"It's always a leap of faith to purchase returned, reconditioned, overstock, etc. The key reason I took the risk on this was that the seller offered a 7-day return policy. And while I would lose my shipping costs, it was worth the risk to save a few hundred dollars. The item was shipped very quickly. It did have some problems, but they were seemingly minor (so far), including bad ink cartridges. That did cost me a few days of troubleshooting and I had to purchase $50 worth of ink cartridges. But I still came out ahead."
"Product EXACTLY as described, BRAND-NEW, in sealed pkgs. And FANTASTIC prices!!! I'm sure there will be issues with some of their software not being Vista-capable, but I've had to look up new drivers for pretty much my whole existing system (which I had ordered w/ Vista, but simply came with XP and an upgrade CD - from ANOTHER company), so getting the current drivers or whatever is a very small price to pay for these discounted prices. Not to mention items that simply aren't available anymore that you REALLY want!

"Although item (XBOX360) arrived in a timely fashion, I was unable to hook it up until my new TV arrived (from a different supplier). Once this finally arrived, I hooked up the XBOX360 for the first time and was met with the dreaded 3-red-lights indicating hardware failure... this happening RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. For a so-called refurbished item, this is absolutely disgraceful. Have not heard back from Consumer Depot yet despite several (angry) e-mails. Thankfully I'm covered by American Express' great policies, so regardless of any shenanigans I may go through with CD, I'll be able to get my money back one way or the other, but this is just terrible service all around... refurbished items should at least be checked to see if they actually work before being put back out for sale... very unlikely to do business with these guys again."
"I purchased an XM Radio SkyFi 2 unit from Consumer Depot on 7/27/07. It arrived damaged. The outer box from Consumer Depot was intact, but the box inside which contained the XM Radio was crushed, so they had to know that they were sending out a unit which was already in trouble. When it arrived, The unit's backlight did not work, the power cord was severed and was taped back together, and the power plug (12v) was broken (cracked and falling apart) and did not work at all. It appeared to be a unit that had been used by someone and then returned. In the purchasing process it was never made clear to me that this was a used or damaged item, but nonetheless, it arrived broken. Had it been used but working properly, I would have kept it. Total cost to me was $28.48. All this for defective equipment. I attempted to contact Consumer Depot several times, left several messages, etc., all with no response. I finally did reach someone in sales who told me to file electronically for a RMA. The RMA was R45079, and was made on 8/3/07. The unit was shipped back to Consumer Depot the day after it arrived to me. On 8/14/07, I received a credit of 19.99. My cost in total (cost already paid of $28.48 + $6.50 for the return shipping) is $34.98. They refunded me $19.99 to my MasterCard. This means that I lost $14.99 shipping charges on a purchase from them of defective equipment. I strongly suggest you do NOT purchase ANY product from Consumer Depot. Their Customer Support is impossible to reach, the sales staff customer service stinks, and they are RIPPING PEOPLE OFF. I have never been so disappointed by an electronic retailer."

"I made a purchase of a psp on 8/1, they shipped it the next day I got it on 8/6. I decided that the gash on the screen made it too difficult to play games so I got a rma. I sent it back on the 8/7, it was received and signed for on 8/13. They say a RMA takes 48 hours to complete it has been more than that and they have not acknowledged receipt of my package even though FedEx has said they have it. They also supposedly send an email when they get an RMA. I have been unable to get any sort of real human response about my rma. The customer service is nonexistent so I am left in the dark here.These are my experiences I won't be shopping at consumer depot again, and I hope everybody else is forewarned."

"I would not recommend purchasing from this store. I had received 2 products that did not mention that they were returned defective/missing parts. Advertised like new, so I assumed they were refurbished from the vendor. Did not get full reimbursement for buying other consumer defective junk."
