"Conn’s can and will collect 100% interest rate. I have completed my payment of $2400 for the products I selected at Conn’s. Due to requested deferments, Conn’s is now collecting $2400 in interest in which I must pay because I care about my credit. I believe this is unethical but Conn’s has justified this practice due to the fact that, “I signed the contract.” Just would like to warn everyone to please reconsider credit with Conn’s (Say NO..to “YES MONEY”). Please read the contract? Please?"
"Went to the location on West Rd. So I was referred to this Conns Oulet because I was in the market for a washer and dryer, when I went in it was your typical Conns... salesmen just trying to make a sale. I had the salesman Chris and I ended up purchasing a LG washer and dryer and a recliner chair for $1,300, completed everything and paid cash. My brother went to pick up my items 2 days later due to Easter when he noticed the dryer didn’t have a cord, he called me and I had no clue about why because I was asked by Chris what type and gave him the information. My brother explained to the manager that the dryer needed a cord when the manager Christian told him it was going to be an additional $30 for the cord. Long story short the salesman Chis lied about explaining that I would have to purchase a cord, they got rude so I told him keep the washer and dryer and give me a refund.. I’ve never seen customer service like this, then Chris said that this an Outlet store I don’t have to have customer service because this sales itself. I guess because they in the hood they have that mentality of how they can treat you.. I took my money and spent it in Pearland where I live and got a better deal without all the extra drama. Moral of the story spend your money where you’re appreciated"
"I am now doing research on how to start a class action lawsuit against Conn's. I have attempted to receive a revised, corrected invoice from Conn's since November 4, 2019. I have spoken to a multitude of, supposedly, customer service representatives. In addition, I have been to the store where my refrigerator was purchased, only to be told, a corrected copy of the invoice could not be issued. What kind of fool would say such a thing. When I purchased my refrigerator, the sales associate sits with a tablet in which he scrolled down on each page to little yellow blocks for me to sign. I was advised that the paperwork would be sent to my email address, which it was. At home when I opened the papers, there were charges that were added, as well as, the service agreement which I specifically said I did not want. All of the charges made a $2100 fridge in the end cost $4900. As soon as I discovered the bill was incorrect I attempted to rectify it. Well, as of today, 3/13/2020 I am STILL trying to get a copy of a correct invoice. They have mailed me three copies of the same bill. What buffoons. I will not make a payment until this invoice is correct. I feel that if I do make a payment it saying I agree to terms of the invoice, which I DO NOT. How many people are they taking advantage of that do not take the time to look at the terms "
"I needed furniture for my entire new house. I got moody from Ikea and Haverty’s but financed a sofa and bedroom set with Conn’s in July 2018. By July 2019, the sectional was in terrible condition. Holes in the bottom, parts falling off, you name it. I assure you, I’m not rough on furniture. Nonetheless, the furniture cost about $9,000 once they added fees and astronomical interest. I’d paid approximately $6,000 when our financial circumstances changed. I called to ask for help and was flat out told there was nothing they could do for me since they’d already referred one payment. That’s fine, but the real kick in the teeth was finding out that my account still has more than $7,000 balance remaining. How??!!! Now that I am unable to continue payments (due to medical bills), their bill collectors call me legitimately 5-10 a day! And they email twice a day saying that they just “want to help me catchup” on the few missed payments. Where was this concern when my family took the financial hit? And how on God's green earth do I owe almost the entire amount financed, after paying $6,000 on furniture that was trashed in less than a year? (To be fair, the bedroom furniture is still in excellent condition)"
"While trying to buy a washer I was told the price was locked i could not get any kind of discount. Also no free shipping because i hadn't spent enough. Only when I cancelled my order did they try to work with me. Got the same idem over $100.00 cheaper. Also free shipping along with a 5 year warranty that was much cheaper than the 3 year deal conns was trying to sell. I saved a considerable amount of money going elsewhere. "
"They're a rip off. My products cost $1945 but after signing with them they come to tell me my price is more than double the price agreed. Said the fees is $2145 more. DO NOT FINANCE FROM THEM."
