"I've been looking for an entry level audiophile integrated amp that has phono inputs as well as modern digital connectivity. The Yamaha A-S301 fits the bill perfectly. The sound quality is excellent, especially when playing CD's. I was in need of an amp to be versatile so I could play vinyl and still enjoy modern digital music, ie streaming, cd's etc.. The built in DAC is fantastic. I have owned 2 other Yamaha Receivers, including a CR840. The quality is still there. For the price you can't beat it. I coupled it with
pair of Klipsch R-51m's and a Polk Audio PSW10 Sub. The sound is fantastic for a small room. Actually it probably would work in a medium size room as well. At any rate I recommend this Amp for those on a budget who want great sound quality and features normally associated with spending 2-3 times as much. Crutchfield came through with a better price than other sellers which sweetened the purchase.

"Speakers arrived in a timely manner but the packing box looked like it had been through a rugby game. Opening the box everything was nicely packed so there was no damage to the contents. Information on how to install the speakers was absolutely great, almost to much info, so if you are on the edge about doing it yourself, take the plunge as you have good info and also tech support if needed. Saved myself about $600.00 by doing it myself instead of taking it to an audio shop. Time to take off 4 door panels and replace speakers and put back together was about 2 hours."
