"I ordered a dog clock from DirectSourceinc.com and then read that the company was a shifty company. There isn't a phone number on their website so I called the Better Business Bureau and they gave me the telephone number from the company in question. For the ones who got scammed I am now putting the phone number that they wont give you into this review. Hope this helps at least one person to get their money back or rectify their Direct Source problem. The Direct Source number is: 1-***-***-****. Good luck in your attempt to rectify this obvious growing scam."

"Re:money order #11198628630
On Nov. 20,2007 I sent the above #money order for an exercise device. Your company received the money order and cashed it - I have a photocopy of the money order from the U.S.Post Office. Please advise me regarding disposition of this matter. I am enclosing my telephone # and E-mail address.
I sent this letter to Direct Source on 2/12/08 - I sent another one on 3/5/08 -neither has been answered.

"I ordered from Directsource. They have quite a racket going. The camera was "in stock". I checked their website for peripherals, so I knew what I wanted before I called them. The guy there, "Jim", then offered me the "package" that I thought I'd seen on their site. Whooops! No. The package was inexpensive enough to raise a flag. So I called back immediately to cancel the order. They claimed that Jim was out of the office and I had to call back the next day. I instructed them to NOT ship the order. They did any way. Long story short and after much grief, it cost me $300.00 restocking fee and I got NOTHING from them. I'll never order from them again and caution all who read this to be very wary of what you're ordering vs. what they are actually selling you !! Good Luck ! "

"I CALLED THE FTC (1-800-FTC-HELP). YOU SHOULD DO THE SAME!

I ordered a digital camera from www.directsource.us. They listed the Canon G3 for an incredibly low price (first hmmm...). The next day, I received an email saying I need to give them a call to "confirm" my order...this after receiving my confirmation email (second hmmm...). When I called them, they started off by asking me if I wanted to buy this and that accessory that goes along with my camera (third hmmm...). After saying 'no' about a thousand times, the phone representative proceeded to tell me that my camera was backordered and will be shipped out in 3-4 weeks (fourth hmmm...).

The problem is that I failed to put all these things together that day and realize that they were trying to pull something off. I gave them a call today to check up on my order and they told me it'll be another 3-4 weeks before it was shipped out. I immediately cancelled the order and filed a complaint with the FTC.

Afterwards, I did some research online and found out that there are a quite a few people who've fallen for their deceptive business conduct. They are a legitimate (if I can call them that) company. They just offer really low prices to lure people in and try to make up for that by attempting to force people into buying expensive accessories. The lesson (as always) is that if something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Please let people know about this. I'd hate to see someone else go through what I went through.

"After reading this site, I have realized I have been scammed to. I to called to verify my order and was offered additional merchandise. When declined I was hung up on and found that my order to was 4-5 weeks back ordered. Well I only have two weeks left. I have wated this long, so we will see if I get my order. If I dont have it within the next two weeks I will cancel as 5 weeks is a long time to wait. I wish I would have found this site earlier. "

"I recently ordered a Canon GL2 from their website. Everything went great until I was asked to confirm the order. I called their offices after shaping my life around their terrible working hours and they told me my order was confirmed. Only after this did he tell me that my product was on back order. He then offered me a 600 dollar package which I said I didn't need. Next he told me that he could get the package to me in one day if I got their package. I told him no thanks. I then checked the update on their website and it said 4-5 weeks back order. I kept checking their advertised price and right under it, it said "in stock". I then sent a very angry e-mail asking them why this was so and how could they get away with such a scam. They simply told me they couldn't determine when my order would be shipped. Only after I visited this website and read others' problems that were just as mine, did I cancel the order. While I was on the phone, I asked them why the website said it was in stock when I was told the product was on backorder. They simple said that my order has been canceled and hung up on me. This has been an extremely disappointing experience and I would have been even more angry if I had not consulted this website. Thank you."

