"I recently bought a Canon Rebel XT digital camera from Dell and was very disappointed in the service provided. I got no email notification of order being processed or shipped. They say they won't charge your card until item ships but mine was charged as soon as I ordered and it was another 4 days before it shipped. When the package arrived it had no packing material inside the box. The camera box got beat up a little bit. I am an avid Apple user and only made this purchase because Dell had the best price. I'm happy to say that Dell has seen my last purchase and I will continue to buy Apple computers."

"Every call to Dell Customer "Care" is an exercise in futility. To get anything done over the phone it takes at least of being transferred to 4 or 5 different people, being disconnected from their phone system, and countless empty apologies by their customer support employees (whom I feel very sorry for having to work within the constraints of Dell's support department). My experiences are with a 2005FPW widescreen LCD monitor which I had heard there were issues with but took my chances and now regret it. Both the original unit and this replacement they shipped to me have issues. The first time I called, one of their small business reps finally helped me get the orignal replacement shipped but now both she and her supervisor aren't even replying to my e-mails or voicemails and it has now been over 30 days since my original purchase so dealing with a random customer care rep is out of the question as they will want to ship me a refurbished replacement since I now fall outside their satisfaction guaranteed time frame due to their incompetence."
"Let me start out by saying that I bought 3 laptops 2 dimmension desktops , digital camera, and few other accessories from dell in my 7 yrs as a customer.
I haven't had any issues with any system before and thus never dealt with the warranty they sold me until my almost year old Laptop Inspiron 5150, for which I paid $1400 started acting up.
There are more problems with this notebook than benefits. It is overheating immidiately after it is on; the wireless card takes at least 5 mins to find the internet connection. The batery dies after 50 mins on minimum settings instead of supposed 3 hour life.
I have called dell asked for a system replacement, they wouldn't budge. Arranged the repair mail in service. Replaced the battery and it gives me 3 hrs of work time. The laptop came back few days later with a work order attached. It said "Thank you. heat sink was dusty , cleaned it out." That was the reason they gave me for my laptop overheating, laughable. Nothing was replaced, not a thing was fixed, they "cleaned out" the heat sink. What a great fix.
The saddest thing is that the Laptop is overheating just the same and WiFi is still pretty bad.
If I make a $1400 purchase I expect a $1400 quality, I bought warranty to handle the problems that may arise, that was a bad decision to buy a Dell. I have decided to never again shop there and will buy Apple products instead. At least when you buy a 1400 Aplle ibook, you get quality and service that is worth the price.
Too bad Dell won't even see all the dissatisfied customers and lost business anywhere but their income statement. The stock price already reflects their poor service.

"I saw quite a few bad reviews here, but personally had an acceptable experiance. I ordered a video card (BFG GF7800 GT OC) for a great price ($343, MSRP is over $100 more). It was backordered at the time and said it would ship in two weeks. Their support was absolutely horrible, but the product arrived on time and in good condition. Luckily, for a video card support isn't very necessary, so it did not effect my experiance too much. Overall, the price and shipment were pretty good, but I wouldn't want to buy anything from them that requires support. I personally waited almost an hour on hold just to talk to someone who could do little more than read off of a web page, and with a thick (Hard to understand) accent."
"I placed an order for a Canon lens and the price was very good. Item was backordered and my order was delayed over one month. I contacted Dell few times and couple of their reps were following up with me to help with the item. Dell offered me a coupon and finally my order was shipped and delivered in a good condition. I am happy the order was delivered but think Dell can improve their service.
UPDATE: Two months later, Dell credited back the total cost of the item to my credit card, a surprise... Then charged me again... Was that a game or it is just the bad system???

It caused me to miss out on using my camera for a function like I had originally intended. The CSRs were very insensitive to the matter and I had to rephrase my issue several times (SEVERE LANGUAGE BARRIER)."

"I'm quite happy with my purchase of a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop using the special deal the college had with Dell, which saved a couple hundred bucks. I used Dell’s website to customize it just a bit, split payment between two credit cards, no problems. I received email confirmation and was able to check on the status and Fedex tracking number once it shipped. Laptop arrived about 10 days after I ordered it, not bad at all. Laptop was configured exactly as I had requested, not a single dead pixel on the display, everything works, already burned a DVD with zero problems. One gripe is all the extra junk software that comes preloaded, about 10 minutes in add/remove programs in the Control Panel took care of that. I’m very happy with the product and Dell in general. Didn’t need to contact customer support, everything works, so I can‘t comment on how they handle problems. If I need to buy another laptop, its probably going to be a Dell."
"Not a bad experience, but certainly not great. I have purchased several non-computer items from Dell because of their incredible discounts. The items are genuine and the prices are legitimate.
HOWEVER, shipping does take absolutely forever, (more than a month for one order) and their packaging is a complete joke. They stuck my $600 digital camera in a box 4 times its size with no padding whatsoever! It was rattling around when I received it. "
