"I've been a long time user of Ebgames, I find them to be one of the best online game retailers available. Shipping times are always quick, merchandise is as described, and I have never had a problem with a return."
"I've been ordering an average of one game a month for the past two years and had NO bad experiences. The closest I've come was when they sent me a copy of Painkiller which wouldn't install due to a corrupt file. They not only replaced it promptly, but reimbursed me for return shipping and packing (I'd already thrown out the box). No RMA hassle, restocking fees, nada. I'll continue to do business with them "
"The foul-up EBGames had with Unreal Tournament 2004 DVD Edition was annoying to say the least. First they say they have Special Editions, then make the correction after my order. Then they get the product in two days late while others got it in on schedule. Without offering me some kind of compensation for my troubles, and especially slow customer service, I cancelled my order and went with Gamestop.com. They were much better."
"Placed my order, choose next day shipping hoping to get it by the weekend, it was Wensday so I figured that would give any modern day net company plenty of time to get an order out the door.
Well checked on Thrusday and my order was "on hold" so I called up to inquire about it. They told me it was because my address has been associated with fraud and to check with my bank on it, but they would release the order.
1.) Nothing has ever been wrong with my address, and i had made orders the previous day from newegg, and drugstore.com with no problems.
2.) If my address was under suspicion of fraud why would they release my order all of a sudden?
Anyways I called Bank of America, and the account rep told me there was absolutely nothing wrong with my account, and how ridiclous of a statement that was that EB games made about my order.
So promplty cancelled my order with EB Games, Ordered the same item from gogamer.com and it went right through.
"
"although not an online order, i think this still reflects upon the company as a whole...
even though the release date for ut2004 was mar.15th, i confirmed with EB games that it would still be ok to pre-order the special dvd edition with headset on mar.16th. i pre-paid the full amount and they said it would arrive in the evening of mar.17th, so i called them today, mar.18th to confirm my purchase.
well, i was told that all the copies that they received of the special dvd edition have been picked up and their supplier short-shipped them and they wouldn't be able to get any more. to clarify this is a retail store in canada, BUT i went to their US online store and there's the game, in stock and ready to ship?!?!
tall tale # 1: EB games said that ALL of the stores and retailers were short shipped. this is untrue as another retailer in the area had 4 on the shelf. they were even called on the lie and admitted to it.
tall tale # 2: EB games also said that they know for a fact that other retailers in the area didn't have any in stock (see above)
so aside for the tall tales, my issue is... would a company not consider customers that have pre-paid a priority?
this is the 2nd time i've pre-ordered with EB games and this is the 2nd time that they couldn't fullfill the preorder (the first for a different reason).

"I preordered Unreal Tournament 2004 SE.
However, what they sent me was the REGULAR CD version. The box was beaten up and the padded envelope used to ship the item in looked like it went through a tour of Iraq before arriving to me.
When I called customer service, the person was less than helpful and made the excuse that they just put the wrong item in the package.
How, can you mistake a metal case for a cardboard case? Totally useless and lazy customer service and people working there. No apologies. Now, after preordering the item, I have to wait till next week to receive a return envelope from them and wait more time for them to receive it and ship me the correct item.
Since when did pre-order mean 1-2 weeks after release? "
"This is my final order from this company. I preordered Unreal Tournament 2004 DVD SE (with bonus item). The product is basically a metal sleeve protecting a cardboard box. Well, that isn't going to be very helpful when the whole thing is shipped in a PADDED ENVELOPE. Needless to say, the envelope arrived with a huge whole in it, and the metal sleeve was banged up. Even the cardboard was torn. Not such a "special editon" anymore. Luckily, the headset and DVD case looked OK. But there is no bonus item to be found.
The question is: what will they do about this? I have sent them an email, and will be eager to find out what kind of excuses they will come up with.
This is stike 2 of 2 orders. There will not be a third. "
"Preordered 2 Unreal Tournament 2004 games a full month in advance (it shipped 3/15) and got the bonus editions which contained what they described as a an unreal car emblem with each game. The very day it shipped they sent me an email stating that they had run out of the emblems and would only be shipping one per person. No asking me if I would still want the order they just took it upon themselves to go ahead and charge me and shipped the items anyways. Upon calling customer service, I got a repeated litany of "well we run out and it was just a promo item anyway" I dunno what other people call this but in my part of the US its called FRAUD and is illegal. Oh but I was informed I could refuse the shipment. STAY AWAY -there is a reason they have such a shoddy reseller rating!!!!!!!
Update - Like Iceman and Spatula Mine came today in a padded envelope that was beat all to hell...BEWARE FOLKS!!!!!"
"On sunday Feb 29th, I placed an order for an HDTV component cable for my Xbox, I set it up for next day air shipping for $10.
It arrived this morning in perfect shape at 11am. That is some excellent service!
Of course my TV doesn't play the component though unless I get a special box so I can't even use the cable but ebgames was more than willing to refund my money but not the shipping (was my own damn fault i should've researched it first)
So I rate them A+++ and recommend them to anyone looking for gaming gear just make sure it's the right stuff before you order it ;)"
"Great price on the game especially with the free shipping. Item arrived with no problems.
Thanks!"
"Ordered a game on the 30th of january and it got cancelled today for no reason and no explanation. Bought other stuff from them, its a hit or miss with this company."
"DO NOT BUY USED GAMES FROM EBGAMES! THEY WILL COME SCRATCHED! Also, the inserts look as though they've been taken in the bath tub! This has happened several times and I kept telling myself "this time will be better" but it is not! "
"I ordered several games, and all but one were either open, YES I said OPEN, or resealed (opened before). Only one of them was factory sealed. 5 of them had no seal at all, and might as well be used even though I paid for new. And one of them was resealed. I am very dissatisfied with the service I received. If EBGAMES was unable to fulfill my order with new product, then they should have just canceled the items they could not fulfill rather then shipping me OPEN and USED games in place of NEW. I do concede that I ordered several copies of the same game, however that’s no excuse to see opened games in place of new games. I would have had no problem if they were to have canceled my order or lowered the amount I ordered, but no cap was placed on the number I could buy. I will probably not order from EBGAMES anymore"
"Xbox Bundle with 4 games + 30 mir (spendable at ebgames.com only) 179.99
one of the best deals over xmas. I think some people got some good pricematches or free games at bestbuy and circuit city but overall still a good price.
I recieved mir and everything... very good service as far as I have seen."
"I have purchased two used games from this company, on different occations, and both times I have recieved a defective product. They don't appear to test used games prior to shipping them. One of the games I got was scratched bad enough to be able to see through the disc in a few spots.
The prices of the products were very good, but the fact that I had to pay shipping to exchange my products caused me to have to pay more than if I were to have bought them new. They also don't allow for online purchases to be returned to a retail store.
When buying new products from them I have had very good results.
I would suggest only buying new products from the online retailer, and if you want to buy used games from ebgames, buy it at the retail store, so you can see the product you're getting."
