"HORRIBLE COMPANY. I am amazed they can stay in business with the processes and policies they have. I ordered a special order item on Wednesday before Black Friday. The saleman was all smiles, indicated i would have it in 5-7 days. Paid and waited. 10 days later i called the store and was told "I don't know who told you that, but special orders take 2-3 weeks". 3 weeks later i spoke to 2 managers, both indicated they had no idea who would tell me 7 days, or 3 weeks, but it would take 5 weeks. See the pattern? At 4 weeks, i called again to check status because i just received the credit card statement with the FULL AMOUNT due. I was told that i would now have my item Jan 15 because of "manufacturers in availability"; at this point i indicated no faith i would get my item, but they assured me i would. Less then a week later, right before xmas, i get a letter stating that my order was canceled. They did give me a gift card for my trouble, but i didn't want a gift card... i wanted my item. The store i ordered from never got a single one of the item shipped to them per the manager. However i am told that other people in other states that ordered 2 days after me received their item. Shoddy process, bad communication, and clueless employees made this a horrible experience. If you need a tee-shirt, MAYBE Dicks is ok. Anything high dollar... based on this experience go elsewhere!"
"On 11/21/12 I placed an order for a Troy Defense AR-15 semi-automatic rifle for approximately $875 after taxes(paid the full purchase price at the time of the order). I was told that it would be in possibly in about 6 days but no later than 2 weeks. On 12/21/12 I received a voicemail from Dick's Firearms Department on my cellphone stating that the rifle would actually be arriving from back order early to mid-January.
Today 12/24/12 I woke to the UPS man leaving an express mailer envelope containing a very brief letter that Dick's Sporting Goods is unable to fill orders for Troy rifles and they enclosed a worthless (to me) $100 gift card. There was absolutely no explanation as to why Dick's could not fill these orders. In fact Troy Defense has stated that they were able to fill these orders and it was Dick's that terminated the contract (Source: Troy's Facebook page).
I am completely unsatisfied with the level of service and treatment from Dick's Sporting Goods. I will never shop there again."

"Dick's lied to me too. I purchased the Troy Defense Carbine on 11/21/2012 and was guranteed many times I would received what I paid for. After Dick's pulling all ARs from their shelves, the store manager called me and assured my order would not be impacted and I would received my carbine in January. I trusted Dick's and was so patient to wait. I passed many other AR15 deals during the wait.
Today (12/24/2012) I received a letter from Dick's saying my order is cancelled. This is not acceptable. Dick's promised something and behave in the opposite at the same time."
"I have been lied to by Dicks corporate customer service as well as in store general manager. I paid for and placed an order for a rifle on 11/21/12. At the time, I was guaranteed to have the rife within 2 weeks. Started calling dicks and they assured me, that they had more pre-orders than expected and I would have to wait until January for my rifle to arrive. I was upset, and I left a comment on Dicks facebook page, and they had a customer service agent contact me. The agent said she could not give me an exact delivery date but assured me my order would not be canceled and they I would have it within 2 months max. This call took place on 12/19/12.She also stated that due to the trouble, I would receive a coupon for ammo, buy one get one free. Now, on 12/24/12 Christmas Eve, I receive a letter in the mail VIA UPS stating that they have canceled my order and are giving me a refund. When I purchased the rifle I was guaranteed to receive it, also, dicks stated all sales are final. They need to honor their commitments and give me the rife I was promised! …ohh yea, they never gave me my buy one get one free coupon the promised me either…"
"I paid for a Troy Defense 5.56 carbine in a dicks sporting goods store on 11/21/2012 as a pre Black Friday order and was guaranteed by the associate for delivery in one week. I called the store again and again asking for delivery and was kept getting late but guaranteed future delivery. Until on 12/24/2012 (Christmas Eve! What a irony!), I was notified that I won't be getting my carbine. I understand the relation of the cancellation with the horrible tragedy at Sandy Hook but my order was placed way before that tragic day. As a separate matter, I placed an order on Troy battlemag on 12/18/21 and got my confirmation but was cancelled as well by Dicks.I am truly upset because of Dicks' unwillingness to fuifill my orders. "I purchased a Troy Carbine from Dick Sporting Goods on 11/21/2012. It was an advertised black Friday deal for $799.99 which was discounted 10% as I opened a credit card for a final price of $719.98 which was paid in full via the credit card. I contacted Dick Sporting Goods 12/22/2012 and spoke with store manager Chris Johnson and he said he can no longer sell this product to me. Firearms are not returnable per store policy but this apparently only works one way. I was told that Dick Sporting Goods was having trouble meeting the demand of this particular sale and that little, to no, profit would be made on these items. Corporate was canceling all orders of this product and issuing refunds to cut their losses. This is extremely deceptive business practices.