"Horrible experience. I bought a washer, dryer and microwave on a Wednesday. Next day delivery wasn’t available so scheduled delivery for Friday. I was told I’d receive a call Thursday night. No window available for the delivery day so couldn’t make plans. 7:30pm Thursday hadn’t received a call. Called store and they said they’d call me back. Called me back and said Friday’s delivery was for 2-5:30pm. They’d call 30mins before. Friday a little before 5pm hadn’t received a call. I call store they give me the number for delivery. Delivery says it was canceled 7pm Thursday. Call store the say delivery is schedule. I ask to speak with a manager. They leave me on hold for 15mins. I call back they transferred me to voicemail. On my third attempt to call the store i get a call from the manager. He says it’s scheduled for delivery. I say that’s miss information. He says he’ll do research and call back. He calls back say it was canceled and rescheduled for Monday. At no pint was this communicated to me. We agree for an earlier date Sunday. I get a text for a delivery time not good for me. I call delivery and when i say this is inconvenient the guy hangs up on me. I call them back the next day and canceled the whole order. This is only half of the story as in it got worse. "
"The present store manager is so unfriendly and rude. He does not want to hear any problems you are having with their sales. I complaint to him about charges to my account and he was not even interested in hearing me out. I paid off my account yesterday and closed my account.
I will never purchase another items from any Conn's store.
They owe me for a delivery charge that I should not have been charged. I was also charged interest when I was not supposed to be paying interest.
They care about sales and not on the customers.
I can spend my money anywhere else.
The store location is: 3143 SE Military Dr #102, San Antonio, TX 78223, ***-***-****"
"I bought two Rocker recliners why was delivered defective. I had finally got it worked out to get it exchanged. But the delivery service people were horrible. They gave an estimated time of arrival of 30 minutes. Then the driver immediately called one minute after that to tell me he was in front of my house. And he would not wait for me to Get home in the 30-minute time frame they gave me. They kept telling me at the service center. They have no control over this time system, which is a lie. They refused to do deliveries in the time that works best for me as a customer. I am a working person I cannot. Ask my boss to be off in the early afternoons till the time they choose to deliver, which is late evening. Many years I had a horrible experience with them as well. I let them talk me into buying a floor model of electronic device. They could not get it disconnected from the security cord and told me to return the next day to pick it up. When I went to pick up my electronic device, it was all scratched up from the security cord and they had no information on the device. They told me they had thrown the box in the trash. They handed me the electronic device wrapped in a piece of plastic with the plug. And that's all I got. I Fought it for months and months and months with no resolve. Years have gone by and I have forgotten this. Experience until I now I'm facing another nightmare with Conn's. They care nothing for their customers. It's all about their time and their conveniences. And making money. If I get this matter straightened out. And get this merchandise paid for I will never Ever do business with that company again. I hope they go bankrupt!!"
"I purchased a Microsoft Surface Pro 7 and an IPad 1/2/2020. Both were working great until the Surface stopped working on 1/9/2020. So I took the Surface to the store I got it from and explained to the lady what was going on. She listened and told me that they would have to send it out I explained that I hadn’t even had it two weeks and she said that’s all they could do at store level. I did not feel comfortable sending it somewhere I don’t know due to the fact that there is private company information on it. She said if I had called Microsoft and I said no that I would do that. After spending 3 hours on the phone with Microsoft they were not able to get it to turn on. They suggested I take it back where I purchased it from and let them know what had been done with no results. I went back to Conn’s (BIG MISTAKE) and let them know what I had done with Microsoft and what the end result was. They stuck to their rehearsed lines that they could not issue a credit a store level the only ones that can are their technicians. I then told the Manager I wanted to return it because I was within the time of returning and paying a restocking fee I was told NO BECAUSE IT WAS BROKEN. Well that beyond upset me and he said that I could do a voluntary reposition. I that point I was beyond mad (and yes I did get belligerent beyond my better judgment and regretfully). I again said it was not my fault that it did not work the. I then said do the voluntary repo but that I would fight it because they sold a faulty merchandise. I was giving a piece of paper I asked the sales girl where to sign she sarcastically said read the paper. I then turned to the manager who proceeded to tell me to get out of his store that he was not going to help me anymore due to the fact that I cursed at his employee. I did apologize (I know a little to late) he said no that he was going to call the police. Not wanting to go to jail on a Friday I left.
