"Consumer Depot's staff shipped my order within the hour after I placed it. The price was the lowest I could find anywhere.
I am very satisfied with my experience in this purchase. Great service, great prices, what more could anyone want?!"
"Ordered quite a few items the past few months with no problems.Fast email response and good prices. FEDEX Shipping on last order was very fast and very cheap.
Will buy again. "
"I ordered a 8MB Backup module for a handspring Visor. They shipped a 8MB Flash module taped up in a 8MB Backup package.
I requested and got RMA for return within 30 minutes of opening package.
They refused to pay for return shipping.
After 3 weeks they relent.
I ship package.
They refuse package..no explanation.
Detailed Chronology: (My latest latter to them)
Below is a history of my attempt get you people to take back an incorrect item and ship to me a new one.
In summary:
**Before Christmas: I placed Order #. I15659 for an 8MB backup module for a Handsprong Visor.
**Mon Dec 30,2002: You sent a confirmation of shipped item via Fedex tracking # 791266376863
**Thu Jan 02, 2003: Package arrived approximately 2:00 PM.
**Thu Jan 02, 2003: I opened package around 8:00 PM. The item was a 8 MB Flash memory module not a 8 MB Backup module.
**Thu Jan 02, 2003: I requested and received, online, RMA #R02434 at 8:26 PM.
**Fri Jan 03,2003: I email an additional explanation of your error at 12:36 PM and request that you pick up shipping tab
**Fri Jan 03, 2003: You respond at 4:24 PM with "I will have to check with my supervisor on this one"
**Tue Jan 07,2003: Having not heard from you I write again inquiring about what to do.
**Fri Jan 10, 2003: At 1:26 AM I write again and call sales office on for advice. I ask for resolution by 1:00 PM EST or else.
**Fri Jan 10, 2003: At 4:16 PM you write that you will add -$3.62 to the RMA
**Tue Jan 14,2003: I shipped Flash Module to you via certified USPS mail.
**Tue Jan 21,2003: USPS Tracking information indicates that at 6:03 PM you have refused the package and are returning to me.
Today I'm here to ask you what is going on?
They are either incompetent or fraudulent or both. I will now submit to VISA as a disputed item. Too much hassle for a $40.00 item.

"WARNING! ! ! !
Stay clear of these rip-off artists. Consumer Depot runs a VERY SHADY reselling business and sells garbage. I bought a Lite-On CD-ReWriter rebadged as a Verbatim 40X12X48. Very nice machine, but it went belly up within the week. WOW! It was unusable in less than one weeks time. To be fair, this was a refurbished model (suppose to be "factory refurbished") but I find that a bit hard to swallow. Also, it came with a 14-day waaranty. My problem is that I ordered on the 20th and didn't receive it until the end of December (probably because of Christmas). I didn't notify them until the 13th - which made it fall well out side the 15day warranty period. Their system tho is totally screwed up, the people ypu can talk to at Consumer Depot want you to do everything via email. I explained my case via email, that I had it for less than a week before it broke, and that I was notifying them within the 15 days since I received it. The problem is... they start the 15 days from the time they ship it, not when you get it. This is regardless of whether it takes two days or two weeks for you to get the merchandise. They have refused to respond to my email so far. I really gave up on this already so I'm out a little over $40 and should have gone another $10 to get it new from a "reputable" reseller.
AVOID - AVOID - AVOID - you have been warned.
There are too many good, reliable and responsive on-line merchants for ANYONE to have anything to do with this company. "
"Don't buy from this place!! I bought a defective Palm m505 from them & returned it. They gave me a store credit, but did not have any more m505's. They would not simply give me my money back. American Express battled them for me to no avail. So, I'm stuck with a credit to a store that sells junk. This place is worthless and customer service is downright rude. They're internet con artists. Once you give them money, you're never getting it back... and you'll want it back when you realize they delivered you a piece of crap."
"Got a Used good for nothing Scanner!!
Sent it back and they sent it back to us. Of course it was still broke!!! tried to get it replaced and they said it was out of warranty period!!! They are PITIFUL!!!!!"