"I placed an order 1/26/03 fro a Nikon 5700. The order was accepted #DS81287, for $669.99 plus $9.99 shipping. I was told "We regret that shipment of the merchandise listed above, on your order DS81287 is delayed for 3-4 weeks because the merchandise is on backorder with the manufacturer." I called after 3 weeks and was told it would be 4 to 5 weeks. I called again and asked if the camera was in stock. I was told it was. I then asked if I ordered today could it be shipped out immediately. I was told yes. I then informed the representative that I already had a order in and why couldn't it be shipped. I was told I had to wait my turn and it would be in next week. The next week I called again, the same scenario. How soon could it be shipped? I was told 32 hours. I called last week and asked when would it be shipped. I was promised that I was first on the list and it would be shipped this week I called today and the first representative said still back ordered and it would be another 2-3 weeks. I said that this was not acceptable and asked to speak to a manager. He said another 3-4 weeks and that he could not ship me the camera at the price offered and would have to wait until the manufacturer offered it at a better price. He then, without my permission, canceled my order.

"Same story as the other people.

Wanted to buy the Sony DSC-F717. Called and it was in stock. Ordered through the web and it said it was in stock. Check the status of the order 2 days later and said that it was pending. Person on the phone wanted to sell me a "package" for a couple lenses for $500 where I saw the lenses in another website for $200. Person said it was OK if I didn't want the package and that it was going to be shipped the same day. Wife called 1/2 hour later and it was back ordered for 4-5 weeks. Wife talked to manager and manager said that they publish the lower price so people order it. When they call they try to sell them these packages. If people don't buy the packages the item gets back-ordered. We cancelled the order.

We surfed a little more and found B&H Photo. Their rating on this website is very good.

Glad this type of website is here so we can avoid scams and/or companies like "Directsource". I bookmarked this website so I can check the companies before buying.

Hopefully we can clean the web from companies like this one or force them to clean their act.

"How can these people stay in business? I wish I had researched this site a little more before trying to order my Canon G3. They had the lowest price on the net. But the exact same thing happened to me: The site and an email form them said the order was pending and I had to call to verify it. When I called, they damn near hung up on me, they were so rude. Surprizingly, they didn't try to sell me anything additional. But 2 days later, I called once again trying to get a shipping time, and they said it was on backorder for 3 to 4 weeks. This has to be illegal. When will they be investigated?"

"Best price on internet, best shipping as well. Called in person 3 times to ensure product was in stock. Was assured it was. When I tried to order over the phone, the shipping cost dramatically increased so I stuck with internet. Received a call about two hours later to confirm address, credit info, etc. Of course, I got the hard sell for overpriced packages of accessories. I declined. On 2/18 around 8 p.m. EST, I received an e-mail telling me the product is out of stock and will be out of stock for 3-4 weeks.

I checked their website and it still offers the camera at the same low price and advertises "IN STOCK." This warrants a complaint to the New York Consumer Affairs Dept., FTC, and anyone else I can think of. I will not wait it out, the order will be cancelled and I will instruct my credit card company not to accept any charges from Directsource.

"I ordered the Olympus C-730 back in late Dec. I got an email saying it was back ordered 4-5 weeks. I waited it out. Now it's 2/14/03, and I just saw on their web site that my order was canceled - there was no email notification. In fact the last email I received from them asked that I respond only if I want to cancel, which I didn't. Prior to that, I received a couple of msgs requiring that I phone in order to not get the order canceled. I've ordered many things off the Internet, and this is easily my _worst_ experience."

"Don't ever deal with www.directsource.us, they are "liars", they are "rude" to clients.
I call before ordering the Nikon 5700, they told me that they had it "in stock". A day later my boss call to confirm if they had send the camera to us. He was on hold for 15 minutes and and they told him to call back in 20 minutes. We call back to find out the camera was back order. The guy said it would take 2weeks. Then we received an email that bump the time to 3-4 weeks. We call the 800 number and they hang up.
Don't waste your time with this "liars" call www.directsource.us, don't even call them, they will waste your time. Take my advice, you will thank me later.