Before anyone from this store or anyone else replies to this review yes they offered to send it off to get it fixed, that is just like buying a brand new car it breaks and winds up in the shop for two to three weeks and still expected to pay for it. How would I know if I would get a new one or a refurbished one when I bought one brand new. There is no one that I know of that would go for this. Being in customer service for several years and for them to make absolutely no attempt to satisfy a customer in any way (besides sending an item that I had not had even two weeks) this is absolutely very poor customer service. No one in that store cared and were snickering and rolling their eyes. I took advantage of their 0% interest for a year and this is what I get. Next time I know better not to trust this company.
I have submitted this information to a couple of news stations and will get on other social media outlets and talk about the non customer service this company has. For those of you that give 5 star review to Conns great for you I will discourage anyone from going there I will now pay the interest on a credit card than deal with these CONN’S........."
"My couches are bad I’m hurt my back I’ve been calling to complain about it and there is nobody to help me with that even Supervisor’s so don’t buy nothing from them go somewhere else"
"Good luck with customer service. The stores care about sales not service. Dont believe it! My experiences is it doesn't help your credit but hurt it. They do not do returns. But will use scare tactics if you cannot by any reason. Managers or sales rep after sale is not to sympathetic. They promise to return calls , they do not. I've called 52 times. Customer service up to promotion also lie about they will reimbursed my $400 dollars. 37 minutes waiting on phone and then they hang up on me. Several times and they always say oh I'm sorry. Well after while it becomes annoying. I've met 4 phone awesome operators. But the rest are just plane liars and with no honors. After over 2 months they say waite till 30 days. Then waite another 26 days on 26 of December you will get monies owned. Well they were closed. Then next day they were open in england. Well they said we are aware the problems you are having. They said mon or tuesday you will get money. They your account. Negative on monday so tuesday they were closed . They are not professional. They want your money. But care less about promises to you. Please beaware... "
"I am writing this complaint because I am very upset that I got some misleading information when I purchased my tv. I was told at store 197 but a very young man preferably new had to be about 18. He tells me the insurance I purchased was accidental & NOT EXTENDED WARRANTY! I would never pay an extra $300 for an extended warranty, needless to say I had my TV for a Week it fell off my wall mount I was told by the young man that my insurance would cover it but no it does not he lied to me I'm not sure if it was on purpose for the sale or just because he was trained properly to know exactly what it covers I am highly upset I am a young mom who bought her kids a Beautiful TV for the holidays that accidentally broke not even a week later & Nobody at Conn's is willing to help me in no way. They just going to make me pay off a $1200 TV. I even asked if I can pay a deductible something for good will I even purchased a washer & dryer from Conn's never again I am so hurt that they literally don't care about their customers I literally want to cry. I will continue to email, call & write reviews on every website until something gets resolved this is truly unfair & misleading"
"We bought a fridge online 11/27. We were told the fridge was in stock at the store and it shows in stock online. Our fridge is broken so this wasn’t just an upgrade. It is necessary to get one in a speedy manner. We were told the fridge would be delivered 12/7 and to expect a call with the time the day before. No call. We call that evening and we are told the fridge won’t be here until 12/15. After a long discussion the delivery customer service rep tried to transfer me to online sales but they were closed. I was instructed to call back in the morning. I called back this morning and after waiting on hold someone answered and immediately hung up. When I called back the woman was extremely rude. She was sighing heavily into the phone every time I would voice my complaints. She also told me the fridge would not be in stock until after Christmas! I asked if they could replace it with a similar mode or have it come from a different warehouse. She said she couldn’t do any of that? She also told me there is no manager on duty today that can help me out. So in other words the people that work there have no supervisor. I highly doubt that. I was told to return my call on Monday.
What is more ridiculous is that the fridge is showing up as in stock on the website for delivery to my address. I never would have bought this fridge if I would have known it wasn’t in stock. It was deceptive. I can’t even cancel my order go some where else because all the Black Friday deals have ended. I will never ever shop here again and will make sure to let everyone know what terrible service this company has. "
"The preapproved credit ad forms Conns was what lead me there because I was in desperate need of establishing a credit history. What I didn’t know was that the credit/loan that I was approved for was not from Conns but a finance company called Progressive who brought the sofa from Conns and who then sold it to me along with some outrageous interest rates.
I’ve already paid over $1,800.00 dollars with an additional $800.00 to go for a sofa that originally cost $700.00
So, if you need something from Conns or any store for that matter, see your bankers and let them guide you through a loan process that fits into your budget. Stay away from Conns or you’ll get “conned “."