"Special Ordered a rifle from DSG before their Black Friday sale because they wouldn't let me purchase one they had in store (even though they had sold out of this rifle at other locations due to this sale). Told by salesman it would be the next week. Then told the next week that it may be a few weeks, but I was assured that I would get it. Told three weeks later that DSG was cancelling all the Special Orders and I would get a refund and a $100 Gift Card to DSG. Dick's had oversold the rifle at the price they offered and were losing money, so the $100 Gift Card to all the dissatisfied customers was a way to save them a tremendous amount of money and show a little PR. Since I was "assured" I would get the rifle I had purchased several other items to go with it ($175 worth). This has been the absolute worst shopping experience I have ever had in my 43 years on this earth, and the absolute worst customer service I have ever received! I have filed a complaint against Dick's Sporting Goods with the Better Business Bureau of North Carolina - false advertising and failure to deliver a product purchased. I would suggest never doing business with this company, as I never will again. "
"After browsing a website I came across a code that would apply a 50% discount via the dicks website. It worked out perfectly to my surprise and I received an order confirmation email. A couple days past and I received an email that an item had been cancelled, but not by my doing. Then a day later I received this message:

today to let you know that your order will be cancelled due to use of an
unauthorized promotional code. We understand that you may have received
this code through a channel that was reputable. However, these codes
were not meant for public use and we cannot honor them at this time. We

I realize 50% is quite a bit but cancelling my orders before telling me was questionable, at least they sent this message. However ridiculous it may seem, I do believe they should have honored the discount. Even if it wasn't meant to be used by the public."

"Dicks Sporting Goods.com claim that items are "instock" when they are NOT in stock at a Dick's warehouse but rather in stock at a given manufacturer's warehouse. (as if they track manufacturer's available inventory in real-time)
Drop shipments are not unheard of by any means but in my long experience reputable company's don't take 2 weeks to deliver items that are, in fact, instock. Shady business practice Dick."

My girlfriend purchased a Horton Brotherhood Crossbow for my birthday this past January 2012. I didn`t shoot it until October of 2012.
After shooting it approximately 25 times it literally blew apart!!! The bolt that actually holds the bow to the stock literally blew out of the stock!!! Pieces went everywhere & the scope (for whatever reason, whacked me in the eye!).......... Now I`m not writing this review to tell you about my experience with a Horton Brotherhood Crossbow (You judge that!) I am writing to tell you about my EXCELLENT Experience at Dick`s Sporting Goods in Easton Pa.! Cameron, Josh & Chad were very helpful & very easy to work with when I explained how this crossbow blew up. Cameron & Josh are very honest, down-to-earth guys that were very respectful & truly concerned about what I had to say about this situation. They replaced my crossbow with a Barnett & I couldn`t be happier because of the way they treated me. I would highly recommend doing business with these guys at Dick`s in Easton Pa. anytime! Thanks!

"Very Dissatisfied! Horrible Customer Service!!! I live in Escondido California and was looking for football accessories for my son who just started the sport. So I went to the new Dick's Sporting Goods store that just opened up. I got bought 4 items I thought he may want. But 1 out of 2 the items he did not want was a $3.99 32oz Gatorade sports bottle. So I put it back in the store bag with receipt (unused) along with some thigh pads he also did not want. I go back to the store to return them but the cashier did not accept a return for the Gatorade bottle. Said it looks used and could not take it back. I assured him we did not use the item. A manager is called to assist and the manager says the same thing no can do, its used. We honestly did not use it and if it seemed used then hey the store sold it to us that way! So I took the bottle and threw it away because (1) We did not need it (2) If they claim it was used I surely did not want it either!!!! The cashier and manager was down right rude over a $3.99 item that I ended up wasting my money over. And for that I will not be back at this Store!!"