"I have bought many time from this company only realizing i was getting used/defective item. sometime you got good deals but beware that it's quite risky. it might not work and you can only exchange for something else...further continueing the cycle of recycled junk. If you have to buy something make sure that it doesn't cost much, like mouse pads, floppy drive. I notice that most of what they sell is highly priced and that is a turn off. Their not new like they say, opened box should sell for much less then that! "
"It a shame what we're dealing with here is a company that sell returned items from a retail store of theirs. You're have been warned, chance are it maybe defective, used or if you're lucky someone returned because of dissatisfaction. its not cheap folk, do your research before buying from this company. you maybe able to get it at a much lower price locally with rebates or even other reputable online merchant, plus new NOT used/defective JUNK. This is a Scam Artist Game, so i becareful if i were your.
oh yea, dont think you can get a refund either. Return for store credit only!!!
"
"easy process, superb customer service, and super quick delivery"
"plesant buying experience. Quick delivery and item as promised. will buy again"
"Great folks, phone arrived in original box and all componets included. Amazing how some are absolutely happy and others outraged. I found Lori to be one of the finest support reps that I have dealt with. They even surprised me with free software.
This is how online purchases are supposed to be!! A++++"
"These folks will not refund your money, but suggest a store credit will suffice. I received a refurbished Palm that was broken, would not charge, right out of the box. They were unable to replace it at the same price, and felt that a replacement for more money would be acceptable.Essentially, they will not refund your money for any reason, even if what they sent was defective;you will have to replace it from their store, or purchase other items from them for an equivalent or greater amount. Buyer Beware. As of 9/26/02 this business was suspended from the Nashville Tn Beter Business Bureau for multiple complaints regarding just this sort of thing. The purportedly refurbished device I received clearly had not been "factory tested", and the beauty of this business model is that once you have paid for it, they can resell it again and again, snaring funds from individuals over and over, never giving a refund. Now, you may exchange your return for a different device, or other product, but you will probably have to pay more, go thru the hassles of return, and absolutely not get refunded.
This is an update, 04/15/03: Its been months, and my story is alot like a recent posting, elsewhere on this site, for a palm 505... my credit card company battled with them, for months, then told me they would no longer help, the merchant was responsible... So, we went to the store itself, since it is in my locale, Nashville, TN. We pulled a number of items from the shelves, totalling pretty much what the store credit was...And guess what?Surprise! They refused to exchange for other in-store items, since they said it could only be done over the internet!(In some twisted logic, if you purchased it over the internet, you have to exchange it over the internet- the businesses are one and the same place, though- go figure...). So, we entered all the items we had selected for an equivalent amount, right on their computer, in the store, over the internet. They wouldn't let us take the stuff with us, said it had to be shipped, $30 FedEx only, even though we're right here in Nashville. It's been over a week, and the FedEx number they have listed for shipping( in the "my account " section of their website) is bogus,it couldn't be found when we contacted FedEx.FedEx suggested that Consumer Depot merely made up the shipping number. Consumer Depot promises to ship promptly, and they charge, indeed, very dearly for shipping. I believe they get some type of kickback, since the fees are so high, and they refuse to use anything but FedEx.
Thus, I strongly suspect they never really had any intention of exchangeing the purchased item!!
I also firmly believe that the one-liner good reports for this outfit, elsewhere on the resellerRating site, are self -induced by them, not valid ratings.
It's been an amusing debacle, but $250 was a bit expensive for these laughs. I would strongly recommend not purchasing items from this website.
update 04/16/03: They shipped the stuff yesterday, after I was forced to email and query. Surprisingly, all was shipped, and seems to be correct. Thus ends my saga(over 6 months) with this enterprise. I would purchase things elsewhere, if I were you..........."
"Excellent Service. Prompt Shipping. Product Exactly as promised. Keep up the excellent work."
"I am tight on money. Looked extensively for PDA to replace my malfunctioning one. Through Pricewatch found $49 Visor Platinum from Consumer Depot. Advertised slight scratch. Researched PDA's. Liked reviews of Platinum. Gave it a try. Order received when promised. Looks used (refurbished product) but what do I care? Was not expecting leather case or the brand new cradle. Took 2 days to locate advertised scratch on screen. Software did not work with product. No problem downloading update. Showed off at work. Everyone looked for their own. CD already sold out. Very satisfied with product. Thanks."
