"The order was processed during the weekend quickly and shipped out first thing Monday. Dell said the monitor would be delivered the next week, but UPS got it to me by Wednesday. The Dell 2005FPW monitor arrived well-packed to find a brilliant monitor with no dead pixels and no backlight bleeding. Great deal especially with coupons and FatWallet cashback."
"Ordered a 1 GB Scandisk CF card on Tuesday afernoon around 3:00 PM and it arrived at 10:30 AM on Wednesday. Great service and price."
"Best deals ANYWHERE! I do not understand why some of these ratings are so low. Sure, sometimes you might have to wait on a order for backorder, but some of the deals are insane! They pretty much give computers and other electronics away! I will be a dell customer for ALONG time."
"I bought a Sony DSC-M1 for $347.22 then Dell cancelled my order and try to sell me for additional $100. Don't buy from them!!!"
"Ordered Compact Flash on Friday afternoon, chose standard shipping (free). Package at my door Monday morning. Awesome!!!"
"After ordering a laptop from Dell in March, 2004, I decided to once again order a computer for a family member through Dell, this time a full tower. The order was placed July 23, 2005, shipped July 27, received July 28. The shipping was free UPS ground. Excellent transaction, effective communication through email, and quick/careful shipping. The entire process was smooth as silk. "
"Ordered a lens on 3/10/05. It wasn't shipped until 4/29/05, after I'd spent over 25 hours on the phone with various Dell people, discussing delay after delay, and excuse after excuse. My order was not served in the sequence it was received; many on the camera forum I participate in had their identical product shipped in advance of mine, even though they ordered on or after my order date. One Dell phone rep, preposterously, explained that by saying that the others lived closer to the point of shipment. Another rep put me on hold while she phoned some other department and finally told me that my lens would be put on priority shipment and would arrive that Friday (when I'd been told all along that there was no inventory and my order was back-ordered.) Friday came and went, of course, and it was only weeks later that I received my lens. I could go on but I won't. Suffice it to say, I won't be buying from Dell ever again."
"My order was cancelled without an email notifying just because they ran out. Now my shipping date is postponed to the end of August, because I called in, and they offer no compensation. "
"I found a good deal from Dell, and placed the order. They gave an estimated ship date of 2 weeks later. I figured for the deal I can wait two weeks. I called the day it was supposed to ship, and they informed me it would be another three weeks!!!"
"We paid for 2 Day Air for a computer order. Dell ships this item via UPS GROUND instead. UPS is notorious for damaging ground shipments in my area. One of our workers ordered a computer from Dell a short while ago and it too, was shipped via the incorrect method. Another worker has ordered two lenses and a camera from them and ALL THREE TIMES they arrived loosely in a large packing box with little or no packing material in them. Can someone please inform me as to what is going on with DELL. Do they consider customer loyalty a JOKE?? Well here is a funny haha joke Michael Dell - we will not be ordering from you again."
"I was looking for a specific digital camera and found a "price finder" type of site that showed Dell having the lowest price. I went to the site, used the coupon codes offered, ordered the camera and received it the next business day. So far, I'm completely satisfied with Dell, and would do business with them again."
"I purchase a DELL Inspiron 2200 for my son because he was graduating high school. The notebook is nice and cheap. I would buy from DELL again."
"After talking to a Dell sales person on the phone I ordered my new computer. I explained what I wanted to use the computer for and ask her to have the programs installed that I needed. I wanted to be able to edit pictures, from camera or any other media I wanted to use. I only got the trial versions of the programs I had ask for.In the past year and half I have not been able to contact anyone to help me . I call and get passed from one person to another. Today I looked up BBB in TX and got a phone number to the company in Texas. They, after hearing what I wanted, transfered me to a answering machine. I left my name and number with them but do not think it will be any different than in the past.
I worked hard for the money to buy the computer and now have to put out more money for the programs I need to do what I was told would come with the computer.

"After noting Dells' "basement ratings" everyplace I looked, I took a chance and ordered a Canon EOS 20D DSLR camera. I experienced the most common problem I see in most reviews - numerous emails informing of shipping delays of weeks, not days. When I finally reveived the camera, I opened the shipping box and to my horror, the $1500 cameras' box was placed in the shipping box with absolutely NO PACKING whatsoever. I'm still in disbelief. In my 63 years and dozens of mailorder/online orders, I have never gotten one with no packing in the shipping box. This camera took a lot of hits, banging around inside the shipping box. Dell will never get another order from me and I advise anyone to heed the ratings and know they are there for a good reason. Dell has EARNED it's low ratings."
"I found this board trying to figure out why geniuscamera.com had dSLR cameras for 500$ less than anybody else. well, its cause their shady. And I am glad i read it here instead of calling their number to ask them why...
I started reading about other sites and saw people slamming dell. But mostly its complaining about buying non-dell stuff from Dell. I didnt even know they sold non-dell stuff? Sounds like dell is unfortunately getting into an arena they cannot control.
When i think of dell, i think computers. I just bought a PC from dell a couple weeks ago and got "35%" off my total order. Not quite sure where Dell gets that figure since their stuff always seems to be on sale. But a fully loaded XPS Gen5 with a 2005FPW 20" widescreen digital, Pentium D (64bit), DVD-RW, 160 GB SATA RAID, 1GB RAM, top sound, top video, 5.1 speakers, etc shipped for $2300 i feel was a great deal. I got everything in 10 days (thats over the 4th of july even). A customized PC got from Austin to D.C. in 10 days; no complaints there.
A lot of complaining about the support, but all my stuff is brand new and it works great, so i have not called. also in the price is 3 year in-home so when something breaks i dont need to fix it over the phone. Been using/buying dells for 10 years. I needed microsodering on a laptop once and the tech came out in a day and replaced the motherboard, free.
I guess maybe people should shop for a camera at a camera store, which is what i am trying to do, just not geniuscamera.com, yikes."
