyboard was terrible, and part of the DVD drive broke off the first time I used it. I called Geeks, got a really helpful and professional guy on the phone right away, and was issued an RMA and free shipping labels. I sent the computer back then realized I'd forgotten to send the battery with it. I called them and they said they'd pay for ANOTHER RMA if I wanted to wait for them to get the first one, but I figured it was my bad, so I sent the battery back with my own money. I had paid for the computer through Amazon payments and had changed the credit card on the account, but Geeks called my home and told me the cash refund would go through, no problem. Today I got my full refund--Kristopher is amazingly efficient and helpful. In the course of all this stuff, I called them four times and spoke to a different customer service person each time--all of them were professional and friendly, but what's really important is that they actually did what they said they would do, despite the fact that I was the one who made mistakes. That particular Asus computer was a lemon, but Geeks.com were champs. Thanks, Jeff"
"So far my experience with this vendor has been completely negative. I ordered an asus g50vt-x5 refurbished laptop on 5/16.
It arrived sealed in a box that said it was refurbished, but the laptop had NOT been refurbished at all. When I booted it up, windows immediately complained about not being genuine. When I logged in, the previous owner's files were still on the computer. The tab and "-" key were also randomly typing making the laptop completely unusable.
I immediately called them and got an RMA. I had to pay $27 to ship it back. In the meantime this laptop has dropped $40 in price!
They have not responded to my emails asking them if they could do anything about the shipping cost. Since I had to pay for shipping twice and now the price has dropped significantly.
The laptop is not supposed to arrive until 6/10/10. It has taken almost a month since they have taken my money and I still don't have a working laptop.
I'm hoping the next laptop they send me will actually work!
EDIT: 6/18/10 The refunds have posted to my credit card. Thank you for working with me and correcting the situation. I realize now that geeks.com aren't the ones directly refurbishing these laptops.
The replacement laptop I received was scratched up, covered in cat hairs, it wreaks of cigarette smoke, and vista complained about not being genuine once again. Not only that, but the sticker on the bottom of the laptop containing the product key was worn to the point where it could not be read at all!
I was able to clean up the laptop and get windows re-activated by extracting the product key from the registry. While I would recommend geeks.com at this point, I would certainly not recommend purchasing a refurbished asus laptop.
I've had great luck with other refurbished products many other times.
Thanks for working with me. I hope to do business with your company again in the future."
"I love geeks.com because of there service and resonable prices on products. Ever since I stumbled on this website I never went nowhere else. I'm big on electronics and this is where I do my shopping. Though it could offer a more bigger selection in the games department of the site, it's still number one in my book."
"Recently I purchased a refurbished cpu at a cheap price and it works fine as advertised.
Then,I thought I should replace my 9 year old power supply and they had a really cheap one for $12.99 with $8.00 shipping.I should have known better!Everything about it is cheap and it doesn't boot my computer to where I can log in. I reinstalled the old power supply and it works fine.I requested an RMA through their website one week ago.No response.Plus they don't have a toll-free phone number.

Attention!
The day after posting my complaint they called and also emailed me!There had been a misunderstanding regarding my emails to them. They paid for return shipping and have issued a refund to my credit card which I'm waiting to see. This is definitely not what I expected.

"The microsoft wireless mouse I purchased works perfectly and is an excellent product. I couldn't be happier."
"I ordered an Asus G50VT-X5 REFURBISHED laptop through Geeks.com, All I can say is WOW! The price was excellent, the laptop quality was better than my expectations (an easy 4.5 out of 5) I did the required updates and its smooth sailing. EVERYTHING perfect.
I must admit that after reading into some reviews here and other forums, I got a little scared after placing my order. I contacted customer service late Friday night and they replied back to me FIRST thing Monday morning offering a full refund before it had arrived. This alone made me feel very good about their reputation.
I decided to accept the order and I am VERY happy I did. Excellent product, excellent price, most of all excellent customer service. What's not to like about that?
Les"
"Great customer service, so far everything is perfect. The product I wanted was easy to find at a fair price and lots of payment options.

"I recently bought a motherboard from geeks.com. I called them and got to them right away, and we found out what the problem was. They not only replaced my product, but gave me a store credit of 10% off on my next product because of the inconvenience. I think this was very kind of them and will continue to do business with geeks.com. I rate them a number one on returns.

"In an attempt to find another reliable supplier, I decided to try Geeks.com
This order arrived without a driver disk for the motherboard.
Most of the work I do is on-site at the customers’ location. In this instance, I was replacing a disabled computer at a remote location and had no internet access without a working N.I.C.
Normally, I can tether my cell phone and download drivers but, without chipset drivers, this was not possible.
The lack of a driver disk cost me a 60 mile round trip back to the shop and delays for the customer.
Chipset, graphics and audio drivers were available from Intel but not the drivers for the network card.
I had to waste several hours hunting down N.I.C. drivers for this proprietary board apparently manufactured for Gateway by Intel.
The lack of software was not listed in the product description at Geeks.com.
I have contacted Geeks but have received no response."
