"Ordered a computer with Complete Care Multicover, which also includeds theft cover.
Computer has been really good until now, and service is as good as it should be.
Now almost 1 year after, the computer got stolen. What happened is we reported it as we were told to by Dell, but Dells insurance partner won't cover this, as nobody got harmed during the theft. The computer was stolen right next to the owner, (Trick theft) and therefore Dell say: Your fault, it was not an assault. Now we are entering the legal area on where to discuss what an assault is and what it isn't.
I'm guessing if the owner tried to do something, he would probably be beaten up, but looks like that is what Dell wants.
I feel that Complete Care Theft protection from Dell is just a matter of making money and not insuring anything at all!
If you do have complete care theft protection and your computer gets stolen, make sure someone beats you up really really bad before reporting it to Dell."
"I ordered the Z-5500 logitech speakers. They took my coupon I couldn't get to work on line.Package came fast,Very happy with the speakers and shipping."
"I have ordered for Canon Rebel XTi with lenses. I got only camera no lenses. They asked me to purchase lenses with current market price which was almost double. After spending more than 3 hours on phone with diff people I was about tto cancel my order. So I called cancellation that time they finally agreed to give some discount but still that price was than I would have paid earlier for goof up Dell made. In that call representative said he will get me lenses next day. For next day, I thought dell it trying to help me so being a good customer I also purchased memory card. When I did not receive fro 3 days I called back to customer care, who don't care. I spoke with some representative they could not help it. They said if you want you can cancel the order. That means they really didn't care for the customer. They get bulk of orders why do they care for me but I did more than $1500 purchase in just one month. I have bought laptop earlier. I am very upset with Dell. I promise I won't buy anything from Dell and also make sure nobody falls in such mess like me."
"I ordered two 1.5TB hard drives from Dell, both for an awesome price, so I thought Dell was running a promotion on these drives.
Wrong.
The next day Dell emails me and tells me my order is canceled due to a pricing error, and leaves it at that. I called into Dell, and twice they assured me my order was still in production and would ship on 2/5/2008.
On 2/5/2008, the shipping date was changed to 2/12/2008, and again a Dell rep confirmed my order was not going to be canceled.
Then Dell canceled it.
After speaking with Dell AGAIN, they suggested I purchase the 1.5TB hard drive again at the 'normal' price. For one, this means I no longer get the price that Dell did agree to sell it for (even though it was only a short amount of time). For two, that drive is no longer available at Dell. Only higher capacity drives or several lower capacity drives would provide the same or better functionality.
So Dell gets you interested in the 1.5TB drive, pulls it from under your feet, suggests you rebuy at a higher price? Then, since you were set on 1.5TB and that capacity is no longer available, you would have to purchase an even higher priced item to get the same functionality? That, my friend, is called "bait and switch."
Between several lies from Dell reps, and the tactics used, not to mention Dell's breaking a contract they agreed to when I ordered the drives...
Well, let us just say they have very shady business practices. This is not the only time Dell has pulled a "bait and switch" by mis-pricing something and then ripping off their customers.
There were at least two or three similar incidents @ Dell in the last few years, so I think we can all be assured that a Dell deal is untrustworthy at best.
Oh, and where is my $200 gift card Dell? I purchased a PC from you 10 weeks ago w/ the card to arrive in 6-8 weeks. The $200 has not shown up; are you going to suggest that I purchase my $200 of stuff instead of using that GC?"
"Ordered 2 Hard Drives, after seeing DELL advertisements in Super Bowl XLII...They charged my credit card. Supposed to be ship on 5th Feb'08.
They changed on 6th as Est. Ship Date: 2/12/2008, got a IVR Call from DELL in the evening 4pm saying order was cancelled due to a price mistake...
This is not first time...it happened for the Camera couple of months back with DELL. It seems they are fooling customers with their price mistakes and getting customer information in their database to sell to other companies. It seems DELL is a making Fraud against consumers. Simply saying we are already have our own policy as if price mistake happens DELL has a right to cancel the orders. It is a foolish thing I will never suggest any one buy from DELL. I will plan to stop buying from them.
"
"I f**king hate Dell. Would you believe that I have placed 5 orders in the last month or so and all of those have been canceled by Dell? Everytime I place an order, it's either coupon mistake or a price mistake or some other mistake on their part. I closed my DPA account today and I am taking my business somewhere else. Die Dell !!"
"Dell failed to notify me in a proper time that the item they were selling was a price mistake. WILL NEVER BUY FROM THESE GUYS AGAIN! they claim they are not responsible for a price mistake but who's is it? The consumer???"
"Dell took a very long time to notify me that they made a "mistake" and then went as far as to "cancel" my order. They are the absolute worst online store I have ever purchased from, and I was also tricked into buying one of their horrible computers a few years ago. I suggest that you never, ever buy from Dell, they will only give you complications."
"Bought something and it took them 3 days before they sent me an email stating it was a pricing mistake. "
"NEVER buy from Dell's website. I ordered a hard drive from them, and TWO days later, they emailed me to tell me that they canceled my order due to a "price mistake."
They didn't call to let me know. They didn't even offer any apologies. They just canceled my order and offered to sell me another one at the "correct" price. And this isn't the first time they have done this. Can you say, scam?"
"Dell waited over two days to notify me that my order was cancelled due to an error on their part. A telephone call resulted in being placed on hold for over an hour and then hung up on.
Extremely poor customer service.
Buyer beware."
"I received a $25 off coupon from Dell for signing up for a service. I looked and found an item for $24.99 and tried the coupon. The online system accepted the coupon. The immediate confirmation page after I placed the order also showed the coupon as accepted. However, once I checked the confirmation e-mail, it turned out the coupon was not applied at all and I was charged the full price. After calling the number on for Sales on the site, they told me they couldn't help me and transferred me to another division (Customer Service, I think). After I explained my story and then re-iterated that 1) when I received the coupon, there was no indication that there was a minimum purchase price 2) the online checkout system ACCEPTED the coupon, I still could not get the representative to credit me back the money I deserved. Eventually, Dell told me they would give me a $25 coupon next time I spent a $100. Overall, I was very unhappy with this experience as I was forced to pay full price for an overpriced item."
"This is one of the worst online shopping experiences I have ever had. I placed the order, received confirmation, and waited. First, the product's shipping was delayed by almost three weeks. I was given the option to call and cancel, and I did. The CSR tried to talk me into not canceling, but I declined and asked for my money back. He said it would be done. A week or so later, I called back to complain that the hold had not been removed from the money in my account. The CSR said it would take 2 days to get remedied.
I called back today, 30 days from the date of the order. The hold on the money is still in place. The CSR seemed to have no idea that this was my third call, that I had already done this before, and started spouting the procedure I had to follow.
This is embarrassing for Dell as a major company, and I would strongly suggest that if you don't want to have to deal with this level of poor CSR and don't want to give Dell an interest-free loan (loan? Bah, I doubt I'll get my money back), then stay away from them. Use NewEgg or Amazon, or head to Best Buy if you want to get Dell products, but don't order online from them."
"I placed above order on dell.com for 4GB USB Flash Drive on Jan 29,2008. On that day, dell web-site shows this item price of $24.49 (after 30% off select memory discount). During checkout, I applied a Dell gift card for $25 which I received from Dell as thank you gift for buying a desktop computer. After adding shipping & taxes, dell.com shows final amount of $5.34 which I paid through my paypal account. I got an confirmation email for the same.
Next day, I got an email from dell's credit card processing saying paypal denied payment of $42. I don't understand how this value get changed to $42. Then I called their customer service, Sales team, Electronic & accessories about the issue and they just kept me in loop and couldn't resolve it. They admit there are some glinches in their software but they were unable to resolve it. I think there are some BIG GLICHES in their customer service handling. Any matter should get resolved with one phone call NOT by keep forwarding to other department. This is my second worst experince with Dell in last three orders. In nutshell, Dell's customer service is horrible."
"I have made at least 7 computer/accessory purchases from Dell in the last couple of years. My latest purchase was a Creative ZEN Mp3 player, which I bought with a $100 Dell gift card that Dell sent to me with my last computer purchase.
Despite many complaints about Dell's customer support, in my opinion Dell's chat/phone/tech support is above average. I have had to use their chat and phone support at least 5 times, and each time my wait time is less than 10 minutes, and the issue has always been resolved successfully.
One time, I ordered a Logitech gamepad from Dell, using a questionable $25 off $25 coupon code that I got from eBay. The coupon applied successfully on my order confirmation page, but then Dell charged me the full amount on my credit card, ignoring the coupon! So, I called Dell's sales support (it took me a bit to get to the correct phone number/person), and the helpful support lady said Dell would refund me for the entire purchase, because of the error! And sure enough, they refunded me the entire amount, so I got a FREE Logitech gamepad!
To sum it up, I have gotten LOTS of GREAT deals from Dell.com, with my desktop computers, laptop computers, and accessories. "
